Synopsis:
In the turbulent autumn of the Republic of China, everything changed. Jiang YueLou who is commissioner of Police is both good and evil, making smuggling criminals frightened. When investigating an opium case in Hong Kong, he met Chu Ran and Chen Yuzhi, and the three became friends. Chen Yuzhi discovered Jiang Yuelou's bipolar disorder, at the beginning Jiang Yuelou refused to get treatment but later he opened his heart to Chen Yuzhi. A killer, a healer, two person with different values redeemed each other, and became friends whom they
both cherish. Chen Yuzhi eventually protected Jiang Yuelou with death. Seriously this drama is worth watching. The ending, I'm still crying for that. I really feel bad Jiang Yuelou. He lost everything, he had. For me, I was comforting myself that, he still had Dr. Cheng but the end he lost him too. That's very painful. I don't like sad ending but the whole series is really amazing. But somehow director can give live to Chen Yunzi. 🥺
And you will also notice that all women in this series all have a tragic end with tragic songs?

he really love him, you can check in the previous episode when Chu Ran came to Zhan's house for her proposal. Zhan said that eventhough he love him (Yu), Yu doesn't love him.

Not a fan of sad ending but this drama is so worth watching everything about it is perfect. I'm so glad I discovered this after the full release I can't imagine the struggle of waiting.

Chief jiang lost everything in this fight. His mother, commissioner bai who's his father figure, best buddy zhan junbai, best female friend chu ran, and finally his almost boyfriend Dr Chen. Sigh. Justice really comes with a heavy price tag. Thank you for the beautiful series. Looking forward to purchase the hopefully uncensored 📀 and photobook when it gets released. This is a series worth keeping. Great job!

Is it a bromance drama??
The red lantern in the end is a significant symbol. Before, Yuelou told Yuzhi to hang a red lantern when he's in danger. Now, Yuelou hung the lantern so Yuzhi can always find his home. This series really hurt me. I don't know how I can move on from this. As shattered as I am from the ending, this series is truly one fo the best I've seen in a long long time. The chemistry between Yi Bochen and Mao Zijun was truly amazing. It's probably too much to ask, but I really hope we can see these two amazing actors playing the lead roles together again some day.
If a scene were to be added to this series, what would you prefer?
A) A scene in which Yuzhi and Yuelou watch sunset happily together in the countryside.
B) A scene in which Yuzhi and Yuelou having horse riding happily together.
C) A scene in which Yuzhi cherishes the memory of being together with Yuelou after the false death of Yuelou.

I didnt expect Jing Da Cheng to be so badass he literally killed 1 out of 2 most dangerous antagonists in the series by himself :))))))). Btw this series derseves more attention as it is such a masterpiece!!!!!!!

"Killer and Healer" is without a doubt one of my favorites, the actors and the drama are incredible, I completely loved the role that each character played, even with that heartbreaking ending 😭, I love it completely
A few details I noticed in the ending:
1. The photo shown in the end of Chen yuzhi and Jiang yeolou is not the same as taken by Chu min meaning that they had went for a photoshoot and then framed the picture.
2. When yeolou stands with keying at the doorstep of Chen's there is a red lantern there. It was a signal they used when wanting to talk to each other. So in short yeolou just asked yuzhi to meet him again.

From the very first episode; i knew it wasn't going to be a happy ending and i was prepared for it; but i cried. All the star casts are so perfect. This drama is a rollercoaster of emotions.

I don't know why this series doesn't get much recognition - it's absolutely amazing. The script, the acting, the soundtrack. Am I sad about the ending? Yes. But it also seems to be very fitting - the whole story was so tragic it couldn't have ended differently.

You guys may not know the orginal name of this series "Hen Jun Bu Si Jiang Lou Yue": Hate that youre not the same as the moon by the tower near the river. The moon follows wherever I am but youre not like them. From that name we can infer that the two main characters can not be together. Having acknowledging this from the beginning but I can not resist crying and being sad about the ending :)

Yup. We did voice out our sadness, frustration and for some anger. Luckily MGTV / the production produced and edited HE version on youtube. They cant change the ending thus its a separate version. Im taking that as the ending for this incomparable masterpiece. You'll definitely feel better 😊.

The chemistry between Jiang Yue Lou and Chen Yu Zhi is amazing. Excellent acting -- Best of 2021. Mao Zi Jun is an amazing actor. His crying scenes are different for each person: his mom, his teacher, and Dr. Chen. He's very talented. I hope he will have a more successful career. I think because of the pandemic he didn't star in Word of Honor, which is too bad since that show has more viewers.

This series is really underrated. They story, the plot, the setting, the actors/actresses and their acting, the production quality. everything is (almost) perfect. I learnt a lot from this series. I hope everyone will notice and promote this series so it can gain more appreciation. Eventho the ending kinda sad, but I want to say that it's very realistic. JYL main purpose is to bring the justice and happiness to Jing City. Justice and happiness are expensive, the price is big. that's way eventho he brought the justice to Jing City, he still lost cuz he lose almost everything to pay his success.

