You should check out No Expecations again, especially in the context of as a track 2 on Beggar’s Banquet after Sympathy. One of their best songs in my opinion.
An album is supposed to be greater than the sum of its parts. It is a whole listening experience. You're ranking the albums based on some favorite songs you heard on spotify. It's the attention deficit generation. That's not how I grew up listening to music (I'm in my forties).
Actually, I did relate the rankings to the overall album experience, such as mentioning how songs like Starf-cker and Shattered felt out of place compared to the other songs on their albums, or the fact that GHS had a unique feel due to being mostly mellow throughout, etc. Maybe you would've caught that if you weren't busy stroking yourself over the idea of having some kind of generational superiority.
Nothing after Tattoo You is worth anyone’s time. 1. Exile on Main Street (1972) 2. Sticky Fingers (1971) 3. Between the Buttons (1967) 4. Let it Bleed (1969) 5. Aftermath (1966) 6. Some Girls (1978) 7. Tattoo You (1981) 8. Beggar’s Banquet (1968) 9. Out of Our Heads (1965) 10. Goats Head Soup (1973) 11. Emotional Rescue (1980) 12. Black and Blue (1976) 13. It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll (1974) 14. Their Satanic Majesties Request (1967) 15. The Rolling Stones, Now! (1964) 16. December’s Children (1965) 17. 12 X 5 (1964) 18. England’s Newest Hitmaker’s (1964) 19. A Bigger Bang (2005) 20. Voodoo Lounge (1994) 21. Bridges to Babylon (1997) 22. Blue and Lonesome (2016) 23. Steel Wheels (1989) 24. Undercover (1983) 25. Dirty Work (1986)
Steel Wheels and Voodoo Lounge are both very underrated albums that received plenty of great reviews upon release, Blue and Lonesome is good also but since its just covers, I dont really come back to it often. Even the worst Stones albums have some great standout tracks and I think saying that nothing past Tattoo You is worth anyones time is really stretching it, as a matter of fact I doubt you have even listened to a Stones album in any detail past Tattoo You.
Undercover is better than Beggar's Banquet? I like more Undercover songs than BB, but Sympathy for the Devil is a classic and nothing on Undercover comes close to it. I have to admit, I don't know all of the songs on BB, but I'm sure they're not disco like the theme of Undercover. I agree with Some Girls being good from a-z, a diversified album with country, disco, rock, and blues in the music and lyrics. My favorite ROLLING stones album is Let It Bleed.

Horrible
IMO Let it Bleed and Exile are the best Stones albums. GHS is great but it shouldn't beat beggars or let it bleed.
Thanks for sharing! Do you have an all time favorite stones song?
@@whiskeywolfgang Gimme Shelter
@@anthonieschaap1625 amazing song and well ahead of its time
Let it bleed on same lvl as Bigger Bang ??!! And Undercover ??!!
