  • THE COMPLETE PACKAGE
    Pioneer’s 5-channel amplifier produces impressive power in an all-in-one solution designed to deliver big sound without sacrificing space. Ideal for any vehicle including compact vehicles and pick-up trucks with limited real estate, the GM-D9605 also offers installation flexibility for a variety of other applications including boats and ATVs/UTVs.
    PACKS A PUNCH
    The 5-channel amplifier is rated at 2000 watts max with the A and B channels rated at 75 watts x 4 (RMS) and the subwoofer output rated at 600 watts at 2 (RMS). Compared to similarly priced multichannel amplifiers, the variable crossover networks on the GM-D9605 offer increased flexibility and give listeners more control. Block terminals for a cleaner installation and direct wire contact minimizing resistance.
    VARIABLE LOW PASS FILTER
    For extra flexibility, a variable LPF makes audio frequency more adjustable according to subwoofer characteristics and personal listening preferences. The GM-D9601 LPF is adjustable from 40 Hz to 240 Hz.
    TURN UP THE BASS
    The GM-D9605 also features a Bass Boost Remote for optimal bass level adjustment according to listening preferences and music characteristics.
    SPEAKER LEVEL INPUTS
    What, you DON'T own a Pioneer headunit? Well, we won't hold it against you. In fact we'll even help you build onto your system. The GM-D9605's speaker level inputs allow simplify integration into existing aftermarket or factory installed (OEM) integrated entertainment systems so you can connect your OEM unit (or any unit that doesn't have the typical RCA-type inputs) without having to buy add-on adapters. So, the install goes faster, you save money, and you've got a Pioneer amp in your vehicle.
    VARIABLE LOW PASS FILTER
    For extra flexibility, a variable LPF makes audio frequency more adjustable according to subwoofer characteristics and personal listening preferences.

    Per Dean's request, I bought this amp and the similar Kenwood 5ch and will test and compare both soon! 5ch amps are a great and clean way to power a complete system, but we will see how they perform vs rated.

    I have this Amp hooked up A(tweeters)+B(6x9s)+Sub with all three RCA inputs coming from a Pioneer head unit. For some reason, I get NO SUB output. I did get sub with only A feeding all speaker outs, but not with A+B+sub configured. Any idea why no Sub? (Sub speaker works fine. Fuses and wires are good.)

    Great video, thanks for the information. The manual states that when using three channel bridge mode you can only use 4 and 8 ohm loads. Does this also apply to the sub out when in bridge mode or can I use a 2 ohm sub? 4 is ok in that I am more interested in signal quality over raw power and volume. Thanks again.

    I have the updated version of this amp (9705) and I have a LC7i connected to it. Is there a MAX input level I can send to the amp? (I chose the LC7i for the AccuBass feature). For some reason when I turn the output of the LC7i up AT ALL from it s lowest settings while the gain is at its lowest setting on the amp, I get a really bad noise, like its over driving the input to the amp. The more I turn it up the worse it gets. Even with the system volume at 0. For now, I have the LC7I outputs turned all the way down, and the gain on my amp UP. From my understanding, this is exactly backwards. I can play it just fine with very minimal noise for now, but would like to make sure I'm getting the cleanest signal/sound possible. Help? (Good wires, and triple checked grounds.)

    You said when bridging, you would get 200x4 (around 6:00 in), you must've meant 200x2? Thats a ton of power for the front speakers, should push my new Alpine SPR-60C's pretty nicely! Thanks for the great breakdown.

    do i have to use the 4 channel high-level input plug if I'm running the speakers straight to amp? and also isn't this amp 2000 watts 5 channel? I'm going to run 2 front door speakers and two REAR side speakers and a 12inh kicker woofer. I was told that this is a great amp for that. please let me know ASAP. Thank you

    • @rawle100
      @rawle100 5 років тому

      No you would not necessarily have to use the hi-level input plug. This amp has a maximum rating of 2000 according to Pioneer which is essentially meaningless. A far more accurate way of gauging an amp is to look at the RMS rating or continuous power handling. Which for this am is 4 x100rms at 2ohms, 600rms sub at 2ohms or 4x75rms at 4ohms, 300rms sub at 4ohms. It should be able to power a kicker l7 but the kicker l7 12 would be somewhat underpowered by the sub channel of this amp. Either look for their lower ranked offerings or a Sundown E series or similar rated sub might be more suited to the output of the sub channel for this amp.

