I would be surprised if McLaren didn’t win the Constructors by at least 100 points and Lando didn’t win the Drivers by 30 or so. It seems there has been a .5-.7 shift in performance between Red Bull and McLaren so Red Bull going g from an advantage of .3/lap to being down .3-.4/lap. That’s great for McLaren but Red Bull have failed to develop their car in a very Aston Martin 2023 way. It’s like watching a train wreck over 10 weeks.
We could well see tracks that numb the RB weaknesses and Verstappen goes on to win. Why is a crushing Norris victory suddenly putting him in the championship fight when he is literally 70 points behind in the championship, with the only result we can base that assumption on being the literal last race? Yes RB has been caught but they still have the upper hand at least in the WDC versus Norris who has unfortunately failed at grabbing points from Verstappen at Silverstone and Belgium, with a grid penalty in the latter. Mercedes was the fastest car in Belgium, but RB were always stuck behind another car, Piastri himself said "clean air is king" so we cannot know how far off the mark the car that took pole by more than half a second really was on race day. I'm all for close racing and a close championship fight, which we might get in the WDC, but let's try to ignore the recency bias on a WDC fight that will need a historic points swing to materialize.
We have to see both the perspectives of this Max was slowing down for managing his tyres But on the same time Lando didn't pushed hard every lap bro was just enjoying the race The thing i wanna say that lando wasn't extracting the full potential of the car until the last lap So yeah max was indeed slowing down But lando was also managing his pace and not pushing hard If he would have done that the gap would be more like 35 38 seconds
Honestly, Max doesn't have anything to prove. Also, I'm happy there is more competition, but I don't really care for Lando as a driver. He's kind of annoying anytime he does an interview.

There is also the factor that Ford will be returning to the sport as Red Bull new engine supplier. We all remember how bad Honda's engines were when they returned to the sport, and we can see right now with Alpine-Renault how a bad engine can doom a team. If Ford fails to deliver, Max will leave, no question.
Its like Lando is driving last years RB, n Max has last years MB. 😮 Max needs a car based off last years car. Not a new design like Max has been running.
I'm so tired of Norris attitude. He should be careful about being this arrogant and cocky, but I bet he will drown in his own ego. Poor dude. Even if he wins 4 titles on a row, he won't beat Max. He won't be one of the greats looking down on others. And one thing all the greats have is immense respect and admiration for their rivals. Something Norris doesn't seem to have now, apparently.
Competition is great so if Max & Rbr arent winning 24/7 its when F1 & FIA & fans wanted, only problem i see is McLaren and since 07 whenever they are fighting up there i keep remember how they acted(greanted that era was a shady era for them & their boss).
Especially the 2 seconds in the last lap do mean literally nothing because there Norris took the fastest lap, which is obiously faster then your usual race lap time.
Nobody has ever closed this large a gap with only 9 races to go. So Max will win the title. (Except james hunt. And we all know what happened to let that happen, so lets not do that...) Its still nice to see different race winners though.
Max holding back is just trying to lessen mclarens acchievement, and max acting like he did that is him taking the opportunity to look less bad. Just one moment of lando going wide or a safety car and max could have taken the lead, no way he'd give lando a free pit stop. And even if he wasn't pushing hard, neither was lando. Him taking the fastest lap on those old hards away from lewis on fresh softs, having spent the last few laps chilling, charging the battery (which takes at least 2 laps on full recharge mode) shows, how much pace was left there.
What a load of bull. Max did only keep the gap to Charles to secure P2. He knew Lando was too fast. The gap has no meaning at all. And Max never said he did that on purpose. Again LIES by you. He said he simple focused on securing P2. That’s it.
Niki Lauder - "Win at the slowest speed possible." Now I don't know if Max is capable of being that calculating, but if you know you can't win why drive any harder than required to safely maintain your position? Better for you, better for the car, and doing so may give your rivals a false impression of their 'dominance' - next time a small loss may become nicking a win because your rival misjudged you. ...or maybe Max really is sending the team a message - who knows? PS: Good though he undoubtedly is, if I was a team boss I wouldn't want Max because I'd get his dad too.
I don’t think McLaren is mature enough to turn down engines even if they have a 20s lead … they will probably be thinking that if a tyres blows up we need that gap kinda mindset..
I can see your point. It's been such a rare moment for them relatively speaking that they will go all out to ensure they win...then the engines will wear out. It's a long game.
Usually these cover interesting ground or at least nuanced takes. This was much ado about nothing. Short of a Max DNF, the driver's championship is likely safe even though most of us hope it isn't. Just look how many points McLaren have squandered so far already this season: it's very unlikely Lando is suddenly going to turn into Max and rattle off an incredible succession of wins till the end of the season. Besides Singapore, it seems unlikely Max will finish outside the top 4 a single time. We'd all love to see it, but 70 points in 9 races seems too little, too late barring a Max DNF. Also reading way too hard into bringing the car home. Max did that all the time when in first. Why is there any drama about doing it in 2nd when you know there's no way you'll catch Lando and p3 is well enough behind?
Lando learnt how to drive the old wild bronco McLaren that spat Ricciardo out. Now he has a stable reliable car, people are finally getting to see his speed and driving skill.
I doubt 2026 simply because he will not make a move without knowing what the 2026 cars (and engines and fuel) are like. Unless he sees something in Red Bull development that really concerns him. He’s not going to jump ship when there’s a possibility they nail the 2026 regulations better than anyone else.
I've heard talk of a contrary bias for years. Seems to be the go-to claim when you have no argument: Oh he's biased against my guy, no evidence, he just is.

