most people cant appreciate all the work and the fact its a real tank now on a bike that had a fake one just like it to begin with unless they see the video VERY NICE
Thank you so much for these videos I am a retired locomotive engineer and one of my missions is to fix lawnmowers for those that can’t afford the high cost God bless you Tayrl keep the videos coming
Hi Taryl, Your channel is great! As a matter of fact, it's my favorite. I watched all of your videos this past weekend! Very good info and not boring at all. Very entertaining. That one with Slippers setting up a tent in your garage was so funny I couldn't stop laughing! Could you please do a video on friction disc replacement? I need to replace the disc on my Ariens platinum 24. Keep up the good work. You should be on tv, you are better than any of the shows that are on now. I am dead serious. Mike
Taryl - All of your videos are really good and entertaining. I have a small leaf blower that will not start anymore. I could not fix it and had to buy a new one. I kept the old one knowing someday I would find someone who could help. I think you are it Taryl. You mentioned something in one of the weed eater videos that if you have spark, fuel, compression the only thing left is that the crankshaft key is sheared off. I did not think of that. My sons help me with lawn care and I am thinking one of them broke it. I have confirmed spark with a spark tester. Confirmed compression with compression tester and am squirting starting fluid into the air intake. I ordered a shirt and bing watched all of your videos. You are really helping us out here Taryl!!
The craftsman could have 3-problems 1-stuck piston ring very common. A air cooled engine reaches it highest temp when you shut it off. No air moving past the cooling fins to cool the engine. So the ring will get stuck in the piton groove resulting in low compression. Customers will say it ran when I shut it off now it won't start. 2- the cylinder bolts loosen & it will cause a vacuum leak & possibly blow out the gasket or o-ring depending on when it was manufactured Some models used a gasket, some used a o-ring type seal. 3- carb. manifold comes loose. Check those 3-things.
Taryl, you are the man! Thanks for the explaining and hands on operations on videos. I myself turn to you to get r done. A shout out from Crystal City, TX.
Hi Taryl Great show always waiting for your next video you are a great presenter I have learnt so much Working on A Briggs in my workshop at the moment , keep up the great work Regards Kerry
Nice job making that into a real gas tank. I use a product called "Red Kote" for gas tanks, the tank doesn't even have to be totally clean for it to work. I did my 1978 Honda 550K tank 10 years ago and it still looks good, as well as many others.
Another "You-Can-Do" video from Daryl. You can use a Ziploc bag to contain them odd shaped pieces and the Evaporust chemical. You'll get 100% coverage. Yeah, bringing down skill level is just as cool as doing it with a TIG. ...or brazing....but brazing introduces another "barrel of monkeys" in the welding/metallurgy arena... Yeah, working with simpler processes (that work just as well) makes successful projects even MORE SATISFYING! Hat's off to ya Daryl.
For the tank sealers or any POR 15 cans, put a piece of saran wrap on top of the can, then put the cap on. This prevents the cap from sealing to the can and helps extend the shelf life
To keep your can of sealer fresh I heard that you could take your argon gas from your MIG welder and let the argon gas get into the can and then seal it up so the argon gas will take the place of the oxygen instead because it's heavier.
wonder if you could save the excess by putting a little mineral oil or something else into the can? Gently pour it in, over the back of a paintbrush or old spoon? Any thoughts?
hey buddy, I have a 2013 craftsman riding mower it starts fine deck is fin but the tractor won't move forward or reverse, what can it be? it was working fine and I stop then it wouldn't move.
It would have been faster and easier to blast it. But the stuff you used looks just like Muriatic Acid you can buy at walmart for 8 bucks a gallon. But you have to neutralize it with baking soda and water or it just keeps on rusting it later on. And I use RedKote and it work really nice on my gas tank.
When someone comes in when he’s filming I wonder if he leaves in those teeth or not if not I wonder if he left them in by accident and wondered why he was getting funny looks from the customer lmao
we tried that 3m body panel adhesive at work but we didn't have any luck with it the 3m rep even insisted we were doin it wrong n since they're right down the street he stopped by n did it, basically the same exact way we were, the way the directions say n still no success, its strong as shit ill give it that, but to compare it to a weld is a joke, im talkin about a real weld, not usin a 120v harbor freight on a cheap 100ft extension cord weldin over top of rust paint n grease with cheap Flux core
just like any knock off the KBS sucks do not buy and use. i had a 1/2 qt in por 15 gloss black did my back bumper sandblasted and use por 15 primer and metal conditioner and sprayed with a binks number 7 gun needed more for front bumper bought a quart of KBS and did the same way and the top coat didn't stick to kbs primer the primer stuck but the top coat didn't KBS said I did it wrong. I've been doing collision work for 35 years don't think I failed there product did and the cassie savior no better

+stevewpmac What brand of blower
I bought a Stihl. The old blower was a Sears Craftsman

I know this is an old video, but the badge that says "Unsafe! Do not Use!" hanging around you neck really cracked me up..... Heh heh heh!

Great stuff . Good tips on welding and the tank sealer.
I spotted a crankshaft straighten tool on your table. I used one many times. Stens has been good to me.
A good start to a fun project.
Awesome vid buddy. 👍👍
+STEVE ROB Thanks Steve!

love the Taryl sticker on the tank
You can use radiator and gas tank putty to seal the tank welds.
It holds up well and is acetone safe to seal your gas tank welds
Pretty awesome stuff Taryl ... had a good laugh mate cheers
How about brazing the sheet metal on the tank?
Is that rust remover? CLR with a fancy label on it ? the gray container is identical .
Taryl your the greatest ever
another great video guys, thank fun the info and entertainment
You should check out the mini bikes at cars and cameras made with the 14 horse Briggs on it big block overhead valve motor
Man Alive! That GRILL!
What's the advantage of running a torque converter instead of just a clutch?
Much smoother, transfers power more even and no slippage, but is more expensive than cent. clutch.
Nice Job! Great Video too!
can you show me how to replace the pump in a cub cadet rear end? buglemouth1
+Dwight Marshall I wish it was that easy LOL
how do you no when dry Taryld?
wonder if you could save the excess by putting a little mineral oil or something else into the can? Gently pour it in, over the back of a paintbrush or old spoon? Any thoughts?

You're my new hero.
That's right, Taryl; good fit-up is very important when welding.

My Ex Wife had teeth like that. I used to feed her Corn through a Picket Fence !!!!
