The Nairobi Chapel culture is not only about doing everything excellently but also a choleric temperament culture characterized by extroversion and leadership. Choleric people are natural-born leaders, driven, and goal-oriented. They tend to be decisive, assertive, and impatient with those who do not keep up. Interns who have a melancholic temperament can really suffer during that internship while choleric interns would thrive. The Nairobi Chapel internship is not for the faint-hearted. Your faith in God will either grow or die after the 1-year program. You will be overstretched, overworked, and cry and wail a lot. What I went through in that internship I would never wish it for my daughter!I wouldn't want her to go through that program at all! Janet's experience of her internship at Nairobi Chapel seemed rosy, but to be honest not everyone's experience was like that. I recall Dan Aceda's CTA where he talked about burnout till he exited the church. Nairobi Chapel is a high-pressure environment where interns would operate with a very little stipend and do so much. Interns are the backbone of that church. I bet the pressure increased as the church grew and more church plants had to be established as Bishop Muriu has a very ambitious goal of having more than 300 church plants established before the year 2030.