    Thank you for this video!
    Your comment on generating at 2:26 and autofilling at 2:58 is not in the manual.. Just saying. Or if it is I missed it.
    My head unit does not have RCA. I have a PAC Amplifier integration interface AOEM-GM1416 converter but it only has 4 RCA outs. That's why I bought this amp to give power to the subs.
    Actually there is a question, which way is better, using the interface or the SP input?
    And I have heard of this amp popping and hissing, have you experienced either of these?

      Five Star Car Stereo my only 2 concerns are that I have a pair of Punch P1675-S for "front" and Rockford P1675 "rear" their rated 55 to 60 watts and the RF-P1000X5 are rated 75 x 4 its this will be to much for the Speaker to Handle..and the 5th channel I'll be installing a P3D2-15 to give it @ 1 ohm 500w rms.. it this will be under powering the sub..or I have to get the P2D2-15?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  7 років тому

      Edrick Mendez no this amp will be perfect for your system. The speakers will eat up that power no problem. Remember you are going to cross them over( block bass) that will increase there power handling. The p3 15 will is the right woofer for the amp, definitely not a P2.

    1) Pioneer GM-D9605 5-channel amplifier
    I am considering adding 2 more 5-way 6x9's. Is it a way to wire all 4 6x9's into the rear channel of the amplifier, and maintain a 4-ohm load. I am trying to keep a single amp system, while slightly increasing my vocals & midrange levels.
    Also, would adding a Clarion EQS755 7-band graphic equalizer / crossover be a beneficial addition to my setup, or would it be "fighting" with the Kenwood's built-in crossover?
    Any advice you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated. I respect your knowledge, and love the work you do.

    In my just installed setup I have a set of coaxial's powered from channel A. I have the "lpf/off/hpf" switch to off. Does the Frequency knob then become irrelevant since I'm not trying to cut either the highs or lows to this channel or does it still play a role in the overall tuning of this channel. Also I'm trying to understand the slope switch on the SW channel. Thanks!

      Joshua Skversky if set to off yes the frequency knob does nothing. It is know much of the frequency you want it to stop playing and at what level. Example at 80hz 12db it is still play 100hz it is just at a lower volume. If it is set to 18db it will be at an even lower volume. There is no right or wrong just what sounds good to you.

      You should be fine. Make sure your xover and gain are set right. Tune them with the sub unplugged so you can hear any distortion or clipping. When they should right plug the sub in and do a final tune on the sub.

    You guys are great! I have a question about my install. My HU is a pioneer DEH X6500BT. Currently I have installed 2 10" pioneer ib flats wired at 2 ohms on a mono block pioneer 8601. I've recently purchased Image Dynamics 6.5 100 watt rms component's with crossovers for the front and Image Dynamics 6.5 100 watt rms coaxials for the rear. Everything is strategically sound dampened and I've used ofc 4 and 12 gauge for the system. I want to ditch the mono block amp for this one but, my HU only has a pre out for the sub and a pre out for a front channel. I believe you somewhat covered this senerio but, could you please inform me if this amp is for me, how to set the AB channels and is 16 gauge adequate for all my Image Dynamics? Sorry about the long question or questions. It's my 1st stereo build. Thank you kindly in advance for any help you can provide.

      +Drum Tech yes this amp will work. You would use the front and sub input. Turn on the ab switch on so the front feeds the rear input. The wire is a perfect size. 👍