The world does not want to see lando constantly win by 20 seconds, we want to see 3 or 4 teams fighting for wins.
If Lando had pushed hard throughout the race he would not have been able to do the fastest lap on the last lap with worn tires
We have to see both the perspectives of this
Max was slowing down for managing his tyres
But on the same time
Lando didn't pushed hard every lap bro was just enjoying the race
The thing i wanna say that lando wasn't extracting the full potential of the car until the last lap
So yeah max was indeed slowing down
But lando was also managing his pace and not pushing hard
If he would have done that the gap would be more like 35 38 seconds
So basically both correct nothing to see here
If they both pushed, which they never do, you would not know the gap…..
Honestly, Max doesn't have anything to prove. Also, I'm happy there is more competition, but I don't really care for Lando as a driver. He's kind of annoying anytime he does an interview.
OK, I have a question: can McLaren legally use the exact same car in 2025 or do they have to change it in someway?
Dont think theres anything against it, Lotus ran the lotus 72 for like 7 years or smth, just that if they use the same car, chances are they will be slower compared to the rest next year if they dont develop it over the winter
@@srthebox4946 but I don’t think they will be slower because of the whole 2026 regulations and new rules,
I think most teams are gonna try and get the 2024 car spot on to give themselves the best shot at the 2026 regulations
How would RB19 fare today ?
I doubt it would be competitive in the least
@@toolegittoquit_001 yeah but the argument is that the focus will be on the 2026 cars so they wont be toooo far off this years cars
As long as the car adheres to the regulations still, yes. But as Law points out about halfway through the video, every team is constantly developing and even the super dominant RB car from last year would be midfield this year. As strong as McClaren's car is now, the same car one year from now would be mid
Lando is a great driver, but after the inlap of the Dutch GP I find him arrogant and sneaky…he mocked with Max by saying “simply lovely huh”… while Max was praising him after the race…that was enough for me to understand that this guy has issues and is not a real friend of Max…he is arrogant after 2 f**** GP wins🥴…I will appreciate him as a great driver, but as a person he is now an loser in my eyes….even he succeeds to win the championship this year.
I agree about the "simply lovely" remark. It was a childish gesture.
🙄 only for those who are overly sensitive or do not understand what good natured ribbing is.
Remember when drivers who knew they couldn't beat the guy in front of them would slow down to save their tires or just not lose places? Now it's a political statement.
Exactly
Lando won’t win this weekend. The talk that he is going to win every race for the rest of the season, is crazy if you’ve been paying attention.
we know that lestappen is the real think
But if max was going slow on purpose wouldn't the team know, he would have to lift significantly. I just don't see max doing something like that.
He copied Charles laptime to keep the gap. That’s it. Ppl claiming otherwise are simply Max haters telling lies
Should we be worried about the 2026 technical regulations? RB could be holding back this year as to prepare for 2026.
Max on a go slow is still way faster than Perez.
Wrong . Perez had faster pace last weekend you casual

