- Travel buddy cook up number 5, on a recent work trip around outback NSW I decided to try a potato bake in the Travel Buddy, this is something I make at home in winter and I thought it would work well. I tried a variation from my normal recipe and it didn't pay off. Needless to say I will be having another go at this in the near future, the flavours were awesome and the potato was cooked well, but a little to much cream and a corrugated road made the bake very liquidy and took longer to cook than expected. Next time I will halve the cream or even a third and no bacon on the bottom. Either that or try to cook it when I'm on bitumen roads instead of dirt. Lucky my steak with deluxe sauce was a winner.
*Remember its not perfect, compared to the way you cook at home in your own oven, but it's all happening while your driving and saving you time when you arrive at your destination or for your lunch stop on the road. Keep trying different foods and times and see what works for you and your family.
Prep time 15-20 mins, cooking time 1.5-2 hours.
Ingredients -
4 washed potatoes
1 sweet potato
Cheese grated
Bacon pieces, cooked
Cream
Nutmeg, paprika and garlic salt

Nothing ventured nothing gained, I think the TB holds to much moisture maybe you could of drained off the excess liquid and let it reduce a little more and also add the cheese after it had cooked like the directions on the packet potato bakes , The steak Dianne looked delicious though.

Might be time to try it again I think, cold weather and some long road trips.
Too much cheese it be the fat n oil coming out of the cheese try putting the cheese at the end of cooking time on top it works for me 😁👍🏾
