  • Tump! Immigration! Insurrection! Muslim Tavel Ban! Elon Musk! What do any of those things have to do with a discrimination lawsuit against Red Hat, the worlds largest Linux company? Well... nothing. Nothing at all. But Tech News outlet, The Register, wants you to stop thinking about Red Hat doing something wrong... and, instead, be angry at anyone who would attack Red Hat. Because Trump. Or something.
    All of the Red Hat / IBM leaks:

      its a shame because journalists are suppose to be one of the most integral parts of an honest society. But rare is it they don't just lie about everything.

    The Register started going this way about a decade ago. I don't put such animosity down to advertiser pressure, it's more likely because of unchecked bias in universities.

    First time I was discriminated against for being white was when I asked state health why I was waiting so long for healthcare.
    White people have to wait the person on the phone said to me.
    I called the attorney general and only got to leave a message and never got a response.
    The second time was when I finally got a doctor to treat an electrical burn when the dermatologist told me I was confusing pain with white rage because I shouldn't be having such pain.
    For thenext two years that doctor had me thinking about what white rage was and how I was confusing it with pain.
    That was around 2014.
    I didn't think much aboput saying anything about it until the last couple years this kind of thing has got exposed.
    I was lucky to survive.
    Can you imagine surviving an electrical hazard created by a dei city engineer who put lives at risk to end up waiting for health care because white people have to wait just to have the first doctor they send you to tell you it's not pain you are experiencing it's white rage.

      @@jamestillman5247 I eventualy got before a judge about the issue. There was no lawsuit only liability towards continuing treatments. I can tell you the judge who was shocked at what I told them and they asked if I went on social media about it. I said no because I agreed to avoid it for that job. It was the judge who said I should try telling the story on social media if I have to. I wanted to forget about it but I was misdiagnosed and not treated properly and living with that has been hard to put into words. Most people don't believe me and I don't want to believe it either. But I am sure they investigated things like my phone calls to the attorney general and state health. How things turned out is these dam electrical burns won't heal and I still change bandages that leave me grumpy and so I rage post a bit but I earned the right! Will be seeing new doctors about long term immune treatments seeing as the last doctors are telling me I may need treatments the rest of my life if I can tolerate it.
      'We don't know what 277 volt lighting will do to you if you get hit by it'. They told our class
      I did a thousand jobs safely up to that point because some engineer locked us out of the panel and opened the pool to the public when we asked them not to. But did they listen to a senior electrician and his concerned apprentice? Nope.

    The reg has always been the site for people that say they "work in IT" in the same way that people that chain together python libraries for a living call themselves "full stack developers". It's not a surprise that the essence of their hot take is bad thing is ok as long as it happens to person I think is bad.

    Many such cases…. I work for a large multinational company and they have the exact same goals and legal tactics to promote minorities over existing white males. The number of white males that have been hired over the last five years is nearly 0.

    Aa much as it is a problem, it's too easy to fixate on a narrative of anti-white male sentiment even if its the case. Like, the end point should be Redhat and its parents being merit first instead of attacking certain ethnicities and using quotas.

      Sometimes they're just in the "newest first" section - I currently see 17 advertised and 17 available, though I think they've fixed the bug which counted removed comments. When there are only a few comments you can see which ones did or didn't make the "top comments" list, and get an idea of what our overlords favour.

    Actually I've read numerous stories in The Register over the last few years about IBM's alleged discrimination. One that I remember well is IBM firing their senior workers - those approaching retirement - in order to avoid certain retirement benefits and bonuses. So I don't agree that The Register have their head in the sand regarding this issue.

    • @shaunpatrick8345
      @shaunpatrick8345 4 місяці тому +7

      The tone is not due to IBM, it's because journalists don't like it when people they disapprove of fight back against discrimination they approve of.

      Why didn't the author linked these allegations to this one? He looked up online conversations of the alleged victim and didn't care if the claims are true or not.

    the fact that you are in no way skeptical about "evidence" provided by James Okeefe the boy who cries wolf, shows your views pretty plainly. it shows you are ok with being lied too as long as those lies affirm youre beliefs

    • @JohnDoe-ip3oq
      @JohnDoe-ip3oq 4 місяці тому +10

      I'm more skeptical about your skepticism, because Keefe always has proof, and your argument is that you don't like keefe. That's not how evidence works. It doesn't matter who brings it up or the methods used to obtain it. The methods or keefe wouldn't even be necessary if other people would step up. The biggest example of this is Edward Snowden who IMO pulled a lot of support away from Alex Jones. But then again, I don't think people like you want more acceptable alternatives, because that ruins the whole ad hominem tactic. That said, this tactic has played itself out after years of abuse, and nobody cares anymore aside from the most mentally deranged ideologues. Gamer gate 2 is the biggest example of this, the public doesn't fall for the nonsense anymore, the abuse is not going to be covered up.