Norris won't get within 22.9 points of Verstappen in the WDC.
Been watching for months and I still dk why you film in the attic?😂
Nonsense imo
there is no point to be earned with time gaps, Max, seeing that is car was not responding to his input might have thought that he should’nt push his car to the limits and try to hold his initial position
Exactly
To me the funniest part is that 22.9 seconds is nothing compared to the 32+ seconds in Hungary last year.
(Point being: It’s not like Max Verstappen fans have no retort.)
Are you upset?
passing with DRS isnt really that impressive. DRS has watered down this sport incredibly
Yeah I see why they used drs but it was never intended to be around this long. I am curious how the active aero is going to be
So you don’t want any overtakes then…….
Just parades at each track….
Cos without DRS…we have no race…just a parade
He's saying that if other drivers keep cutting him off just to take him out of the race, or
taunting him, one driver after another, how can he race if other teams are making him crash !!!
Max's fastest race lap at Zandvoort this year was almost a second slower compared to his fastest race lap in 2022 and 2023..
Meanwhile the fastest laps for Lando in the Mclaren and Lewis in the Mercedes were comparable to their fastest lap times in 2022 and 2023...
Interestingly, notice how all the commentary was about everyone else "catching up" rather than the reality of Redbull "inexplicably" dropping a boatload of pace and suddenly not being as good on tyre wear anymore
Such a mysterious mystery as to where all their pace went... 😂
F1 Official Commentators and insiders know what happened to Redbull, they're just gaslighting low info fans to cover their arses 😂
so what happend?
Redbull was 100% cheating and the FIA is covering for their failure to catch them for years.
@@TheVil91looks up the Redbull asymmetric braking story. Basically they cheated in a similar way to 2019 Ferrari

I think that driving slower to make a point is not to point out how slow the car is. It's too easy for them when looking at telematry. But it does show them he's not pushing it.
Its wild all these thing going on at redbull atm
Makes me wonder about how things are looking for the 2026 season. I have a feeling Redbull could be behind on that, not helped by the personel they've lost
I really do wonder if Max is looking elsewhere for 2026 now all this is going on
which things? actually, we all do not know what is really happenning apart from the high-profile people at RB not liking each other.
@@izno73 higher ups conflict, and the lost of important personnel correlating with a drop in performance
It's looking like a potential downward spiral, not to mention keeping Perez (so far) despite his performance (which to me indicates they want to finish lower in constructors to get more wind tunnel because they're THAT behind (compared to where they've been))
There is also the factor that Ford will be returning to the sport as Red Bull new engine supplier. We all remember how bad Honda's engines were when they returned to the sport, and we can see right now with Alpine-Renault how a bad engine can doom a team.
If Ford fails to deliver, Max will leave, no question.

