One of the creepiest parts of Kusaregedo is how only one of his arm bones is sharpened and out in the open, but which switches depending on where he's facing.
That's just a limitation/"cheat" of 2D sprites in video games in general, really, although it's easy to imagine it's because he's a morphing abomination in this case.

Dr. Baldhead/Faust was the reason why i got into GG, i like his style of fighting than the other joke characters in any fighting game. It's why he's always my first go to character in any GG game. His Xrd instant kill was my most fav out in the entire franchise
A.B.A could've been on the list too. Bloody, bandaged, and has key stuck through her head. She also carries a huge bloody key around. Definitely could be from a horror game.
No Jack from power stone? He was like Jack the Ripper! His ending in arcade mode shook me the first time I heard him talk in that cutscene! He immediately became one of my favorite characters! I wish powerstone was more widely known to be honest. It was such an amazing game for its time!
Finally someone addresses Voldo. God he's unsettling. With my friends whoever wanted an easy win would pick him because either the opponent would be so creeped out or unable to break out of the uncomfortable laughter of being spikily bounced to death by his crab walk pelvic thrust attack
Voldo: *"LETS DO THE TIME WARP AGAINNNN~!"* Me: "OH GOD I HAVE 27 STAB WOUNDS AND MY RIBS ARE SHATTERED IN SIX PLACES! ALSO I'M FLYING IN THE AIIIIRRRRR!"
Rasputin from World Heroes has a super move that... I can't mention here without the comment being automatically deleted. Therefore not much use for a video so don't know why I even brought it up.
Another thing to notice about Kusaregedo from Samurai Shodown is that when you disarm an opponent it drops their weapons on the ground. On his case it drops the entire arm LOL. Literally disarmed.
oh yeah, Meat is apparently the result of Shang-Tsung's cloning experiments. Oh boy... there's even a stage showing the "Flesh Pits"..... oooh truly horrifying stuff.
There is no more embarrassing feeling in a fighting game then being spun on Voldos knife glove and then thrown off stage as he crabwalks backwards out of frame
Good job Andy. And the developers/designers of those first two deserve some kudos for the truly creepy results. I'm not even a horror fan, and yet those deserve a -chef's kiss-.
Eddie in Guilty Gear X2 and Accent Core +R is also pretty creepy, although mostly in terms of backstory. Basically, he’s a parasite possessing the corpse of another character, Zato, having the same move set as him and having a story mode about him trying to find another host.
Growing up, the only fighting game I had was Bushido Blade 2. And every time I got tired of my brother ALWAYS having a hissy fit unless he got to be Player 1, ALWAYS picking Gengoro with the nodachi and ALWAYS beginning every round by holding down the run button and mashing for a full-on attack, I'd take my sweet time deciding whether or not I was going to play as Sazanka just to force him to look at the creepy green clown with vampire teeth.
@@mr.mammuthusafricanavus8299 My go-to was usually Highwayman. The fact that my brother thought it was funny to hate on Irish people may or may not have influenced such.
I learned today that kiryu from yakuza will never be seen in a fighting game like street fighter or something. His creator won't let him be used in a fighting game because under no circumstances will kiryu hit a girl.
Obligatory comment about how Andy must have snuck into the office to create this, just as Mike does racing videos and Andy did for the Zombies. More seriously, I always appreciate Mr Fs love of fighting games in all their weird and wonderful forms.
So Laura is half an imposter because she only has electricity and Sean is just straight up lying to us, got it. The rules of Brazil are really confusing.
Can we swap luck? Where I grew up the only local superpower is the ability to do all the meth, all the time. ...You know, that's not THAT bad a power, but it's not as useful as shooting electricity.
Apparently Blanka learned how to conduct electricity from encounters with electric eels, and his green skin came from constant use of chlorophyll as camouflage, which he did so much that it somehow permanently embedded into his skin and turned it green (iirc)
I was blowdrying my hair while watching this video. I never played Killer Instinct, so the Hisako jump scares almost made me drop my hairdryer. Laughing about it now, of course 😂
I'm surprised the Orochi possessed characters from The King of Fighters '97 didn't make it on the list. Orochi Iori, and Orochi Leona were especially disturbing.
First grossest zombies, now creepiest fighting game characters. Andy must be missing Halloween already. I wonder if a list of "7 of the Most Kind-hearted, Wholesome Video Game Characters" is in order.
There are a lot of implications that Q has some connection to G. They fight in similar styles and take similar poses. They are also complete ciphers. From Skullgirls, there are Painwheel and Double. Painwheel has her eponymous weapon stitched to her like a gruesome fifth limb and appears to be in constant pain from the torturous "medical procedures" done to her. Double is a human-sized blob of protoplasm that can assume different forms (it likes to look like a creepy nun) and has a creepy flange to her voice.
