what a time to get into custom keyboards - I sure wish keyboards like the Neo65 were offered when I first got into the hobby 🥹
the Neo65 truly packs a punch above its weight, featuring a dual mounting system and a Tri-mode PCB compatible with VIA, including wired, Bluetooth and 2.4G wireless mode.

here are my thoughts so far on the Neo65:
• [mounting]: I’m currently using the o-ring mount and it feels stellar. it’s designed with a reserved groove for the o-ring at the blocker - so no need to forcefully bend the o-ring, making the assembly way more enjoyable. this is a game changer, as I think it evens out the sound throughout the board.
• [sound]: I built this with no foams (no plate or switch foam) and it sounds incredible - an even sound profile throughout the whole board, no hollowness or case ping at all. the Neo65 is a finely tuned machine 👌🏼
• [weight]: I love the orbit engraving on the weight (I opted for copper) - the design is so clean, and did you know that Neo also stands for “Near Earth Objects”? hence the orbit 🪐 so neat!
• [case design]: the unibody case is minimalistic and I’m here for it. the Neo65 features ultra-slim side bezels, which really lets your keycaps blend with your desktop quite seamlessly.
• [price point]: starting at $79.99 (as a plateless solder PCB kit with brass weight) is no joke. this is likely one of the lowest starting price points that I’ve ever seen for a quality custom.
• [overall]: the Neo65 is a must cop for anyone looking for a sign to get into the keyboard hobby or just starting out. the quality and design is top tier with an INSANE starting price of $79.99. I’ve never seen anything like it! the Neo65 is thoughtfully designed, and I’m so happy that something like this is available in the hobby. I highly recommend the Neo65 and can’t wait to see it out in the world!

Disclaimer, 79.99 is the starting price for plateless, not hotswap, and a brass weight. Still a phenomenal price tho

This might be the first time I had seen someone not use the base sheet and instead used the foam as the base sheet. And for the people annoyed that it is not pre built / it is not budget : For what you get and the quality , the price range this board comes in is awesome. and custom keyboards with this spec normally do not come built. It is always good to learn how to build/modify.
Wish you could get one for 80 bucks... I had to pay double that.

Hey are the clip in Stabs that are included with the neo65 any good? Are they pre clipped? I ordered a unit and I would like to know before it arrives
If you mod them properly, almost any stabilizers will sound amazing.
it definitely is not 80 dollars when you count the fact that you have to buy switches, keycaps and pay for the shipping

@@TheCulinaryCompanion hello! 👋🏼 I haven’t tried any of the switches listed to date so it would be hard to say, but I think a lot of switches could sound awesome in the Neo65. It’s an overall solid sounding board, and in my experience with those, most good sounding switches will enhance the resulting keyboard configuration of a solid sounding board! I’ve tried Epsilons and Wisterias mainly on the Neo65, and they both sounded amazing!
@hi_keebs but the cookie and cream is my favorite but it's not in stock, I already own the akko yellows, but I just used them so they are kinda boring (I am getting sick of them) and idk

@tegin_arlan in thw keyboard hobby most keyboards are like 200, some cost 600 or more (i havent spent nearly that much) but this is considered cheap, everything's relative 😅
