@raulflores4167 - Thanks for watching. I'm not super familiar of the areas around Key Largo. If you're planning to rent a boat, ask the rental company, they are usually pretty good a helping you find spots. Otherwise check with the local dive shops or tackle store. @@lowerkeysliving I have a boat but I’m not into lobstering. I’m more into reef fishing. Have 2 daughters that are crazy about trying to catch a lobster. But it is a bit crazy in key largo with all the traffic down here. Thank you for getting back to me
@@raulflores4167 That is great about your daughters. I have two, one loves to fish and lobster, my older one likes scouting for lobster (but not catching) and she likes driving the boat when we're out trolling. Good luck!
@@lowerkeysliving I also have 2 daughters. A friend and I am boating down from Fort Myers next week. I have been bingeing your channel !!! Thank you. Unfortunately, his boat only goes about 6-7 miles an hour.... My oldest daughter has gone scalloping since she was 4 !!!! This is my first Lobster trip. It will take us a long time to travel 10 or 15 miles to a new spot. Where do you think we should hit FIRST? Also, where do you thin would be the best spot in the middle keys for us to dock and fuel up, buy water and whatever else we may need in walking distance. We are thinking about a 6-7 day round trip, but at 6 mph it is going to take us 24 hours trolling down and 24 hours trolling back!!!

I have not stayed here but I've heard good things about the Marathon Marina www.ci.marathon.fl.us/marinaandports Also, the weather is looking pretty stable for next week so you may consider anchoring in one of several bays. Venture Out on Cudjoe has a fuel dock with some of the best on the water fuel prices and a pretty good mini-mart. They just don't have overnight slips. Big Pine Key Resort has slips, a store, and fuel dock, but I don't know if the rent to guests not camping/rv'ing. They may because this is really the low season for visitors. Shoot me an email with your draft and I can shoot you some more places.

There are literally hundreds of great lobstering spots, these are just a few. My goal here is to give people visiting for a short time an opportunity for success. But, I always encourage people to explore and search for their "own" spots. Thanks for watching.

Also, let me know which Key you're staying on and I might be able to suggest a few places close to where you may be staying. 75% of my lobster is from my SUP, there a so many great spots right in front our house I don't really need to use the boats.
@@lowerkeysliving that’s great news I was worried I would be at a major disadvantage not knowing where to go AND not having a boat! We are staying in Islamorada but are going to be moving up and down the keys so we are mobile and can travel to any good spot!

Asked differently, can you lobster within 300ft of residential and commercial shoreline after the first 10 days of regular season, everywhere (and only have to stay out of sanctuary areas (away from shore))? I’ll look for the video you refer to. Posting a link to it would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

Sure makes me cringe to see someone ride on the front of a boat like that... one split second from severe injury or death..
We only allow it at idle speeds/low speeds when we are spotting lobster. We never do it a high speed and certainly never in any type of choppy water.

Riding on the bow is illegal
