HOW TO 4L80E swap a trailblazer SS

- On today’s episode we FINALLY 4L80E swap my TRAILBLAZER SS. I am trying to simplify this swap for anyone trying to do this at HOME. If you have no experience doing this well it’s time to learn!
Swap was really simple in my opinion. Couple trimming on the housing but other than that pretty straight forward.
Parts I used to accomplish this swap are as followed:
Flex plate #FRA-450 (this one is needed because it has a spacer in between the crankshaft and flywheel which is needed to match up the torque converter properly to flywheel.)
ICT BILLET 4L60E to 4L80E harness
PCM OF NC crossmember bracket for 4L80E swap
Slip yoke CardanMaster 3-3-2431X Slip Yoke 32 Splines Fits For TH400 4L80-E, Turbo400 1350 Series Forging Chromoly
Your last thing will be getting tuned, common codes to be aware of when doing this swap are P0787 & P2769. If you are 100% sure you have working solenoids and a good working torque converter then more than likely you will be able to correct these codes with your TUNE!

Thanks for simplifying the swap and showing your build truck sounds good,I'll be looking for the brake swap 🙏🏿❤️
thanks for this video bro, super helpful! building 408 stroker for my tbss now and I know the 4l70 ain't going to like it. lol
Keep up the build bro you don't know how much of a fanbase these Suvs have especially the Atlas motors hey bro can you do a Gmc Envoy XUV built these are very rare and sleep on, especially for a daily driver that can Rip.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for this video bro 💯
Do a big brake kit video.
You guys will definitely get a big brake video !! Happy holidays !
Great job I have questions can i swap for Chevy ssr 2004
Que año es tu tbss? Yo estoy tratando de hacer trabajar bien la 80 en mi tbss pero por un motivo la tcm de la tbss todo el tiempo está activando el tcc. Una persona me dijo que ocupo una tcm t42 para que trabaje bien.
I’ve got the older 4L80e and I’m stuck on this neutral safety switch. I don’t suppose you have any other videos of you installing that switch or what’s needed because in this video, you said something about the bolt being shorter I think that’s what I’m encountering right now.
You will need to install a longer shifter shaft in order for your neutral safety switch to mount on to it. ALSO you will need to custom make two brackets for your two bolts that hold the safety switch.
I highly recommend getting a newer 4L80 to avoid that Or by pass your neutral safety switch.
@@official_Zilla33how can I bypass it
Where can I see how you ran the cooling lines? Noticed you said one had to be cut and extended . Which one?
What you use for the neutral safety switch do you use the stuck shift cable?
The question, I was thinking of doing a full build either with a Bravada, Rainer, Saab 9-7X HP 600-800 HP and TQ 600-700 what do you think the cost would be 20K or more towards 50K COMPLETE .
What is the name of that dipstick you used?
Is it true it feels slower and less harder on shifts bro?
I want to do the swap on my truck as well
Good question! I was under that same knowledge of 4L80 being slower in shifting but I did a stage 2 rebuilt kit since this tranny I had was blown. This kit came with everything needed to rebuild a tranny and once it was tuned she shifts flawlessly. The shift points are super firm!
Is it fast at shifting I say yes but then again I have never driven anything with a built 4L70. But I’ll take the 4L80 any day!
How complicated would it be to swap the 4.2L on a 2002 Trailblazer LT and covert to an ss build
Is the process the same if u have the 5.3
I understand. Has it ever happened to you that you are traveling on an irregular road with a certain speed in your vehicle and when you pass that road you can hear the vehicle door bouncing. What could it be
Is this the same concept with awd?
@@elimcaskin3252 yes but you’ll need additional parts and work. You’ll need to change the input shaft to your transfer case to match up to your 4L80 32 spline output shaft.
Hey bro would this work on a gen 4 5.3 trailblazer not a SS Ik it’ll bolt up but will it work not sure so looking for advice thanks.
Yes it will your tuner will be able to tune your 4L80 with a stock 5.3 ECU
Is this awd?

So if you do 4l80 swap on awd means going be rwd now?
@@musicindustrydrama838 nooooooo, to do a 4L80 swap in your AWD TBSS you’ll need additional parts. Mainly just for your transfer case. You’ll need an input shaft for your transfer case that will match up to the output shaft on the 4L80 which should be 32 spline.
What year 4l80e is easiest to use?
I would definitely stick with 97 and up only because of the better cooling system they have. Although you need to re do your lines it’s still worth it.
Do you really need to cut the transmission I’m using headers on mine wondering if it clears like that ?
You need to cut
What u-joint did you use
Same u joint
Outside clips?
I'm doing the swap as we speak, and the outside clips won't clip in on the slip yoke same part number as the one you have
Do you have instagram ?
DM pictures of it
Damn bro you live in the hood