In BBCF, Arakune is pretty freaky. His lore isn't that bad, but the fact that he's made out of liquid and bugs is pretty grotesque. Also, Faust from GG was a literal serial killer before turning good, but in Strive has lost his mind.
I'd also suggest Leopaldon from Guilty Gear Isuka. Probably the strangest fighting game character I've ever seen. Kusurugedo was a perfect pick! Great list OX!
@@azuredragoon2054 Considering Guilty Gear's fighters, Leopaldon has to be next level weird to attain THAT moniker haha! If he was to be brought back he would definitely not be able to have dead zones like you say.
Yay for Hisako! Heard somewhere that Q is supposed to be a parody of an old comic character (possibly Mr A). Not sure how true that is. Surprised none of the Skullgirls cast made the list.
10:05 Okay, you have clearly seen Arakune, so why didn't you pick him? I was actually hoping he would be on here! Sure, Relius has that finnisher, but Arakune has even creepier lore *and* just looks like a monster both in nature and dialogue. What did Relius have that Arakune didn't?
He is still a good guy deep inside relius however doesn't even have an ounce of goodness in his heart all he cares about is his science and advancement in said science regardless of how much pain it causes arakune however does feel remorse for his actions in his moments of clarity on top of the fact of not being in control off his actions which makes relius more creepy and evil cos he knows full well what he's doing and just doesn't care
My favourite thing about Relius is that his Astral Finish in the mirror match shows his opponent sitting in the same chair. I guess against himself he decides to just have a nice chat
YES I'm so happy to see Zappa on this list!! He just so happens to be my favorite fighting game character ever. I'm hardly a competitive Guilty Gear player, but I just love the dismayed "oh no" from my opponents when I pick him. Even if I don't win, I can be secure in the knowledge that I have thoroughly squicked someone out. :D Also uh, BRB, gotta go pick up Killer Instinct and master Hisako...
Nearly forgot about Merkava from Under Night in-BIRTH. A monstrous being with a human conscience is truly a terrifying thing indeed. Also Noodle arms...
"Each individual character is subjected to a different grotesque experiment to satisfy Relius' scientific curiosity." Yes... his *scientific* curiosity... and nothing else...
Mmmm, I think I can make my own list... Here it goes: Samurai Showdown 4, Basara Power Instinct Matrimelee, Ume Fighters' History, Clown Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournament, Elder Toguro World Heroes 2, Johnny Maximum (think about it) Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Freeman Last Blade 2: Mukuro (the screaming is particularly creepy)
As soon as I heard the Soul Calibur music, I knew it had to be Voldo...you know you're messed up when you are more terrifying than a character literally named Nightmare
I think a good candidate for a future list would be Jedah Doma from Darkstalkers 3, who makes use of his rapid healing abilities to attack opponents by dismembering himself, including ripping his wings off to use as weapons, bursting his nail bones out of his fingertips, and countering grab attempts by exploding his own face.
For the commenter edition - Yoshimitsu deserves recognition. Everyone in a hand to hand fighting tournament understood the rules, even a bear, but the Demon/Alien/Samurai?? Nope, he gets two magic/tech katanas
A little bit, yea, but to put it in perspective, the whole tan overcoat, tie and fedora look has been used for many characters that are supposed to be, well, mysterious.
Great list, but was disappointed not to see Gen-An from Samurai Showdown make the list. I get he's not overly creepy, but a goblin creature with a large clawed glove that laughs manically at you is still pretty damn creepy.
I seriously would have loved Gen-An in Samurai Shodown 2019. But sadly he pushed aside in favor of some bland knight (Warden) and stupid slut bunny from a LOL rip-off. Oh well, maybe they'll get him in the sequel.
100% recommend it. I can give you pointers, that’s my main. Defense is key with her and only use her offense as defense. Predict and plan with her, set up traps and catch hits with her parries.
@@rockrobster27 @RockRobster27 When I said almost, I meant it in the sense of 'I find fighting games boring and the only reason I watched this is Outside Xbox are great and make all their videos fun'. @@_-Lx-_ this. He's weird sure but he's like a kind of weird uncle you'd actually invite BACK to events
Faust is more a toon character and even him was creeped out by Zappa when he asked for his help.
Bonus points for dressing him in the grey exposed skin getup, creepy face man.
Voldo is the only character that I can play with. I don't know why.
@@gamepassghost When I think about Voldo, I remember people putting huge fluffy dicks as part of his attire.
