Awesome video Glenn. You’ve had the best response line that I’ve seen so far, “this album does everything but smoke the joint for you.” That killed me. I glad you discovered XTC, they were brilliant!! Thank you for posting a video, and Happy Holidays 🎅🏼🎄
Great video. Widespread Panic getting the live love. Nice. Your mention of Jerry Douglas reminded me of a recommendation I wanted to send your way. You could see if it's on a streaming service or listen on UA-cam. It's an album titled Some Assembly Required by Assembly of Dust. It has 13 tracks with a guest or guests on each track. The guest artists include Richie Havens, David Grisman, Keller Williams, Tony Rice, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas etc. Reid Genauer (head man of AOD) is a great singer/songwriter and this could be right up your alley. Cheers!
Hi Glen!!! wooow it's already vinyl tag season here...... it's like seeing christmas stuff in october, lol!!! Some really cool questions and i think i can do a proper response to almost all of them (no RSD here) but you can't win all the time. cheers and be well
Hey Glen, wonderful submission, really shows you eclectic tastes. I have seen reference to Bert Jansch fairly often over the years but have never listened to his music. I guess after your endorsement that might be the push I need to start exploring his catalog. You are right, if Bela was an electric guitarist or a pianist he would be huge. I've been thinking about my records for the Americana thread and also the soundtracks thread, hope to have something out next week. If you are looking for another one to do watch my, I Do Not Play No Rock and Roll video I just posted a couple of days ago. take care, Elliott
Elliott..Watch a documentary available on UA-cam called Acoustic Routes..You will get a good understanding of Bert from that and it is a fantastic doc..
Great choice on the Dylan singles. “Crawl Out Your Window” is probably the most overlooked masterpiece in the Dylan catalog. Also agree on Aqualung; I’ve heard those songs millions of times and never get tired of them. Who’s Larry Graves?
This was started by Pretty Green Vinyl Guy, i think Mazzy was one of the first to hop on it. Enjoyed it! Parlaphone is awesome. I would have been mad if you would have picked the Stones over the Beatles.
Without watching, I guess the correct answer is Billy Strings. 14 minutes and 15 seconds that could have been a Short 😅 What? Wait! Not a single mention? That must have been hard 🤣
Larry s been at it for 18 years gonna keep doing it until he gets it right. ..it wouldnt be a Glen video without mentioning Bob Dylan ,surprised Frank Zappa and greatful dead arent in it too.. lol😮
Great picks/Miles Davis/Neil Young Album that defines a genre........Genre is Folkprotest.album Bob Dylan/The Times they are a changin' Best drumming... Band Patto..Album/Roll 'em Smoke'em..put another line out Drummer /John Halsey( he was also the drummer for the Rutles Artist in 3 bands..Keith Richards ..New Barbarians/x-pensive winos/Rolling Stones 3 singles CCR.. Thanks Larry…..you are the wind beneath my wings🥰🥰
