It hurts watching this as a vet. Those officers tried their best that day. It kills me seeing the male officer separate from the vehicle while he fights for his life instead of hugging the vehicle and manipulating his cover. This is why there needs to be a course that police can go to where they pair up with combat vets and go over urban warfare, and basic combat lessons.
They almost certainly had that training. The sad truth is many people simply panic and so something stupid regardless of training. I'm just curious, why would two officers approach a man who they knew was armed and dangerous? Why wouldn't you have an entire team with you and maybe the SWAT? Just seems like a better idea...
You’d be amazed how many people ramble about irrelevant stuff when calling for an emergency, like the dude talking about how he pulled over for a dog & oh yeah, there are officers & a bad guy down. Part of it is their brain struggling to process what it’s seen & integrate the unexpected trauma into the normal life they were experiencing a minute ago. I’m an Emergency Medical Dispatcher & the first two questions we have to ask are the location & verify the phone number in case we get disconnected. The number of people who have no idea where they are & say “it’s my phone” or “my sister’s uncle’s cousin’s neighbour’s phone” before they start talking about the emergency by saying “my cousin’s nephew’s best friend came to dinner & we were just out on the balcony talking & then my dad rang & said my mum had a fall & can’t get up & she’s not breathing”. When people get into fight/flight/freeze mode, the higher functioning of the brain shuts off & thinking tends to become less logical & more basic. It’s kind of fascinating really. Frustrating a lot of the time, but fascinating how the brain works. People who deal with emergencies all the time (like first responders) either already have a predisposition to retain more critical thinking during emergencies, or we learn to do it through repeated exposure & specific processes
And some people are just dim bulbs. When the dispatcher asks for the location, you give the damned location first. It's critical. You don't ramble like an idiot.

I love how the media goes nuts over multiple guns in a home, and a few boxes of ammunition. Anyone that is even moderately into shooting sports, or does competitive shooting, is likely going to have far more than that. You wouldn’t even think of going to a cowboy action match with less than 400 rounds. A lot of comments about lack of training, yet no one even mentions that all three vehicles are SUV's. At 1:04 higher profile vehicles instead of lower profile cars.....nothing but a wall of vehicles who can navigate this? Culprits can really move out of sight around all this metal and hide behind and get their shots off. That officer saw a glimpse of the culprit who was already his firing position and the cop ventured out for a better shot and there was no cover or back up plan in his fateful decision.
Heartbreaking... And I can't figure out the calm, nonchalant voice of the "man" who pulled over and watched it all go down. He must live outside reality. What a piece of work.
LOL, everyone handles things differently and to expect everyone to panic and be in distress in every situation is wrong. Do you expect him to be hysterical and screaming like a wuss? Real men are calm and collective in situations like this. And truthfully when you see things through someone like my eyes as a conservative man who experiences a lot of hate for who I am not to mention who watches a lot of body cam footages, you tend to lose any care for what happens to most people. It's sad what happened but I honestly would be more sad if it were dogs that were shot over people.
*That is not an AR-15.* That is .22LR S&W MP-15. It differs greatly from an AR-15, notably in the caliber of ammunition. It is not classified as an AR, more so a replica for plinking and sporting. Edit: Also noteworthy, is the MASSIVE scope. A .22LR round with that rifle is accurate to maybe 100 yards. That scope is designed for something up to 1000 yards away. It shows the incompetence of the firearm user.
Our corrupt Family Court is responsible for this tragedy. Child support is frequently levied at an untenable level--and it puts police officers at risk for no good reason. Then law enforcement pretends that the victimized father is to blame. The Family Court judge should be prosecuted.

What laws would have changed this situation? A gutless freak decides to unload on cops. What law changes who people are? Now if laws are what you're after then maybe gun laws are a good place to start.
If only he'd of been banned from owning guns.... it'd of magically teleportated them all out of his house and he'd of 100% complied with the ban.
Right? Because they think criminals obey laws…
😂
@@Kevin-zz9du So why have laws at all if criminals won’t follow them?
@@kyzrsosay LOL, But gun laws are against our constitution and they don't work. Chicago has the strictest gun laws yet they have The highest crime rate in the country. We are not saying that we shouldn't have laws, But clearly you are not educated properly. The bad guys will always get the guns. How about instead we focus on trying to fix the real problem, m*ntal il*ness and stuff that actually contributes to violence.
@@kyzrsosay criminals don't follow laws
A man with nothing to loose, not the epitome of evil
Rest in peace, Officers. Rest in pieces, Perry
There's too many people with guns who should not have guns.
Officer's 😢 paid the ultimate sacrifice ❤️ thank you for your service and sacrifice 🙏. God bless their families.
I wounder why the cops threw stones at glass house when they live in a glass city of trickery and murders
That Glock jamming cost that officer his life
In order to clear that stove pipe! U tap rack and Bang !
Thoughts and prayers to those brave officers and their families.
Very brave to not take cover. I don't have that type of bravery
Heartbreaking... And I can't figure out the calm, nonchalant voice of the "man" who pulled over and watched it all go down. He must live outside reality. What a piece of work.
he was in complete shock
Just because you turn into a blubbering little girl during times of stress doesn’t mean everyone else does
LOL, everyone handles things differently and to expect everyone to panic and be in distress in every situation is wrong.
Why does the sound cut out between 1:26 and 1:31. Super weird... the audio just goes blank for 5 seconds and kicks back on.
they probably removed it so the video wouldnt be removed for too graphic sound or something
This is the moment officer screamed before dying n that's horrific
So sad two dedicated and brave officers lost their lives.
Almost all of our police have ar-15s, either in their cars or on their motorcycles.
Wow, I didn't know you could mount rifles on a motorcycle!
The ejection port looks a little large for 22LR
@@Finder76I agree, the magazine is pretty big for a 22 round as well.
Go to 6:50 and you’ll see the magazine out of the gun and stripped of all the bullets, they’re not 22lr
Bonehead comment of the day.
Yes. At 6:50 it shows a different rifle than the early part of the video. Which does have a .22lr mag.
RIP officers
Our corrupt Family Court is responsible for this tragedy. Child support is frequently levied at an untenable level--and it puts police officers at risk for no good reason. Then law enforcement pretends that the victimized father is to blame. The Family Court judge should be prosecuted.
Those types of situations aren't even worth risking your life for unpaid child support
Double telescopic optic on an “AR15”? That’s a fucking .22 😂😂😂😂😂
6:50 .223
@@RungunBisnusthe one he used to shoot first was a .22 LR rifle
RIP to those brave officers. I'm Black and as a young man I was taught to hate them

you will go home. At some Point😯😯👊👊😎😎
Cop got killed over child support, his ex is definitely not getting any money now
maybe dont try to arrest people for unpaid child support?
Did he seem like a stable individual to you? Who gets into a gun fight over child support?
@@Caseman91291 regardless, unpaid child support is a civil matter, the police shouldnt be involved, how is he supposed to make more money to pay it with this on his record...
Well I most certainly understand the man's distaste for cops and government.
Dang seeing a jam in that situation. What do you do?
The curse of Superman
Child support warrant, I bet his address was on it..
RIP officers.
Police met their match...
Dayum dude was LooooNG range sniping the poopoo 😅
Rip officers, you gave the ultimate sacrifice
"Unpaid warrant for child support" in other words he is probably going to be homeless because his responsibilities > his income. The most dangerous man is the one with nothing to lose.
Dont get married guys, its not worth it.
The most dangerous man is the one with a mental illness and access to firearms.
