Your video was the best one I watched. It was the only one that described completely how to unlatch the air filter cover. Others just said unsnap it which left me wondering whether to squeeze, pull, pry or twist and how much. Thank you!
I have looked at 6 or more videos on how to do this air filter replacement. This is the best by far! Great job, especially showing how to remove the glove compartment. Thanks!
@@ruffdawg40 Definitely harder to take off. I had to put quite a bit of pressure. Remember like the video says. Put pressure then squeeze/push to the right side don't pull foward.
Thanks a lot for the lesson! When I had removed my blower motor there was some kind of filter right above it. I didn't know what it was. Should I remove it or replace it? Thanks again.😮
What year did dodge Ram start having this filter. I have a 2007 and do not recall anything about it in manual. Just paid to have one changed in Explorer. Scared of breaking a clip.🦇
What he said about the filter cover is true...... If the filter has been changed before. My 2011 ram I had to cut the sealed unit to get to the filter. Theres videos out there to do this.
I just watched a video, and I see that not all of the trucks came with a filter. I will need to cut along the area to insert it. Kind of funny. Looks easy but weird.
For a certain time, RAM put trucks out with a CAF. It is not hard to purchase the retrofit kit which has a door and CAF. I just saw a video on UA-cam that showed a person doing it. It takes about 20 mins if you have a slight mechanical ability...
They have videos out there on where and how to cut access... Guessing the cover is a dealer item that may cost a fortune I haven't checked ebay yet before doing mine
@@how2togo wrong. My 2014 Ram didn’t come with a cabin filter. The cabin filter door was flush which I had to cut to open it and then a filter and door could be installed.
I have a 2016 2500 Tradesman, the lowest trim Ram has. Mine wasn't blocked off, and there was a cover as shown in this video, but no filter installed. Most videos show a solid block off that has to be cut out to install a filter on the lower trim levels. There is no indication that someone cut out the filter hole, so that has me wondering.
It is dumbfounding that dodge made trucks for years without filters - but had the space for it. Says one who is dealing with a crusted over evaporator. Really not happy Dodge. 2012 Ram...
This is the first video that actually showed how the release tabs on the filter opening work. Thank you
Great video.. but I just now checked to find out my Ram was not sold with a filter..there's no opening for the filter.

Thanks for the video! About to change the filter out in my 7-year-old truck that I've never changed it in!
4/22/22 I watched video and was able to replace cabin filter on my husband's 2020 Ram 2500...Thank you!
Is the glove box hard to get back on?
It's harder to take off. Very easy to out on.

Thank you for the information. Blessings

Thank you! Learned a lot from your video.
Thank you! Quick and easy. Much appreciated.
Thank you for this awesome video!!

Everyone else disconnect the little cable on the right hand side, so simple (in/out) but you leave it on placing a strain on it.
Why?
Thank you
If it's too fine of an airfilter your arconditioner will work harder and put more strain on your motor.
What is the filter size?
Look in the description. There is an Amazon link to purchase it in the store.
Use the PureFlow cabin air filter Brand next time.. They're very good quality filters
My 2015 has a solid area. Doesn't have tabs to pop out. Looks like it's fixed

Every car comes with an in cabin air filter. At least newer models for the 2000's

I guess my 06 doesn't have a cabin air filter 😮
Windows closed!!! Shit my wife has been telling me that forever!! But I like the wind in my hair 😉
👍
Woah, I thought I recognized the neighborhood. I literally live a couple streets over. Small world haha

DOES NOT APPLY for SLT model Rams! No Cabin Air Filter at all.
