I love Herriot. I read him as a kid (I wanted to be a vet)… and even went up his home in England. It’s written in a diff time but I think it’s still good. I hope you like it. Also try My family and other animals” if you like animal books
Ananis (hope I spelled that right) sounds like the one you should pick up. I think my pick would be "say Nothing" by Keefe. I loved reading House of Pain and I heard so often this is as good so this may push me to get to it this month--its been on my shelf for over a year.
I think Ananais would still fit the bill. BUT. Michael Hingston is awesome (great guy, Edmonton superstar). It’s a pretty fun book. He’s actually coming out with a new show for CBC called Top Shelves where he interviews people about their book collections 😮. Thus, I am no help. They both work LOL.
@@RickMacDonnell this led me to a rabbit hole of bookish newsletters... subscribed to Michael Hingston's where he announced the show and a whole world of other ones. thanks for this
I am very much a mood reader. If I followed the rules strictly on things like this it would cause me to not enjoy the book as much as I might if I was actually in the mood for it, I've learned from experience, so I say go with your gut and choose the one that you most want to read! 😁
Ooh this one was tricky - I swapped out Utopia Avenue by David Mitchell for Little by Edward Carey which is a fictional account of the life of Madame Tussaud. I've been wanting to read that for ages so the wheel was in my favour this month 😂
I always look forward to the beginning of the month now!! Also, unrelated, I love that lipstick colour!!!
Try Not To Be Strange is my vote.
Elderly gentleman!!! He’s younger than me Gill.

Another win for the spin!!!
Little is one of my top five books of the year! Such a good choice.
Oi! Greg Davies is a year younger than me 👵🏻.
I think Ananias is close enough to the prompt to work. Go for it. It sounds interesting.
😂😂 he's *my* elder by some 20-ish years! But he's proof that your 50s are your hottest years!
I vote for Try To Not Be Strange! Fun project!
I am so torn! ....maybe I will try to read both?
