Thanks Mark! This unit asks to be explored and I like to dive into functions which aren't promoted on YT. If people say it's 'underrated' then I my thought is 'Well...let's get into it!' :D
Just a question about the synth patch, I've to create a new one starting from scratch and then reduce to zero the volume of the oscillators? Something more about the ADSR?
About synthesis on the SP-808ex. I don't know if there is a start-from-scratch patch but with every patch you can start in my opinion. When you know the basics, you're good to go. So, two OSC which have ADSR. First choose your Waveform and then adjust the ADSR. A=0, D=100, S=100 and R=20 will give you a sound with an immediate attack, a hold sustain and a quick but gentle release. The volume of the OSC has to be set and also the gain of the ENV has to be set to hear some sound. Perhaps I'm not answering your question...
Wow, that's what I call a prompt reply.. thanks I was asking about the patch you used to make the sidechain effect ...i think you replied right! Thanks a lot please, keep going, your video are a mine of information . Just to let you know..here Is another Roland s330 fans!
Fausto Caruso 😉✌🏽 Ok, for this effect then it’s important to set the OSC’s on zero and in the same menu to set the Ext.lvl on 100. Then incoming sound is processed by the ADSR of the synth patch. In the step modulator you have to set also the bars on/off (based on your wishes). It sounds complicated but in some time it makes all sense. And the quick response is pure because I appreciate the invested time of my viewers. About the S-330...I sold mine a few months ago but I regret it. Needed the space/money at that time and it was such a complete package with the original Director-S. The sound is just so cool... Perhaps in the future a rebuy.
Hi Ted! What you can do is the following: Connect the synth to the LINE INPUT, change the FXLoc to MIC/L Pre-eq and then you can mix the effect with the samples of your SP-808. In this case the LINE/MIC Fader is adjustable. In my video I didn't want to make it too complicated. Just to show a stand alone use of the SP-808. I've added the explanation to the description above. :D Good luck! Grtzzz, Roger
Damn it, I've just learnt my MUTE/MIX COMMON button isn't working. Looks like I'll be cracking it open to take a look when I've got some bench space clear.
Hey my friend Roger, long time no see...heh...If, and when you have time, connect with me, if you want, cause im at a point where i need an expert's advice...It's for choosing midi patchbay and interface... All my wishes for good health, and a happy, clear life, to your family and you.... Be always, as good as it can be..(and even more..)./// Patrick //

Nice Roger mate.. any chance you can run through send/return ? Hard to get the effects to the same level in the mix

@@theMIDImaniac thanks for reply but i mean when i use FX LOC send / return... I know you don't work for roland...
Teddy Seks With Send/Return I’m not able to add the effect to the mix. I will dive deeper into it.
