I don’t usually comment on videos - but you did a tremendous job thoroughly going over how to integrate such an item into a set up. Very impressed.
LOVED this track!! Wow. Thank you for posting, good start to my day.
thanks for this video! great job explaining things and demonstrating how it works. Im going to order my own this week!
Awesome track and demo! I bought the pedal because of you and love it!! Such a game changer for guitarists/performers.
Thanks for showing off this functionality. I was trying to create this kind of smooth workflow using other pedals but running into so many issues. The included scripts that automatically work with Ableton make jamming with myself so much more fun. Woop!
What a dope sound dude. Love the genre mixing, and all your tones and samples are sick. Keep up the good work. Super glad I found your channel.
Great vid, nicely detailed, not just a gear review. Really helps with guitar looping in Ableton. Just bought one of the Blackstar controllers
Thank you for taking the time to explain everything. This was a real masterclass and you convinced me to buy this amazing controller. I've been looking for a midi pedal for a while, as I've been on an RC300 for years I wanted to find something easy to map and as intuitive as my looper. The way this pedal arms the following track is beyond my expectations so, thank you very much !
I am sold on ditching the rc 300.. The sound quality should be better with Ableton too.
You are my hero!
This is just what I was looking for, perfect!
dudeee I love your channel, I just found it.. sensational stuff - Im stoked to have found you before you have 10 million plus subscribers.. what an artist.. thank you 🙏🏼
Great tutorial, thanks! I generally play live acoustic but am trying to up my game into a looping bass, drums and maybe keyboard.
I was watching this on my tv but had to come back on my phone to comment -
That performance was sick af, dude! I aspire to be able to do that one day but feel like I still have so far to go. I’ve played guitar for many years but am relatively new to Ableton and midi keyboards.
Anyways, keep it up. Your videos are great.
My favorite of all your video track intros I’ve seen. Something special.
Ordered! This is the intuitive solution I’ve been waiting for.
Came back to this video to watch it again after a few years, and give it a like, again, cause I had already done so the first time lol
I'm starting to include my guitar in my live set, and I remembered watching this video a few years ago, back when I was starting out in electronic production. so thanks again for this review, and the live performance!
Thank you This is exactly what I was locking for. It seems so obvious that guitarists and others would want to control Ableton with their feet. Thanks again. ❤️
I have been a fan of yours and this made it perfect
Thank you for share your knowledge
Great musician !
love your performance bro, just what i needed
Glad the UA-cam Algorithm lead me to your channel. Love what your doing. I finally realized my mpk couldn't do live looping by itself. There really isnt many people who go thru the setups like you do here; Keep Rockin man!!
Really awesome performance and review. I want one those now.
The jam session at the beginning was enough for a sub. Great stuff!
This was extremely well done and helpful. I have a very similar live flow preference and was looking for a product that communicated with live in just this way! Thank you for the break down!
thanks for watching Ross!
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for the review!!!! ;)
Wow, that's an amazing piece of hardware.. Thanks a lot for such a great review.. Very inspiring :)
this is great... very very cool. i'm taking notes about the workflow
It will serve you well!
this is incredible, thank you for the skill and the knowledge
Glad you liked it!
Great informative video, thnx!
Brilliant tutorial!
Really great performance too btw. 🔥
Great Performance!
Excelete!! Excelente!!
The performance was amazing
Bro you absolutely sold me, I play music with both hands while looping and I can't move my hand over in the middle of a riff to queue the recording to stop. This thing is exactly what I've been looking for! Maybe if people are wondering I can post an update comment once it arrives and I can test drive it
yeah dude, that would be supernice! I extremely interested in this pedal as well. Usecases I wounder are:
1) Can it work out of the box independenly of Launchkey/Launchpad? I mean to use Blackstar for triggering and looping guitars (i.e.) while using Novation to trigger synths?
2) Can you change scenes up/down with it?
3) Can you launch selected scene with it? If I'm right, potentially this thing can be mapped to be used like this
1 button - record clip
2/3 button - switch to the left/right track
4/5 button - switch to the upper/bottom scene
6 button - to launch scene
Definitely, this thing is must have device for those people, who are playing both keys and guitars/pads in Ableton Live and addicted to live lopping perfomances :)
This has clearly opened up new options as a guitarist to loop with ableton. I have a push2 but this would work easier in my situation.
