Hello, I once had a motorcycle that had two holes in the rear rim. One was for the tube valve. The other was for a rim lock that prevents the tire from spinning on the rim during acceleration and de-acceleration. I used molybdenum disulfide, which is a high shear dry lubricant, fortified grease, on bearings. Such as steering, wheel, etcetera. Your bike sounds good. Your mechanic was excellent. I wish no more break downs for you. As is so often shouted in unison on the streets of Kyoto, Japan: " Hey! " UA-cam video: 2017.3.26京都橘高校吹奏楽部京都さくらパレード交款コンサートパーカッション
My unsolicited opinion. If the automatic timing chain adjuster has hit the end of its range, that means the timing chain has stretched. Possibly beyond its design limit. If that chain fails, the camshaft will stop while the crankshaft continues rotating, causing pistons and valves to try to occupy the same space at the same time. The manual timing adjustment is an easy fix for now, but the next chance you have to dig into the engine, you should replace the timing chain.
You didn't have a problem with your rim again. The problem was never solved. You knew the slime was just a temporary solution. Lucky you found the right people at the right time. Too bad of the camera but provided the glasses aren't damaged it can be fixed. Need to find the right guy/girl for the job...again. Thx Al and Erby
I was going to say the same thing, what an amazing guy and mechanic he is. Guys like him are the dream to meet when you’re out in the world and have issues.
God isn’t a mechanic. He’s apparently a sadistic vandal. But of course, after damaging Kinga’s wheel rim, he sent along a Good Samaritan with a truck and trailer - just like he gave the world Fauci and Bill Gates and their poisons. Nice guy huh?🙄🙈
Thank you for introduciing Al and Julie to us. I've heard many stories about them and their adventures, and have met many adventure riders who love their Jesse Luggage. Such genuine, generous, and kind people. Thank you Kinga. Ride safe!
Behind every cloud, there is a silver lining. that man fixed your motorcycle in ways, it never would’ve been fixed. And you’ve met two wonderful people.
Ohh, Al is a gem...he has got so much knowledge and skills... You know Kinga, I just love the garage videos, even thou it is not good for you to have a broken down bike. Best wishes and big thanks!!!
The man who "just happened by" on the road with truck & bike trailer is the first hero of this episode. This has been my fortune as well when vehicles break down on the highway. These kind people stopping to lend a hand or a lift, changing their own plans to help. Let's all be like this!
You are meeting the nicest people along the way, and helpful. I'm glad you and Chillie can continue your adventures. Safe travels and great hair. See you in the next one.
You can see that there are still good people around who help a biker in need. Good on you. (who would not help a good looking biker like Kinga) Safe travel Kinga, keep on splitting the wind.
All's well that ends well! I believe Chilie has over 175j Kilometers on her, and I don't think she's had a major mechanical issue. Everything seems to be normal wear and tear, which can often be expensive and annoying, but still manageable. Here's hoping for many more trouble free miles!
06:00 Hah, I still remember the clattering when the cct of my MT09 also went kaput. Such a horrible feeling, the Yamaha part also went through many revisions.
So fantastic the people you have been fortunate to run into along your way. Very few people put on true miles on motorcycles, they last a lot longer than people think if you keep up with the maintenance.
Regardless of the location anywhere in the world, help is not far away. Sorry for the your trouble but you handled it well. Good role model for the rest of us.
Based on my USA experience with BMW maintenance service you just saved yourself on parts and labor about $2000+, not including towing on a trailer? Plus your own personal bike master mechanic, is not always what you get in shops I have found. You are sooooo lucky.
I hope you bought Al a really nice dinner, he just saved you a fourtune, and he smiled the entire time. Great team work. Team work makes the world go around
Always like a good telltale. The GM brake pads had a telltale tab that squealed when the thickness was too low. I appreciated my Jesse luggage when I dropped my Oilhead on a greasy road. The pannier didn't try to dig in. It held up nicely.
I watching this and the second valve stem hole in your rim reminded me of these Orange Run Flat innertubes made by Nuetech Tubliss System . you need a second hole in your rim but you can run your tire pressures down very low and not damage your rim
The windshield is cracked or oxidized then needs...This is then fewer problems. What they like is familiarity, though then.. Power wash frame and wheel hubs. Great Show.
Quick help from another biker.. hopefully this is the norm, everywhere. I was once working I.T. and was on my way home, in my button down shirt, saw a couple harley type bikers on the side of the road. Stopped to check on them. They were fine, but you could tell they were initially confused until they say my front license plate (Patriot Riders).
First of all, please check the elongation of the timing chain. The modification of the chain tensioner only helps to eliminate symptoms and not their cause! However, the machine seems to be running well, so don't panic 😉😀👍
That modified/custom chain tensioner is brilliant! I have an F700GS, wish it was a part you could buy, I'd put it on my bike! BTW, how many miles are on Chillie now?
wow! It seems very lucky to have a wonderful mechanic to fix the bike up in detail. 🥳 Also, I would want really good stuff out in the dessert. 😎 Thanks brave girl. 👩🦳 Nice hair.
Where can one get one of those modified parts without the spring? I'm out here doing the world on my F800gs and this looks like an important mod. Thanks you.
You hit the jackpot breaking down in AZ. You had a master mechanic working on your bike! Ride safe!
One of the Beauties of being a biker is having often other bikers helping!!!🫶🏻
Golden people! You are a magnet for them. I thought the timing chain workaround was cool.
Dude with a trailer what a guy!
Thank goodness for friends......