Thankfully, I didn't watch the last episode after being warned by my friends. I will only watch the spinoff eps with the happy ending that the scriptwriter promised. This drama is way too much sorrowful as it nears the end, everyone dying one after another. I don't understand if "killing everyone" is the main purpose of this drama.

literally one of my top favorite dramas now. even though the ending was sad, the cinematography, the acting, music everything was top notch. i found myslef addicted to this drama couldnt stop watching fr. would definitely recommend to others and its 100 percent rewatchable. i wouldve liked a extra or a alternative ending where jiang yuelou and chen yuzhi go to the countryside far away and watch the sunset together, just like how yuelou wished to do this with his lover 🤍

I was on my way to home And Jiang Yuelou face was infront of me whole time. His expression, Yuelou looking at Yuzhi eyes, caring and protecting him, his hand rubbing Yuzhi's back and face, his side hug, their real hug, his tear, crying face, almost his every emotion. I feel so heavy so bad that tears roll down my face.. I know its not real but I get emotional on drama My feeling for certain character develop too deep that I can't forget and move on.. You people should care about our feelings. If not happy ending atleast not sad too

I will admit that I truly enjoyed watching this series from beginning to end and I really liked the way the friendship between the two of them grew and blossomed into something more and if given the chance I truly believe it would have ultimately become a love relationship. Like many of you I wish it had a better outcome without so many of the main characters being killed off in such tragic ways, but then I guess that helped to make it a bit more realistic in some ways. The dying scene for Dr. Chen would have been the perfect situation for the two of them to have shared a very sweet and gentle kiss, but that's just the hopeless romantic in me talking. Even the most sinister and hateful character was one of the most handsome guys that you wanted to give a great big hug and try to warm his heart up to become a kinder person. The ending makes me think there is more to come for Jiang Yuelou as he continues his crusade as the commissioner to fight crime in the next chapter of this series (hint, hint). I give it two very big thumbs up and I hope there will be more to come in the near future. Bravo!!!

I saw Yuelou smiling brightly and Keying little surprised at the end. so it means Chen return from hospital and they will happily live together. Even if it is just in my imagination they live happily together

its okay everyone, the scriptwriter said they hate the ending too so they choose to make a spin off ending. it's an happy ending. it's still official too. for this ep, they said to watch it only up to when they talked about eating Tang Yuan (it's the happy ending type 1) but if you want to watch til the end of this ep and hate the ending, you can go to watch the spin off ending (happy ending type 2)

Absolutely fantastic drama. Superb acting, story, OST, production, set and costumes. The perfection is marred only by the unbelievable tragedy of the ending. Just when I thought there would be one light left in his life, the light was snuffed out. I’m not sorry that I watched it, though. Omg , the ending music doesnt do justice for my heart, im cryingsoooo. He end this just like he wanted too killing what was most precious to him. As american viewer i see why this ia rated as top 10 bl shows along with Untamed, Addicted, Word of honor and Advance Bravery they are all.had great script and fantastic cast. I must say 2 Mls in this series were outstanding, but I take my hat off to Mao Zijun that brother carried this show on his back, he's good as well as Ian Yi and Chen Cheng . Kudos!!

I should saw the sign, when they killed Keying in a car explosion. But damn Chief Jiang and Dr. Chen chemistry was undeniable it got me addicted. Kudos for all actors, and production team. Thank you for brought such beautiful drama to us. I dont care about the ending. For me the ending is Chief Jiang and Dr. Chen live happily with Keying, watching sunset together, the three of them and oh... that cat! And none die! What a journey!

Was it REALLY necessary to kill doc?! As a common rule in the literatures, a protagonist fought so hard to eradicate evil and lost so many important ones beside him, he’s allowed to keep at least his lover at the end. What kind of heresy is this?! Their separation is so unjustifiable. (The alternate ending doesn’t comfort me. The damage is done.) The actors done phenomenal job and really wish they can be together in a proper happy ending drama! 👍👍🌹🌹❤️❤️

i love this series. i hate the ending but this is the best sad ending i have watched in a bl. even if the ending is not what we hoped for i am still thankful to all the actors and crews for this masterpiece.
Thank you MGTV Drama for bringing us this great series and introducing us to the handsome and very talented actors Ian Yi and Mao Zi Jun. The whole cast did a wonderful job. My heart broke when Dr. Chen died but so glad there is another ending. Please have a Season 2 to continue this story of Dr. Chen and Chief Jiang.
This is the only c drama I watched till the end😊. I feel so sad 😢 eventhough there isn't a single kiss scene I fell jiang yeolo and chen yuzhi's love more than any, korean, or thau bl drama❤😢
This was all love and really the friendship between Jiang and Yuzhi and between Executive Zhan and Boss Yu is kinda my ideal friendship. This series was really an emotional rollercoaster. I really fell in love with the ending because, in the end, both friendships proved that they are ideal and the best examples of friendship.
No matter how much this drama is depressing espicially towards the ending ,,
it still is amazing drama with amazing leads and really one of the best Friendship dramas I've ever seen

It Just can't take this sad ending though it's a beautiful drama! It hurts so much seeing the last scene. But thank you for making such a beautiful and wonderful drama with gorgeous actors, great acting, very good cinematography and directing, and remarkable music and songs.
Everybody despite the bad ending, both Actor Jiang Yue Lou and Chen Yuzhi has dedicated the fullest effort for this film on top of their genuine chemistry from very beginning. We should do our best to promote this film to international BL fans and international fans. Dun let both actors disappointed just bcoz fucking cencorship of MGTV (editing Division) and bad promotion. This Story is Indeed Perfect from storyline, actors and music.
So many viewers are asking for season 2, but not very many Chinese series have season 2. Even the super successful Untamed drama does not have season 2. This series is not considered successful, because of the lack of viewers. But I agree that it would be great to have season 2 with Jiang Yue Lou and Chen Yu Zhi together solving another crime. Mao Zi Jun is super good looking in this drama, and the chemistry between Jiang Yue Lou and Chen Yu Zhi is amazing.
I'll would rewatch this series again even if it ended like this I still love it
Can't wait for these two yo do another series/movie together
