  • September 1 2004. What exactly happens when a crime-fighting programme such as Crimewatch UK gets involved in tracking down
Britain's most wanted? Nick Ross and Fiona Bruce explain the dynamics of the show which, over the last 20 years, has helped to catch criminals such as the M25 rapist and solved cases over 25 years old where the trail had gone cold.

All the crimes were terrible, especially the rapes, but the burglary of those two defenceless pensioners made me really, really mad!

Wasn’t he sentenced to several life sentences? To think he was going to be released is unconscionable.

Exactly. Imiela committed 7 rapes, 20 yrs. in prison is too lenient.

Was he really being released? Are you sure that it wasn’t before his parole hearing? I can’t imagine him ever being released.
He’s a sadist. We can’t treat sexual sadists! The psychological therapy that we were using has proven, in studies, to make prisoners WORSE not better!

He raped a 10 year old girl when he knew his DNA would give him away. Gave his DNA then raped the child the next day. Vile abhorrent monster.

All of this information is available online… given seven life sentences in March 2004, further charges in 2012 with a further twelve years. He was nowhere near release - I wish people would check the facts before they spout nonsense, it really skews people’s views of the reality of the justice system. It’s not perfect but he was literally never going to get out as old age would have caught up on him before anything approaching a possible parole date. Please be more responsible and not sensationalist.

Aw that poor elderly couple. Never have i felt so sad and appalled by anything in my life. The moment she said he didn't reply my heart broke for her. What a set of callous bastards to do anything like that to such genteel people. I don't think I'll ever forget this episode or that poor lady. Xx❤🙏❤xx

What an episode! Thank you so much! That elderly couple broke my heart 💔❤️‍🩹
I was really surprised that lady’s dogs didn’t attack? Especially given that one looked like a GSD.
Dogs can sense genuine fear from us. I was out with my Labrador one summer’s evening, about 12am, at the woods in front my house. I stood under the street lamp on the pavement while I waited for my girl to do her business. Suddenly she came and stood right in front of me. She had every inch of her hackles up. The growl was something I’d never ever heard her do that deep before.
Couldn’t figure out what the hell was up with her, thought maybe a fox was in the woods.
Not a minute later a man appeared out of the woods dressed all in black and came towards me.
The fear I felt was off the scale.
I said loudly, “she’s very protective of me!”
I wanted him to know she would attack, so he wouldn’t try anything!
(I had no reason to ever believe she would attack, I just said that to protect myself)
He continued by me and my dog and she was growling and barking but didn’t move from my side. He didn’t say a single word to me, which made it all that much more scary.
Anyway, I absolutely believe my girl sensed the danger and my genuine fear and protected me. I always feel safer with my girl beside me.

Thank God @ thank you for genuinely showing care amd love to your dog, because look how she protected you in that scary situation.. Unlike this woman and her two dizzy dogs, who couldn’t have cared less 🤣

Same happened to me in broad daylight with my staffodshire terrior, I've never before or since seen her react like that. She's 16 now! Once you've seen and heard that reaction from your dog you never forget it!

    • @Shelley-xx9kd

My fur baby is the softest daftest dog you will ever meet but I was out walking her in the dark once and a man just seemed to appear from nowhere which scared me to death ..she immediately stood rigid beside me growling this growling I've never heard before and I truly believe at that time she would've eaten anyone that came near me!! She immediately went back to her loony self once he vanished. If you love your dog and treat them properly they will defend you to the death. I wouldn't be without her. Its a shame that poor lady's dogs didn't have the same instinct. I'm sure up till that horrific time in her life she always thought they would keep her safe. Are we the minority who think its strange they didn't come to her aid? Xx❤🙏❤xx

Only 15 years for taking someone’s life in a fit of rage? That person needs locking up for life. They treat drug dealing or money laundering as a worse crime!!! What is the problem with the justice system?

How dare they treat people in the final years of their lives. Just sitting at home, eating sandwiches and watching the races. No trouble to anyone. And those creatures had the audacity to hurt them.

"I thought my dogs would save me", unlikely, in fact there are many attacks on dog walkers and the dogs do nothing. They have to be especially trained (through food treats) to respond to orders and act in defence of the owner.

    • @MalonsMilk
      @MalonsMilk 6 місяців тому +2

Yes I know they did tests for burglars coming into the house. All the owners assumed they would defend the home but half of the dogs welcomed them in and the other half whimpered and went to hide. Only dogs that are trained will defend you or the home.