I remember when i played soulcalbour 3 on ps 2 with wrong HZ option that made game black and white and his head looked as if his brain was out
Voldo: *"LETS DO THE TIME WARP AGAINNNN~!"*
Me: "OH GOD I HAVE 27 STAB WOUNDS AND MY RIBS ARE SHATTERED IN SIX PLACES! ALSO I'M FLYING IN THE AIIIIRRRRR!"
3:00 I thought you might not put it in. That voice line cracks me up every time.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention Meat from Mortal Kombat. You know, the guy with no skin?
Not the type of dude you want to meat in a dark alley...
Don't forget the one eyeball hanging by a single optic nerve
No Double from Skullgirls either, which is weird considering a couple tamer entries like Q.
Also,
_"Yeow!"_
oh yeah, Meat is apparently the result of Shang-Tsung's cloning experiments. Oh boy... there's even a stage showing the "Flesh Pits"..... oooh truly horrifying stuff.
Voldo is a true gentleman and you will treat him with the respect he deserves!
6. The only character that can truly be considered OP (Ogre Powered)...
one of my Fave Tekken characters.
Ellen, is that you?
Buh dum tish
LOL I miss that game. I really enjoyed playing with Tony Umeda :p
Tony Umeda was the best
@@mr.mammuthusafricanavus8299 My go-to was usually Highwayman. The fact that my brother thought it was funny to hate on Irish people may or may not have influenced such.
If I could marry a game, Bushido Blade 2 would be the one. So many good memories
Mike's most recent appearance is one of my favorites, always behind the couch he is.
"That mask! You can only be evil!!!"
The answer to: What everyone yells at me when I go anywhere since early 2000.
Just gonna point out that Blanka is Brazilian, not a “jungle man.” It just so happens that Brazilians are bright green and shoot electricity.
Point of order: He's not Brazilian - he just grew up in Brazil after crashing in a plane. See his ending where his real name is Jimmy.
Ah that's why their national flag has green and yellow. The more you know.
No Jack from Power Stone?! Immortal serial killer, looks like a mummy, and moves like a spider… now that’s nightmare fuel if you ask me.
I am guessing Andy has hundreds of these fighting game list videos already completed in his vault for filler arcs.
The Executioner from Mace:The Dark Age was a bit freaky, coming after you with a giant head-chopping axe a like a medieval Jason Voorhees.
Glad to see that Voldo hasn't been forgotten.
Well, the soul still burns after all
If they would just STAY AWAY FROM THE MONEY PIT
[exhales in territorial]
A TALE OF SWORDS AND SOULS
0:10 actually the most popular architype in fighting game is a japanese high school girl.
First grossest zombies, now creepiest fighting game characters. Andy must be missing Halloween already.
I wonder if a list of "7 of the Most Kind-hearted, Wholesome Video Game Characters" is in order.
Luke will make it, robin williams from zelda will be #1 🔮
Papyrus from Undertale
Papyrus will never not make me smile
I LOVED Voldo back in the day! 🔥
He was mentioned as "too weird for Guilty Gear" although I suspect it has more to do with "you can only hit his head for damage".
@@azuredragoon2054 Considering Guilty Gear's fighters, Leopaldon has to be next level weird to attain THAT moniker haha! If he was to be brought back he would definitely not be able to have dead zones like you say.
A.b.a is creepy too. Bandaged, bloody, and holding a huge bloody key.
just thought of how similar that name is from spiderman's robot... who should pilot the gg character then? in the gg cast?
@@ryancraig110 Okay, fair.
@@ryancraig110 And the added that his behaviour is no different even with his son.
Also uh, BRB, gotta go pick up Killer Instinct and master Hisako...
I remember seeing Voldo in my first ever game, Soulblade.
Freaky bloke gave me nightmares.
You forgot to mention that Relius did the same thing to his daughter.
I have never heard of this character before this video, and yet, he is legitimately the most terrifying thing on the list.
I feel like him and Shou Tucker would get along
And his son didn't take things well either
@@eleanorsmith7152 God damn it
@@maggiem6209 weird, I find him only mildly unsettling. Doesn't really belong on this list in my opinion
I LOVE ZAPPA SO HAPPY TO SEE HIM HERE!! THE STORY ARC ENDING WHERE ZAPPA IS IN THE MONSTER REALM IS EPIC!!
Voldo reminds me of the Slayers from the Suffering games, especially with the almost identical all-fours scuttling
I’m surprised that no one from skullgirls ended up here. Double and Painwheel were terrifying enemies
Nearly forgot about Merkava from Under Night in-BIRTH. A monstrous being with a human conscience is truly a terrifying thing indeed. Also Noodle arms...
When im lying in bed with my kitty i love rewatching these! Brings me joy!
How effective is it to tell a spirit back-talking you through its victim that they're not being very nice?