From every F800 owner, you are the best! Every time I thumb the starter, I say a little prayer for Chillie:)
My unsolicited opinion.

Kudos to AL and his wife! It's important to have that garage time with such knowledgeable friendly people.
Wow so lucky to get help from such an experienced mechanic.Sure wish I could travel like you. Maybe next year
Motorcycle people are the best people!
What a kind and knowledgeable person Al is. Nice to have friends of friends, you really hit the jackpot in the American Southwest!
I was going to say the same thing, what an amazing guy and mechanic he is. Guys like him are the dream to meet when you’re out in the world and have issues.
Congrats on your 10 year in UA-cam. What a decade. I pray for your healthy and safety. Let God keep your bike run for ever.
@@thelonewolf666 if god wishes it will. I am positive about it. when ever your are BMW broken you will get in good hands.

@@thelonewolf666 I agree. See my comment above about cam chain tensioners.
Peace
@@thelonewolf666no bike runs forever, but I’m just over 500,000 (certified) miles on 3 BMW’s (one 800 and two 1200 gs) …
Al and Erby are absolute LEGEND!
You lucky girl! Your friend did a gerat job taking care for chilly (and you). Greetings from Germany.
Thank you for introduciing Al and Julie to us. I've heard many stories about them and their adventures, and have met many adventure riders who love their Jesse Luggage. Such genuine, generous, and kind people. Thank you Kinga. Ride safe!

That's right!
Al is not a mechanic...he is an artisan...and should be celebrated for his knowledge and support.
Unbelieveable hospitatity to a stranger. That was amasing
Ohh, Al is a gem...he has got so much knowledge and skills... You know Kinga, I just love the garage videos, even thou it is not good for you to have a broken down bike. Best wishes and big thanks!!!

самое простое и надёжное решение - заменить механизм гидронатяжителя на обычный болт и просто подтягивать его по необходимости.
What a brave man 🙂
What a great guy. Nice people. A good life lived. Nice one. 👍
Great place to fix your bike, Arizona. Lots of real talent here.
We all need friends like that in our lives Kinga, so helpful. Fellow world travellers always willing to help eh ? Enjoyed this episode, thankyou.

as an S2000 owner, i feel your TCT pain!
Wwooooow the mechanic is professional great job i am technician and he did really great and clean job 👏👏👏👏 Felicidades es perfecto.

Lovely.
Morning all from Australia
That looks like the second hole for the extra valve stem needed in a rim when using the Tubliss system
I thought it was for a rim lock. So the tyre doesn't move on the rim when running low pressures
Great episode. True Adventure riding.
Wish all best ur trip. Good luck Kinga
Wonderful friends!
Your positive nature is so beutifull even if things go sideways you manage to get it right ,and beyond that you meet