More live looping videos please! This was dope bro
You should be a good rhythm guitarist. probably today you showed me what exactly I want to starting to produce. Greetings from Italy!
Honestly i might need this
Excelente
Impressive!
Just ordered a blackstar live logic. I have ableton intro and love it for guitar and electronic stuff
How'd it work?
Set the arming of tracks to be exclusive in the preferences to automatically arm next track.
First of all you're insanely talented, and Second you would be fine in a band. Third: I really enjoy your channel in terms of production and product reviews and i follow a lot.
Great video! How would you find the usefulness, or workflow changes as a push 2 owner?
This was in my honest opinion, one the greatest looping pedal for live performances! The sleek design and the simplicity of the pedal is just incredible! And of course you performance was always inspiring and just insanely awesome!
Hey man, how about a rundown of all your equipment and maybe stuff around your room, like this skull for example
"I don't really play guitar" (proceeds to kick ass on the guitar)
Thanks for the explanation. How can you go up and down in different tracks? to control different scenes in ableton?
Thank you for your great tutorial/performance! Can you overdub with the live logic pedal or just record one take on each clip? Also, Did you use global quantization for this? If so, was it set to 1 bar?
dammnn sickk !!!
hi teatro
great video!
i have a question-
do you need a full purchase copy of Ableton to do this or can the demo just be used?
thanks
Without the “Hey!”, I really felt that Lil Peep vibe coming from here. Awesome stuff! R.I.P Peep 😔
Can you record an arrangement, while doing the session? And if yes, how can you do it? Great Video!
Damn, you have impeccable taste in guitars
What do you recommend for live looping in terms of interfaces. Trying to get the best sound for all my live instruments.Wow!! Amazing:) how do you play this live? Do you have your own speakers or do you play though the house PA?
Hi, one question: is there in Ableton a button to navigate through tracks, orizzontally? I would like to map these buttons to navigate left/right through the different tracks ( and maybe auto-arm them).
Thank you for you suggestions and your great videos
Wow, that control script is super smart! Thanks for doing this demo, even if it is sponsored ;-) Awesome!
it's what takes a control to the next level
@@Taetro Talk about taking control to the next level, check this out. No more pedal dancing! Just one foot switch to rule them all. I've been working with the developer to fine tune its operation with Ableton Live and I am so excited. I did a quick short on the whole concept. ua-cam.com/users/shortszEAR6n90Zx8?si=elTE_t8bqeuCOhE1
Hi! In looking at your video, I do not detect any latency when you play guitar with the various plugins. Can you explain how you have achieved this? Thanks.
Thanks mate. Question. How would you assign or could you assign a midi button to scroll through individual clips in individual tracks...thinking of a nulti playing scenario so each member can oversee recording and navigating clips themselves in same session. Also I don't want the button to change scenes just record into single clips.
Forgot to say no hands available so no launchpad.
Thanks 😊
Nice
Newbie here, so thank you for this. I bought the controller because I'm interested in hands-free midi control. I'm curious where you found the info in the Live Logic breakdown section? Did you just figure out how all that worked on your own? I don't see anything in the product's guide about functionality and would like to learn about how to use it with Ableton beyond the pure mechanics of what switch is what. Thx!
Do you have a click track on your monitors? And if so, how are you routing it with the scarlet focusrite?
Is there an option that allows you to automatically stop recording when you stop playing on your midi keyboard? or is it done during editing to give the impression that it is chained?
Boss Level
I wanna know what keyboard stand you use to keep all the instruments on....
First like I’ve given all year.
The blackstar seems to be what I'm looking for. I'm switching from analog to digital looping and I have the lite version of Ableton; would it work on that too or I need a complete version of Ableton?
hey man!
i know this video has been out a while, but I'd be super happy if you could help me out.
Where did you find the instructions on how to use the pedal in ableton mode? it seems like blackstar does not care to inform us on how to use this thing properly - the manual does not talk about the extra functionality and i cant find any other documentation online.
great performance btw. it looks like a very cool product from how you presented it, but i can't decide if i'm going to pull the trigger on this one, or on the airstep by xsonic, which can be programmed to send regular old keyboard commands, as well as midi and up to 8 different sequential messages per button, so i wonder if i could make it work the same way, while being wireless at the same time.
thanks!
cheers
Does it do the automated selection in both session and arrangement view?
Hey man I have a question: in ABLETON template script mode, when I remap switches 6 to play and 7 to stop..
