Like most poor interviewers, he doesn't know how to ask a follow-up question. Ellen makes an interesting statement and he sticks to his own agenda rather than following the path that her statement naturally leads one to wonder about.
It's a real treat to hear what Ellen's REAL voice sounds like! I knew she didn't really talk like Audrey. Her natural voice is soft and gentle like her most famous character, but nowhere near as high pitched.
Suddenly Seymour is a go to when I want to feel better. Ellen's voice is mind blowing, I mean, she really lets it rip! It makes my heart miss a beat then flutter, she's phenomenal!
I never realized just how much of Ellen’s natural mannerisms and demeanor went into Audrey. Obviously, the voice is exaggerated for comic effect and I doubt Ellen ever squeaks when rendered speechless, but The gestures and the cadence are the same.
Similar with Moranis, it seems. Even the Ronettes seemed to bring so much of their own personalities and characteristics, if you look at them over time.
She has SUCH a wonderful spirit!! She's a legend and this interviewer guy was annoying. He could have asked her SO many brilliant questions. grrr. Still..Little Shop Of Horrors remains my favourite film EVER!!
I'm 14 and ive always loved the show and movie for Ellen alone. She will always hold special place in my heart as one of my favorite Broadway actresses. I constantly belt out suddenly semor. She is the only person who could play Audrey
She was so endearing in this role, and it's great to find out she's just as sweet in real life. She made this movie. When she started belting out the songs with all her talent, it brought so much depth to a comedy movie.
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS IS A FUCKING CLASSIC!!! That's one of those movies you show to your children's children and so on and so on. I love that movie and it's music
Audrey was SUCH an intensely beautiful character. Legendary. No one could ever duplicate. Not even a future performer of.. Carol Channing caliber. Nope! Ellen Greene, you’re unsurpassed. ✨
Agreed, I just saw little shop put on by a very good theatre company here in Canada (Stratford festival) they hire good talent and do a good job with their musicals and the woman who’s playing Audrey is good with the role don’t get me wrong but not the same.... high bar set I guess
gmcnewlook ~ Yep. Ellen Greene definitely IS th Be Bar. 👍 And although there have been many good Seymour’s, and I’d even agree they’ve been wonderful, for me none have been the perfect fit that Rick Moranis was.
@@loe3175 It was such a fun time! My best friend had introduced me to the show years before and he ended up playing Seymour so playing those roles opposite each other was a dream for both of us 😊
When this movie came out, my room mate and I went to see it multiple times and kept taking different people to see it. I LOVE this Movie. I also got to see Levi Stubbs sing "Feed Me Seymore" at a concert. The crowd went crazy!
I would have loved to have seen her in more movies. It was like here she is and then never again. She had that something that you loved her no matter what. And could have been in other movies easy.
I feel like hes really rude to her...like if I was there I would be the happiest and nicest person on the planet. She's Ellen Green for Chris's sake. be nice.
Thanks for posting this, even though the interviewer was a doofus. Ellen is such a goddess. And if you haven't seen her turn in that Walking Dead webisode...you're in for a treat.
@@sadaesashington7255 It was a webisode, presented in three parts. Titled "The Oath," is also stars Kurt Russell's kid, Wyatt, and Ashley "The Last Exorcism" Bell. It's posted here on YT.
Truthfully, neither ending is happy. If you think about it, Audrey II ends up being in their garden at their new house. That leaves you thinking, would they realize it was there in time? So technically there is no happy ending. This movie I think teaches us to go with your gut. Don't feed the plant even though Audrey II is trying to convince you.
If the new audrey II is in their yard then it’ll just die, no one else will guess that it eats blood and Audrey and Seymour definitely wouldn’t let it grow. it’d just die.
The character of Audry , held back her true voice potential . She had to play that weak , submissive , part ,, But her voice wanted to break out of it . Listen to Suddenly Seymore , And you'll see what I mean .
There version of the recall story is a little off. It was a DVD, not a LaserDisc, and Frank Oz had no problem with the DVD, it was producer David Geffen who was upset by it.
So did the director, but it didn't do well with test audiences and he was forced to change it. though the new Blu Ray directors cut, they got the original ending that was thought to be lost back in. so now the movie is perfection.
Sad thing is her and oz tried to bring little shop back with her as Audrey after the 2015 encores Concert (with a combination of stage and movie Audrey) , they weren’t able to... a shame I’d give anything to see Ellen reprise Audrey live..... hell I’d even feed a certain plant ;) ( just kidding)
Her singing voice is INCREDIBLE. Especially during the part when she sung "......he don't cock his hand." (If those are even the lyrics). They better do the remake justice.
She's so nice & gentle. My wife an I watched LSOH last night in 3D & it was amazing as ever! P.s I don't think the interviewer was that bad. I've seen far worse..... like Charlie rose for example.
The interviewer and editor should be ashamed. The interviewer is rude and interrupts way too much. We are watching to hear HER speak. Let her tell the full story of her experiences. Stop talking to her like she's a moron. The editor cut parts of her story as well. We should appreciate authentic artists. Not to many of them left. Only Americans treat our icons like this.
I love her. What about the cd you two spoke about in your last interview with this legend? I was so looking forward to hearing her as she was in the70's
this guy sucks at doing interviews. He always interrupts the people he's interviewing, and the interview he did with Christian Borle was so awkward cause he brought up Christian's dead father and Christian looked so uncomfortable. Also he speaks too fast for himself like he'll interrupt the person then stutter for a minute then say his sentence. I can't stand this guy.
She is so exceptional, I never understood and will never understand, why she hadn't become a much bigger star!
Dude! Let the lady finish speaking and stop cutting her off and speaking over her. She's one of the finest actresses on Broadway.
Dan Lewis I couldn’t finish it. I couldn’t finish the interview because of that.
Agreed feed him to the plant😂
I was thinking the same thing!
gmcnewlook 😂😂😂
He keeps cutting her off because he is STAR STRUCKED
Like most poor interviewers, he doesn't know how to ask a follow-up question.
Ellen makes an interesting statement and he sticks to his own agenda rather than following the path that her statement naturally leads one to wonder about.
This lady is just a darling. So sweet and so real.
It's a real treat to hear what Ellen's REAL voice sounds like! I knew she didn't really talk like Audrey. Her natural voice is soft and gentle like her most famous character, but nowhere near as high pitched.
He always interrupts her and doesn't really acknowledge what she has to say. She is wonderful though.
LEGEND. There is ONLY 1 'Audrey' and she is Ellen Greene! Period. 💝 Such a Delight! Timeless!
Suddenly Seymour is a go to when I want to feel better. Ellen's voice is mind blowing, I mean, she really lets it rip! It makes my heart miss a beat then flutter, she's phenomenal!
Me too i agree completely. Her voice is like breathy.. I dont know anyone else who sings that way. Amazing
Music gives me tears when it's good
Yes I love her voice
I never realized just how much of Ellen’s natural mannerisms and demeanor went into Audrey. Obviously, the voice is exaggerated for comic effect and I doubt Ellen ever squeaks when rendered speechless, but The gestures and the cadence are the same.

