Thank you for not referring to President Zelensky as a “former comedian”. Little discussion - none, actually - has centered around the fact he is also a law graduate. It’s the responsibility of the media to report that in the context of the war. It has nothing to do with acting. His leadership, courage, conviction, passion and humility are what make him a historic figure. These are attributes that cannot be faked. Love to Ukraine.

Mr. Zelensky’s speech truly spoke from the heart. I was humbled by him as he proudly wore his uniform without the 40 lbs. of metals bragging about “look what I can do?” His presence was straight across the board; a soldier delivering a strong message of unification. He wore no $500 suit that for some reason Washington believes this is their selling point. He was campaigning for his country and for all the world. This world must realize the importance of this war and the importance of protecting all the allies who will not stand for a dictator to step into their house and casually tell them they do not own it anymore. One day, Puttin will realize that it is not the LION he should be afraid of, but the cunning MOUSE who will conquer him.

My first recollection of an important speech was Eisenhowers farewell address to Congress and the Nation in 1960. I was just 4 years old but in real time understood what he was saying and those things that i did not, and was afraid of, my parents eloquently explained to me. Then of course my hero as a young child like many, John Kennedy, then Martin, then Bobby, then Lyndon. Through the years i have heard many a great orator speak to a people and mesmerize us with passion and strength of conviction. And i can also say now that i have heard another great speech from a courageous leader seemingly born into the ugly reality of real life from the world of pretend, to uphold the most important of all human endeavors. That of Freedom and the right of Defense and Self Determination. I will admit that my emotions were hard to keep in check realizing the magnitude of truth, and that is that,.. we witnessed a man defend all that America is with the blood of his people. While a lot is made of the fact that "taking the fifth" is a persons legitimate right and it can't be used against them in a court of law, the fact remains that these people who invoked their right to the fifth amendment did so for the very reason it exists. Not invoking it would've almost certainly incriminated them in the investigation of the events that happened at the Capitol on January 6th. They took an active role in trying to prevent the legitimate transfer of power in this country. They were trying to replace legitimate electors with a slate of fake electors in an attempt to change the outcome of the 2020 election in which Trump lost the Presidency. They were attempting a coup. There is no other way to explain their actions on January 6th or on the witness stand in front of the committee investigating the events that happened on that day.