Relius Clover: Let the experiments begin
Ragna: Perverted masked freak!!!
Ragna doesnt mince words, lol.
Q is clearly Nick Valentine in a slightly cleaner trenchcoat.
Kusaregedo is the most accurate depiction of my inner demons I've seen yet
"Each individual character is subjected to a different grotesque experiment to satisfy Relius' scientific curiosity."
Yes... his *scientific* curiosity... and nothing else...
What do he do to his WIFE SND DAUGHTER, again?
Mmmm, I think I can make my own list... Here it goes:
Samurai Showdown 4, Basara
Power Instinct Matrimelee, Ume
Fighters' History, Clown
Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournament, Elder Toguro
World Heroes 2, Johnny Maximum (think about it)
Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Freeman
Last Blade 2: Mukuro (the screaming is particularly creepy)
Andy's got hold of the upload button again everyone
As soon as I heard the Soul Calibur music, I knew it had to be Voldo...you know you're messed up when you are more terrifying than a character literally named Nightmare
With all the fighting games there are, i feel that this video could end up having at least 5 parts.
I feel like that's just par for the course for Darkstalkers.
For the commenter edition - Yoshimitsu deserves recognition. Everyone in a hand to hand fighting tournament understood the rules, even a bear, but the Demon/Alien/Samurai?? Nope, he gets two magic/tech katanas
Fuck yeah! Yoshimitsu!
Y'all really made a list like this and not include ANYONE from SkullGirls? Eliza? DOUBLE? Damn.
Natural deposits of fishnet are getting harder and harder to find these days
The Hot Topic mines are running dry.
Voldo is my favorite fighter of all time since Soul Blade. :D Quick, crazy and absolutely deadly.
Andy 🤝 fighting game lists 🤝 high levels of spookening
Grade A monday content
I love this kind of humor. Simple but effective.
Ok, I’m saying it right now: Q looks like the Mysterious Stranger from Fallout 4
A little bit, yea, but to put it in perspective, the whole tan overcoat, tie and fedora look has been used for many characters that are supposed to be, well, mysterious.
And here I was thinking of Mr x from resident evil
Great list, but was disappointed not to see Gen-An from Samurai Showdown make the list. I get he's not overly creepy, but a goblin creature with a large clawed glove that laughs manically at you is still pretty damn creepy.
I seriously would have loved Gen-An in Samurai Shodown 2019. But sadly he pushed aside in favor of some bland knight (Warden) and stupid slut bunny from a LOL rip-off. Oh well, maybe they'll get him in the sequel.
Damn, Hisako is awesome. Actually almost makes me want to play Killer Instinct just to play as her character. So cool.
I actually have Killer Instinct, I'm pretty sure through Gold Games or some such, but I've never opened it because like with Andy's love of wrestling, it doesn't interest me, but sometimes makes for fun moments in videos.
Her character interests me because of the design and how creepy she seems, not for any move set or play style reasons.
Every Tekken boss after 3rd part is nightmare fuel. Ogre from 3, Jinpachi's demon stomach from 5, Azazel from 6, Demon Kazuya from 7 and worst of all ... nude Heihachi in a diaper from Tekken 4
Heihatchi is in a sumo thong
Voldo scared me as kid since Soulblade. He's mad creepy
When I first found out about the characters Zappa, Voldo, Q, Kusaregedo, Yoshimitsu, True Ogre - I was always curious about them... They do belong on horror games, TV shows, and movies. 💀
I was very happy to see Hisako on this list. A good list aside from Relius. I mean, I can see human experimentation being unpleasant, but he doesn't really seem all that creepy to me. Evil, but not really creepy.
Relius is actively terrifying in lore, his position is justified.
Being a PS1 lad growing up in the 90s, Voldo on SoulBlade scared the living bejesus out of me! Those noises and creepy ass movements were nightmare fuel for me as a 7 year old🤣🤣
To sound like an absolutely obnoxious and awful person, The martial artist archetype is called a shoto, the wrestler is called a grappler, and the giant green electric man is called a mistake
amazing the zappa entry didn't even mention how truly scary him getting sword is
At least we know that Sadako didn't waste her 30 years in that well. She kept active, and should be commended for that.
She's surprisingly fit. :D
Not a single Character from Mortal Kombat?
I was atleast expecting Mileena.
I always imagine Prudence’s spiderclimb looks the same as Voldo on all fours
nah, the ghost girl in the #1 spot. Prudence probably doesn't bend over backwards
Hisako's theme slaps though, and you can't deny that, no matter how unsettling.
Q is Nick Valentine from Fallout 4. XD
I was kinda expecting to see Baraka from the MK series. Sure he fits well in MK's lore but him and his people are terrifying especially if you think of their favorite type of food