Ohmygosh she’s as beautiful here as back then ❤️
She’s still radiant and lovely as ever. Love her to pieces.
I"ve worked with Ellen and she is AMAZING. I adored her.
She has SUCH a wonderful spirit!! She's a legend and this interviewer guy was annoying. He could have asked her SO many brilliant questions. grrr. Still..Little Shop Of Horrors remains my favourite film EVER!!
She's just as sweet in real life as she is as Audrey :)
She's still so adorable!
I looked this up to hear her real voice and now I get why they cast her. She's kind of got a cute purity internally. Great casting her.
Ellen Greene is such a timeless class act.
oh my this is the first interview ive seen with her and shes so sweet and darling
Ellen is absolutely mesmerizing, I can listen to her talk all day. She seems so genuine and full of life. I would love to meet her

Ellen Greene is a legend.
Ellen Greene should do a revival of Hello Dolly. She'd be a great Dolly.
Such a sweetheart! You can't help but watch her with a smile on your face!
She was so endearing in this role, and it's great to find out she's just as sweet in real life. She made this movie. When she started belting out the songs with all her talent, it brought so much depth to a comedy movie.
She looks FANTASTIC!

Pushing Daisies was so underrated! She is always fantastic!

I played Audrey last year, so Ellen is such an inspiration to me :)
Playing Audrey, even for a very small audience, is on my bucket list. I would never match the majestic Ellen Greene, but I'd try my best.

She really is better suited for stage.

SHUT UP DUDE LET AUDREY SPEAK!!!

Ellen Green, the finest actresses on Broadway !!! :)

She's so darling
I've been in love with Ellen green since I was 10
Let! Legends! Speak!
And let her hold the damn Tops card! 🤣 'Swrong wit dis guy, eh?
I love you Ellen Greene !
Loved her in "Little Shop"........
What a total queen. Ellen is such a amazing woman....what a doll
Just finished watching LSOH for 3rd time. Ellen did a superb job!!
Love her. When she physically changes into the Audrey character singing Suddenly seymour on shows gives me goose bumps.
When she said it scared the crap out of her, I expected the doll to be of Audrey II
Same, haha!😀
Ellen Greene is pretty.
she seems like a really pleasant person to be around :)
Ellen deserved a bit more reverence. Tsk tsk Paul.
I Love you spirit Ellen Greene!!!
She is FABULOUS!
Brilliant actress that she was Becomes a Legend also voice of Goldie in Don Bluth's Rock-A-Doodle as well
Thanks for posting this, even though the interviewer was a doofus. Ellen is such a goddess. And if you haven't seen her turn in that Walking Dead webisode...you're in for a treat.
What episode of the walking dead is she on?
Cant wait to see it

She was my first crush when i was like 8 yrs old. Lol
That woman is beyond wonderful!!

I don’t think the happy ending would be all that happy for Seymour if Audrey ever found out what he did.....;)
Although even though another Audrey is in their Garden if it's starves it shouldn't be a problem because it'll die right?
If the new audrey II is in their yard then it’ll just die, no one else will guess that it eats blood and Audrey and Seymour definitely wouldn’t let it grow. it’d just die.

She has such a Madeline Kahn vibe. Ellen Greene is magic. I want to be part of her 3rd wedding!
My whole life, I've seen Audrey (Ellen) with blonde hair.
I saw this movie when I was 7. She was my first grown up lady crush. The 2nd was my 4th grade teacher 😂
I would love to see a remake or a sequal to lil shop of horrors. Would love to see it with todays technology

It's not that I wanted Audrey to "die" necessarily. but I want the plant to win...
cutest sweetest woman alive
