This feature makes my life so much easier since my driving sucks in game. I usually turn traffic off because it is hard enough avoiding all the trees, signs and buildings that keep jumping out in front of me without dealing with other traffic. At least in an open field I can eventually get it all done even if I do need to go over stuff again to clean up what I missed. I like the harvesting best because I find that machine the easiest to operate. But the actual driving drives me so crazy I gave up on FS19 because I couldn't handle it any longer.
Nice video FC. I agree, the pathfinding is useable and okay, but could use better smoothing and improved speed control, and completely clean up all weird turns and speed stammers where those occur. I have seen some heavy critique of the new FS22 AI on other channels. The AI is limited in ways (like baling and grapes) and not so smart in others like unable to resolve object blocks on its own. Even so, the AI is a huge leap forward from FS19 base game AI,. I am more than thrilled with Giants dev team achievements here! Other games have more advanced pathfinding, and some much worse or not at all. I will use Course Play and Auto Drives mods when those get refactored for FS22, but will also make extensive use of the new base game AI alone, or else not use it at all for survival RP situations where there is a rule not to allow use of any AI workers, to create a harder gameplay constraint. I can also see a clear reasoning for not using any mods or AI whatsoever, the game is that incredibly fantastic already without any extra maps, mods, choices or cheats! Excitedly await all the Season Pass DLC though too. By the way my G920 wheel and the Logitech Side Panel worked with almost no need for any further changes right away in the first game save. I commend Giants for a truly amazing top to bottom leap forward in almost every way in FS22!!
When I press hire worker it says "field not found". I have to set up a worker and it's really annoying because when it gets to the end of a field it doesn't turn around.
How I found out to get around it. I used my real life farming skills and I put a back-plow (it’s where you wit a circle around the field about 4 times minimum, also depending on which plow ur using) the A.I worked is going to fine the straightest line across the field, if you square the field first the worker should work the field and finish the field. When your cutting it’s called a back-swath, hope this IRL tip helps out

I know this video was 2 years ago but quick question, when I hire an ai worker to plant crops into a field the grain/crop counter doesn't go down so does that mean he's buying it the grain/crop himself or is it not planting?
If it i not going down at all, you are most likley planting (unless something is seriously wrong) but the worker is buying the seed they need to plant. This is a setting you can turn off in the game settings to set worker settings for several things including, seed and fertilizer, to buy or helper buy can be turned to off. If they buy it themselves it will charged you 150% of the base game price so typically if you care about money you will want to turn the helper buy off
You had to turn off seasons during the video. What effect does seasons have on AI. I am new player with seasons on. I notice that sometimes hired worker (H) just takes me to map, with no option to tell AI what to do. Thanks.
Seasons should have no effect on the AI except it wont let you plant if you are in the wrong season but thats the same if you are trying to do it instead of having AI do it
Is there still no way for the tractor to monitor when the combine needs to be emptied? I don’t want to have to resort to course play to get this working
does this work with motherbins to? Would be nice to place a mother bin and have a automated tractor running around continously to bring it to the central farm storage.
Love the video guide. I’ve been trying to use this feature on PS4 and my game throws a tantrum and locks up. I thought I was doing something wrong but I guess it’s just a bug for last gen console
The helper can chop but you would have to manually drive the vehicles to the chopper and into the silo, they could drive from the field to the silo but you would have to do the rest
Is the maximum amount of the AI workers 3? Because when i try to hire more than 3 active at the same time it says "AI worker X has stopped working unexpedely - no field found" but he is clearly standing on a field i worked on earlyer with another AI.

When I used AI to cut my grass they started driving all over the place and then stop. I have to go in and start things manually and then hire another AI worker.
they work better on bigger fields alsoif you have diagnals they miss triangles in a line going up the diagnal best bet.. start manually cutting the upper and lower edges of the field then let them take over going upand down the field after you do that job.. or do a full perimiter round manually let them do the rest. they get the fields way better when you do the outter edged though.also keep away from tracks sometimes thy park your tractors ontop of the tracks before AI rage quits. what it seems to be is the tool in the gane code is programmed to detect a field directly under it.. not the tractor not the worker but the attached tool. if no fields detected they rage quit. even though they blind af its right f there..
typucaly in real life a farmer would know his land better then a hired worker, and therefore would have to show hired workers the best most efficient harvesting or driving to transport routs.. is there a way to mod without moding script so it works on console as well.. to create a vehicle that is strictly a hired help rout planner? maybe an automated helper instead that rememebers the route you drive and the movment of amy attached trailers so that it works every harvest or drive no fails? like how theres a m9d for daily expenses oil etc for workers a custom vehicle that is hired helpers..
Whenever I try and hire a worker to do field work it just brings me to the create job menu but when my friend hops in the same vehicle and he presses H it works for him and he gets the AI to work, I have only gotten it to work on stone picking and rolling but anything else like cultivating dose not work
@@brettlamb5044 I believe I figured it out, they will only do the task if the field requires it, for example if you want to roll a field to remove stones you have to use the stone picker because the field does not have the need rolling state, that’s why I don’t think it worked for me.
I dont seem to get a hire worker for when im baling i get the AI Worker Menu instead. I cannot set the worker to go up and down a field with a baler. I need the Hire Worker auto option instead. Is this a bug?
@@FarmerCop I got the Lizard front end windrower for the front attachment on my tractor, and put a baler on the back of my tractor. Hire the AI worker who thinks it's windrowing, but is actually baling at the same time. Silly AI guy doesn't realize he's (She's, dude's) only getting paid for one job while doing two. MwaHahahahahha...
I'm playing multi-player mode which doesn't seem to have several people to switch in between. Is there a way to get more people in Multi-player mode? Basically the AI mode makes you still have to watch the AI work and you can't do other stuff .

@@FarmerCop I find it helps to do a couple of manual loops to create a bit of a buffer area. I do the same at the end of a field that ends too close to an object.
Hi to all..my question is not about mods but it's about FS 22 on pc..last two days something happened with my game and my Al worker not turning on the end of the field.. course play do same thing also...come to the end of the filed ,rase up equipment and just continue drive straight slow..anyone have same problem and know solution?it happend on all maps..modded ones and basic ones..thanks in advance

hired workers armt that great and seems are even worse with triler tools such as cultivators some good but bigger tools way worse..anyone want to make a way unrealistic deep not shallow... non trailer 24 wide plow and cultivator? specificly for workers? lol

I find the hired helpers very expensive.

Same thing happens to me, I tell them to weed or cultivate and it just brings me to the menu

Any idea if this works for silage production? Would like to have one helper chopping corn chaff and then 2-3 runners delivering to the silo.
The helper can chop but you would have to manually drive the vehicles to the chopper and into the silo, they could drive from the field to the silo but you would have to do the rest

That would require scripting so will never be available on console, course play is the closest mod like that but it again is PC only

I cant get my AI workers to do this. If I select my farm silo and want to send him off the game tells me the target is unreachable
Sometimes you have to change the location slightly, it is not a perfect system however so though it should work it may not always work

When I sent my ai worker to a job a car hit him and it stopped the contract and now I can’t get it to restart help

The monotony of the farming tasks always bored me with these games. I often wished workers could be hired for more tasks.
Bugs on workers are on all maps and only work right part of the time it's annoying

You can get in the equipment and have it set to drive somewhere, youwill have to manually attach what you want to pick up however

Probably bc you have AI worker auto refill of fuel/seeds/etc...you can switch it off

They fixed that now with the update so they should be cheaper now
