  • Here is a full review of the X-Pro Mini Jeep!!! This video goes deeper into the specifications and details of the jeep so you can get more info on it.
    There’s not a lot of information on the internet about this, so hopefully this video will answer a lot of your questions.
    But most of all… if you were gonna buy the mini jeep, is it worth the money?
    Note: I do not cover the torque / power / off-road test in this video. If you wish to see it, watch my previous video here: • I Bought a MINI JEEP!!...

      Place camper/topper/tonneau cover self adhesive foam tape between the body and frame wherever they meet as well and some sound mat to the medium to large body flat panels it near completely negates the body vibration noise also it's better to use the rubber washers everywhere the body mounts to the frame (it'll prevent the body from wearing and cracking where fastened to the frame).

    Very well done video. After watching a bunch of videos it appears to me that having some mechanical experience with this type of machine is crucial to owning one of these. If the purchaser is unable to maintain his mini Jeep, a repair person on hand to fix and/or upgrade is almost essential.

      If you do buy one look into getting and installing an oil cooler kit with a thermostatically operated fan as these engines will overheat when running hard or idling for extended periods of time (more than 5 minutes at a time) as without an oil cooler and fan they can run in excess of 200°f causing engine failure.

    • @owenchabot
      @owenchabot  8 місяців тому

      It’ll pull something small, I’m not too sure what the weight limit is, it all depends on the speeds and terrain you’re wanting to tow on. However I don’t think a hitch ball or hole should be hard though.

    • @dodgeme1986truck
      @dodgeme1986truck 3 місяці тому

      Some do have a hitch some don't depends on who made it... If the one you buy doesn't have one you will want to make sure that the hitch attaches to the frame at the rear swing arm mount (not the swing arm as these swing arms tend to break while towing at the axle(known issue) also if towing it will need an oil cooler with thermostatically controlled cooling fan added (best to install even if you're not going to tow with it) as the engine oil also cools the wet clutch and idling or running hard for more than 5 min. can overheat the engine... You will need a zddp engine oil additive as well since it is a flat tappet (built into rocker arms) engine. And run no ethanol fuel (ethanol destroys the fuel system quickly).

    NEW to looking at these so sorry for what may be stupid questions, there appears to be different companies making these: a) Is this the REAR engine model? If so does the design appear that if the motor clapped out you could rig a Harbor Freight engine in it as a replacement? b) I'm looking at it as a CHEAPER way to pull my pull behind grass cutter, do you think it would pull such on level ground with ease?

    • @owenchabot
      @owenchabot  7 місяців тому +2

      Yes, there are various companies. The two main brands are Coolster and X-Pro. All other companies seem to copy from them. Anyways, Coolster jeeps have a front engine with a chain that goes all the way to the back. They have less features than X-Pro jeeps and are more expensive.
      Looking at the X-Pro jeep, they can be found on Amazon, they have more features, and they have a slightly upgraded motor (9.5 n•m torque) that sits in the back. To my surprise, the X-Pro jeep is slightly cheaper!
      Lastly the jeep has a 3 speed transmission with an impressive 1st gear. The trails we drove on have steep hills and it gets up them just fine. Depending on the weight of your attachment, it may be able to pull just fine. P.s. these aren’t stupid q’s at all! I enjoy answering them cause I’m sort of a car nerd…
      Hope all this helps :)

      I’d say the likelihood of the chain falling off may be higher on the front engine model but I’m not certain. I think you’d be just fine getting a front-engined model. Some people with the front motors actually find it a bit easier to steer when out in the snow. Hope this helps!

    • @dodgeme1986truck

      Alot of the sprocket issues come from the sprocket getting loose as well as warpage from overheating (best mod to prevent this is an oil cooler and thermostatically operated fan especially if running full throttle or idling for 5minutes or longer at a time (keep the engine oil between 100-150°f any hotter and the oil will degrade rapidly and allow the engine to overheat and warp) honestly they should come with oil coolers

And only ethanol free fuel... Make sure the rear axles bearings get greased alot of sellers don't do this during their pdi and it wrecks the axle bearings.
      Go through every fastener and make sure they are tight a good thing to do is add rubber washers to all the body mount hardware, truck camper/topper/tonneau cover foam tape between the body and frame wherever they meet as well and some sound mat to the medium to large body flat panels it near completely negates the body vibration noise.

    I almost bought one. But I was skeptical after seeing all the negative reports. The problem is the insecurity of the Chinese motor. If it were a real Honda I would not have hesitated and there is no repair depots anywhere near. If is has problems the owner is S O O L .

      Ummm…This isn’t a Real Jeep, so I’m just wondering what kind of driver you are.
      I imagine that if you had a metal body, it would be creased, dented and bent…instead of cracked; which still wouldn’t be pleasing to look at.
      I think the metal one is sold at Tractor Supply.