Hey Law
Have you seen the ferrari livery for monza because I haven't due to f1 not posting it
It leaked on Twitter already. No difference except for black numbers
I am NOT optimistic for redbull in 2026 without Newey. I genuinely don't think they are able to create a good car without him.
22.9 secs is massive!
What a switch 😱
22.9? A sad Verstappen face? I might put that on my RC F1. Thanks for the idea!
My theory - Max knew he wasn't going to catch Lando, so he decided to save the engine and drive at 90%.
Who designed the current Red Bull car? Newey, Wache or ???
Wache
My wish is that Redbull get General Mills as a sponsor, and we could do a Coco Puffs livery in honor of Horner's achievements.
Settling for P2 because you feel the car isn't handling well enough for P1, isn't the same as "driving slowly on purpose". This is unhinged rhetoric.
B.S.
being beaten by even 10 seconds will send a wake-up message to the formerly overwhelmingly dominant team.
He had a decent race, really that's all he needed.
I wonder if his rivals will be so considerate when racing him?
visited the F1 exhibition. was nice, but wasn’t worth the money honestly. £15-20? sure. but £38? nah
19:36 very much like Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt coming off the throttle 10 meters before the finish line.
Its like Lando is driving last years RB, n Max has last years MB. 😮 Max needs a car based off last years car. Not a new design like Max has been running.
He was also managing his tyres so yeah, he needs to slow down as well.
You're saying that as if Schumacher, Senna, Prost etc didn't act the same way at times
Except that Leclerc also catched those 2 seconds up in the last lap
Lando is playing a dangerous game when conaidering verstappen more of a rival than a friend, brocedes 2016 will be calling if it boils
Imagine being so good that when you lose by 20s, people assume it's on purpose LOL
Nobody has ever closed this large a gap with only 9 races to go.
So Max will win the title. (Except james hunt. And we all know what happened to let that happen, so lets not do that...)
Its still nice to see different race winners though.
Everything never happened for the first time… until it does. 😊❤
Unless it's mathematically impossible, there's always a chance
I think max golden years are OVER, 🥵
Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things 😁👍
the reason the gap lando made in the last race doesn't matter as much as what max did is because max was sandbagging.
i think this is a take but i personally believe that max isnt the type to make a hass fast if you get me, im willing to be convinced tho
Redbull needs to get right a few times for max to be able to win. Zeropods are cursed. Redbull went merc 2022 in mid season. 🤷♂️
Max in the thumbnail is hilarious my god that's what got me to click on the video.
That’s it.
Red Bull only cares about max winning and challenging Lewis’s records so max is under most pressure but Lando can’t do it
Niki Lauder - "Win at the slowest speed possible."
Now I don't know if Max is capable of being that calculating, but if you know you can't win why drive any harder than required to safely maintain your position? Better for you, better for the car, and doing so may give your rivals a false impression of their 'dominance' - next time a small loss may become nicking a win because your rival misjudged you. ...or maybe Max really is sending the team a message - who knows?
PS: Good though he undoubtedly is, if I was a team boss I wouldn't want Max because I'd get his dad too.
Imagine Alonso as Max's team mate
OH! About the Red Bull squabbles, when Horner leaves, god forbid, they instantly become Lotus😳. Think on that.
1. Enzo
2. Chapman
3.Horner
I don’t think McLaren is mature enough to turn down engines even if they have a 20s lead … they will probably be thinking that if a tyres blows up we need that gap kinda mindset..
I can see your point. It's been such a rare moment for them relatively speaking that they will go all out to ensure they win...then the engines will wear out. It's a long game.
Lando set the fastest lap on the last lap. He wasn't pushing. McLaren is very much a mature team. They've hired veterans, not noobs.
1:14 to make that type of merch we will need to ignore max lappin the field and winning by 30 seconds like he did last year 😂
I just became a billionaire selling 22.9 Sad Max shirts, thanks mate! 🎉
Lando learnt how to drive the old wild bronco McLaren that spat Ricciardo out. Now he has a stable reliable car, people are finally getting to see his speed and driving skill.

in times like these i remember marko saying that max could win a race in a haas......oh boy that sure aged nicely
Just let Max sim race again
This years RedBull aero topped out in its fist form! Only gets worse from then on! Bad design.

Toto has offered an open invitation for max to join Mercedes. Max may actually move to Mercedes for 2026
He doesn't care for the team drama. He just wants a top car again. He's making his point to the team that they better fix the car.
I doubt 2026 simply because he will not make a move without knowing what the 2026 cars (and engines and fuel) are like. Unless he sees something in Red Bull development that really concerns him. He’s not going to jump ship when there’s a possibility they nail the 2026 regulations better than anyone else.
Anything brundle on max is highly suspicious. He hates the guy for denying his bromance's 8th title
I've heard talk of a contrary bias for years. Seems to be the go-to claim when you have no argument: Oh he's biased against my guy, no evidence, he just is.
