The Bethesda logic is that a 7.62 round does as much damage as a .50 cal round, if not more
Depends on the .50 cal round; I know we all _assume_ it's (somehow) a .50 BMG, but it could just as easily be a .50 AE, which would go to great lengths to explaining its piss poor damage and how a crude zip gun can handle that kind of pressure.
ChishioAme Sorry to tell you man, but Bethesda knows just as much about guns as I do theoretical physics. They base their guns damage on cool factor. When a literal anti-material rifle can be put to shame by a 45-70 lever action, or a homemade AK-47, something is wrong
@@thotpatrol1342 Oh, I'm well aware. My comment was intended more as a cheeky jab at how vague the calibers in 4 are.
That said, I think the biggest part of the problem is that FO4, at least, is built as an RPG that's intended to have a level cap, which you can see in how perks relevant to most playstyles cap out at about level 40-45.
After about level 50 or so, the player's damage really starts plateauing, but the NPCs' health values keep going up and up alongside the player's, so what _could_ feel balanced ends up being horribly underpowered.
Then you add in DLC that's, for all intents and purposes, meant to be played towards the endgame or even postgame (since a number of people beat the game around level 40-ish and Nuka World starts at level 30) and everything in the DLC is balanced around those endgame levels and you get absolutely borked damage values.
I've actually had the idea (like plenty others before me) and even plotted out how to rebalance the weapons based on actual ballistic data, but I've just never gotten around to it because I have no idea how to get started on something like that. Especially since I want to add in new calibers with their own models.
@@ChishioAme the day someone comes out with an utterly realistic ballistics mod, like you speak of, I will be there for it. No more people able to take a .50 AP round to the chest or head and still have half a healthy bar left, bc that's bullshit. Also no more being able to be damaged when being shot in the chest with a 9mm or 10mm pistol when wearing a fuck load of thick steel metal that is power armor. Having similar rules be set with mele weapons would also be amazing.
But honestly there'd need to be a really fast loading and easy way to just make the game reverse your progress by 5 or 10 seconds when you die - seeing as it'll be much more often with a realistic weapon ballistics damage overhaul - otherwise playing the game will get old fast lol.
And I do know of both ballistic mods and damage modifying mods that are pretty good. But what I mentioned would be a mod that I imagine would take a master script writer and modder to create, and I'm not expecting that any time soon lmao. But I'll be there for it if it actually does happen.

@@devonhc7770 Bro look for the Glock 19x mod that mod is hella sexy you get fitted with a Glock 17 that is fully customizable with the original colors and details and all kinds of modifications if you wanted a Glock 18 it's possible want a Jet Black Glock with a Suppressor and feel like your a ninja you can, just wanna unload a 40 round magazine like your in the hood you can, it's awesome try it and you won't regret it

@@ED-E469 dont undersell yourself. It is like stupid easy to build a PC. My dad who is in his 50's and knows very little about tech stuff was able to build his own PC. Before you buy one just go mess around with the newegg pc builder tool. It will allow you to pick compatible parts and show the total price. Once you get the compatible parts it is just about as easy to put together as an IKEA table.

I do this obsessive thing with my Fallout weapons where I need to give them an immersive, accurate name when I pick them up. I legit cannot move on with the game until everything I have is appropriately named. Armor, too! Gotta use lore friendly companies whenever possible, and make up the rest based on existing weapons. Even the vanilla weapons that dont have official designations. Gotta have a manufacturer, a model number/ project name, and end with with what specific kind of weapon it is. I google to find out what the closest real world counterparts are, and improvise the rest. Example: A Bozar sniper rifle mod weapon is really a Walther WA2076 Bozar Battle Rifle. A hunting rifle vanilla weapon is a Winchester XPR Renegade SR Precision Rifle. I'm not even close to a weapons expert, but I do my best. Whew! Feels good to get it all out.
Also, all the weapon mods I use absolutely must have LL integration or I can't enjoy them, no matter how much I love them. Like that Rem92 Lever Action, I love it so much, but no LL. OH! One of my favorites I've come up with. The Officers Plasma Revolver mod is a Glock R74-OI Plasma Revolver. The OI is "Officer Issue" and it makes for a neat backstory if you craft it right away. AND the RAW Launcher mod is actually the Yuma Flats Energy Consortium O87- MC Megiddo SMAW Missle Launcher, where O is "Opus" and MC is "Multiple Configuration".
Right? I love being immersed into game’s and making it my own. We can’t rely on Bethesda to do that for us. That’s what I love about fallout 4.

Oh god, I had left this video paused in the background. It loaded a random part of it and my computer just started screaming
the anti-material rifle from toasty fresh was available on console awhile back but it got taken down for some reason. i think it was ported without permission.
How did you make distant landscapes to be filled with grass. In my game there are no green grasses to be seen from afar.
If you put a better stock on the anti material rifle and put a long ass barrel on the ax 50 you will notice they look very similar and when I looked it up I found out that the ax50 became real in 2010