    Lol! Waiting to get blocked from you guys. So many questions that I can't seem to get from around my area. :( So now that I have my new Pioneer AVH-X5800BHS installed (Upgraded from my Pioneer AVIC-N4) I am looking to replace both my MTX Amps. 4ch rear RCA not working and gain is having problems...The sub amp is fine, but I am looking to replace both with smaller foot print versions. Not looking to blow the windows out...both amps now did a great job of rocking the outside mirrors. I am interested in your best thought on weather to go with the MTX or how do you feel about the Pioneer units and which ones would work nicely for my application? I would like to keep the setup ( "Brands") to either match the Head unit or the sub. Don't want to go cheap, but I also can't break the bank. Quick run down of whats in the truck now.
    MTX Thunder 564 4ch, 70 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms
    140 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms
    280 watts RMS x 2 bridged output at 4 ohms
    2-, 3-, or 4-channel output
    4-ohm stable in bridged mode
    Tri-way capable (Tri-Way crossover required)
    requires 4-gauge power and ground leads - wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
    PWM MOSFET switching power supply
    variable 50-200 Hz high-pass/low-pass crossovers (12 dB/octave high-pass, 24 dB/octave low-pass)
    ThunderEQ bass boost (up to 18 dB at 40 Hz)
    MTX TC4002
    RMS Power Rating:
    4 ohms: 100 watts x 2 chan.
    2 ohms: 200 watts x 2 chan.
    4 ohms Bridged: 400 watts x 1 chan. Speakers are all Polk Audio.Front DB690...300 Watts peak/100 Watts RMS, Rear-DB650..180 Watts Peak/60 Watts RMS. MTX Thunderform W/Two Thunder 4500 Subs 10" 4-ohm, Power range: 50-225 watts RMS Peak power Handling:450 watts. I also have a set of Polk Audio DB351...105 Watts Peak, .35 Watts RMS, brand new in box...that I would like to put up in top part of dash...but not sure how to hook them in to the system? Thanks guys! i appreciate all your time...making the vid's and answering questions. Big fan of yours! Frank G.

      Ask away, it's all good. We sell and install a ton of the Pioneer amps, they do not disappoint. The 4channel GM-D9604 would be a great replacement for your old 4 channel. I installed this amp in a 2012 Mustang GT with a Shaker 500 I works great I hooked up 4 speakers through the speaker input and wired a system remote to the antenna and with or without the remote it will not turn off. It stays on and drains the battery. Any idea how to remedy this?

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  8 років тому

      The amp has an auto turn on for remote when using high level. Has it killed the battery yet? The amp should go to sleep a short time after all the doors and trunk are closed. It will stay on if they are open because the radio puts out a low amount of voltage to the speakers that tricks the amp to stay on. If you open a door or trunk the amp will turn on. The only way to stop this is to go with an out board high to low.

    • @brentsmith3745
      @brentsmith3745 8 років тому +1

      +Five Star Car Stereo The battery did die originally but that was due to an issue I was having with the door locks not locking but that is now fixed. I has been fine. No dead battery. It was impossible to tell that the amp was going to sleep because every time i open the trunk it was on.

      Pooya Rahbaran chances are good you may have blown the tweeters. Typically you would run that type of tweeter with a midrange or coaxial speaker. If you want to run them on there own channel you would want a beefier tweeter. Did you use the crossover that came with the tweeter?

Having trouble getting the sub to work? All connections are properly set up. Wondering if it has to do with either the gain, frequency or slop adjustment? What kind of trouble are you have? No bass, sounds funny ? It sounds like you have the amp set up right. A good starting point is 80hz, also make sure you plug in the bass knob. You don't have to use it just plug it In turn it up. The bass knob is an EQ for the amp and with out it the amp sounds very flat.

      Redondo Cenon any speakers with 100 watts rms
      and a sub with about 400watts rms

      It can do 600rms @ 2ohm... why not get 2 tens @ 300watts @ 4ohm and wire them in parallel for a total 2ohm load and 600 watts RMS? I'm looking at the TS-W256R's from pioneer which are exactly that.

    Can I run two Pioner TS-W3003D4 @ 800 Watts RMS
    1 OHM?

      Jake Eitel it will only do a 2 ohm load not a 1 ohm

      That sub is only rated to 600 W RMS, anyway. I wouldn't put 33% over-capacity into a sub. In fact, the 9605 discussed here is an absolute perfect match, as it puts out 600 W RMS at 2 Ohm.

    2 ? can i run 2 12" subs at 2 ohms at 600 rms and 4 4 ohm speakers at 75 rms can this amp do that jw

    • @FiveStarCarStereoInc
      @FiveStarCarStereoInc  8 років тому

      Yes it will do that just fine. It will be 300 watts per sub so nothing crazy. 2 basic 12s is what we typically do, for example a 2 Kicker Comp 12 box works.