For some reason it triggers play on the press of the button, and also on the release of the button. It’s creating a double trigger because the trigger on the press and trigger on the release? I’m super confused as in how to turn it off.. I have tried to change the settings, toggle/ momentary etc. won’t work. Any ideas?
Hey, could you tell me those chords you're using? I've only been playing guitar for about a month now. Absolutely amazing job on this song, love the guitar.
Hi Taetro - at the 18:00 minute mark in the video, you show how you start and stop clips and how you delete them by holding down the switch. I have this foot controller and am not able to stop or delete clips. When I double tap or hold down the switch, the clip repeats from the beginning. Did you have to do some programming in the device to achieve this functionality? Please shed some light on how you do this. I am stumped! Thanks in advance.
So how do you record a live looping session? I understand how the loops are made but how about recording the entire performance? Is that being recorded on your Tascam or can ableton record the outputs as well as loop fragments?
Hi Taetro! Thank you very much for this video and beautiful loops! So dope...! I buy this loop pedal too! But I don't have the scripts.. :/ Where can I found it? Thank you for your help ! :D
Hi TAETRO, I'm working on a setup for live looping and editing of drums and percussions, using Ableton Live 11 and Push 2. I long for a midi foot pedal just like the Blackstar one.
How about using two of them if I have more than 6 tracks, e.G. 12? Or is there any 'bank shift' functionality coming with the pedal/script?
Hi, I do live performances using keyboards. Can I connect this directly to my keyboard to trigger the drum rolls in a style? I don't want to use a daw.
DO YOU KNOW IF I COULD USE IT AS A MIDI CONTROLLER WITH THE LOOPER BOSS RC 505? THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Is it possilbe to make the blackstar controller sync with the 8x8 grid of the launchpad, so if you for example shift the control surface of the launchpad to the right, can the blackstar triggers also shift to the right the same way?
Hello! Just a quick question on this pedal. Does it work independenly of i.e. Novation Launchkey MK3 (or Launchpad Pro)? I mean, can set my launckey/launchpad to trigger specific tracks, while using Blackstar Live Logic to loop guitars only?
Nice. You said it’s battery powered? Does it run off the usb bus power? Or?
How do you set the count before star recording the loop?
But can I overdub over those 6 tracks or can I bank shift so that button 1 continues as track 7 and on? Or am I stuck with only 6 tracks with multiple takes?
I’d like to connect 2 expression pedals and then send midi data from the pedal you’re demoing to two different midi enabled devices. Do you think that is possible?
If you could make a video with short guidance on how to set up blackstar as a looper step by step to create same effect as you showed us in this video it would be a blast! Honestly I’m still lost in terms of using blackstar as a looper same way as you do.
I've been trying to figure out how to use one of the switches to turn on/off metronome, but cant get it to work for the life of me.
you said you're not a guitarist but I wish I could play like you lol
could you do a tutorial on how to play that guitar plz?
QUESTION: Maybe you said this but I didn't 'get it'. Can I use this pedal, and Abelton Live, to lay down a rhythm guitar for an entire song, maybe 16, 20, 40 bars, whatever, have that loop, then add bass guitar in the next track, lead guitar, vocals... all live instruments and vocals. no midi instruments at all?
You hot🔥 TAETRO 🔥 thanks for posting 😆👊
Yet I a question for mpk mk3 for a linkn
Either he is faking of how is possible to play modules by cc mode and the pad light remains on..if u get the attention I wil share the link
Can I use it with iPad Garageband?
Does this midi controller work standalone to control midi gear with the standard 6pin midi jacks? Second, when connected to an iOS device or computer over usb does it act as a usb to midi interface as well? For example having some midi data routed from software to control external gear that has midi inputs?
Is the back switch for patch/custom the only way to toggle between the two? This seems absurd yet true. ITs the only thing holding my back from buying as it seems a pretty huge pitfall. or maybe im miss understanding what each do?
I have a problem with my launchpad I thought you might be able to answer. It sometimes just stops communicating with Ableton Live, it goes off, and I have to unplug it and plug it again... I have already updated my soft and of course tried using another USB cable, I don't know what else could be going wrong. Could you help me? :D
Is there a similar looping pedal for logic pro x?
Do you use a usb hub and if so which one?
is it any difference if you use logic?
is that Ableton 11? looks awesome..
