He is 100% correct on the time it takes to acquire kit to shoot F-class, Palma, sling, FTR. First of all, it's expensive. Then you finally do your research on what you want to spend your money on, find a web site or call them and the last part of the convo is, ok, you're on the waiting list, will call you back in 12 months, unless anything goes wrong, then it will be 24 months. Most guys are like, I'll do something else, I can buy a pistol and shoot IDPA or USPAA, I can buy a bolt or semi auto rifle and shoot PRS, I. can buy a shotgun and do Trap, I can get into any other shooting sport and be ready to go in a few weeks. F-class, NOPE, Seb rest, uh the Neo-x wait list is 18 months. 1.25" barrel, IDK where I can buy one in a remage .284... A nice receiver/action???? no one has them in stock, all made to order. This is fine if you already have kit and are just looking to upgrade or replace worn out gear. When was the last time you saw a new f-class shooter that wasn't the wife, son or daughter of an existing shooter. The sport will die and with ELR and PRS,. F-class won't last 5 more years in the USA if they don't make it more accessible to the average person. That's why my local club has a sport class. Than what? Wait 5 years to get all the kit together to shoot actual F-class? It is a huge problem for the sport. Especially at a time where the interest in long range shooting is SO popular.
Agree with you totally. Consider living in Australia and add an extra 12months to the build.
Don't forget to start looking for projectiles when you order an action. 200.20x projectiles have not been available over here for near 2years! And last time they were they were they all sold out in under 20 minutes! I was one of the lucky ones and all I got was 1 box of 100!

@@DavidWayne-ug1np I can only imagine, if it’s this hard to acquire kit in the US it has to be impossible in other countries.
Well, I just jumped in with a worn out bench rest 6BR and a borrowed front rest to start shooting F Open... First time I showed up they were shooting 1,000 yds and after about 8 rounds I finally had the elevation on my 100 meter sited in scope and put 20 rds in for a 174.5 which was good enough on the day to win against the club regulars...
I was hooked!!! That was a lot of $$$ ago {Who wants to be the richest person in the Bone Yard?} and lots better equipment but still knocking them over with a 6BR and now have a 7mm built by Blake to handle the 700 yds and beyond when the going gets tough... Hold a club record at 600yds with the 6BR of 200.14 {120.14 here in OZ} with second string of 100.9 {60.9} Just put down a 200.13 at 400 meters this past Saturday with the mighty 6BR in mixed wind and hope to get the 500yds tied up next week... {:~)
Just get out there if you are interested as clubs are always looking for new members and usually have club rifles for you to try out and see if you want to get involved...🤠
I agree with most of what you say but I'd like to say there will always be guys that are meticulous and strive for the ocd level of precision........the likes of which sports like prs won't satisfy......elr would be close in my mind.....but it's gotten crazy........

thats true but between custom fees and shipment expenses we have now in Europe it's really impossible to buy further tools from the states 😭
I heard you guys comment on the price. But everyone should agree that if this tool will interface together three tools. It is by far cheaper in the short run as well as the long run. The innovation and foresight these guys have for this project is beyond impressive. And for F class John to bring it to us to see the AMERICAN craftsman ship in operation is amazing. I come from a tool and die background. In one shop I work at, we built special machines. This was an amazing tour, wheels are spinning in my brain. I see some Blake barrel use in some future builds, hopefully I'll be able to afford an action to try. Very exciting to see the advances in the industry driving action, barrels and tool manufacturing in the discipline. Strive for 0's

Had Blake barrels/FCP do a build for me just this past year and got to meet Blake and is partner when I picked it up. Nice folks and keep you updated on progress of you order.
It was an interesting tour you got John, my visit was a bit more curtailed but at the time they had not started up making the actions but I did get to see the IDOD machines being assembled and noted that they were popular enough that there was a 3-5 month waiting list... They are Truly hand assembled and tested and the price reflects the effort and quality that goes into their product.
What did you think of the original machinery side? They also do the original heavy duty machine work {the bread & butter stuff for the company} as well and the site reflects that by it's location in South Phoenix...
Blake has really built the precision side of the business and I wonder if he will eventually move that side into a purpose built building, the main building was just screened off with a plastic flap door when I was there.
At least you don't have to drive all the way across the nightmare traffic of downtown Phoenix...!
Have family still in Arizona so it makes it handy for this expat and I will export my build back to OZstralia along with the extra barrel, cases & 184's
As has been commented on... UnObtainium here and if you want to shoot be prepared to spend $$$$ Any product you buy here is about 40-60% more expensive than in the USA... {:~(

Should make the same situation but a normal round receiver. That square inlet on a action is some serious milling on a stock.

So would you use the IDOD on every reload to set neck wall thickness and for neck trim length? I recently upgraded to the Giraud Power Trimmer. What a difference. If this would replace the Giraud, this would be a game changer. Thanks for sharing. Now I have something else to save up for.

@@user-yj4rh6wf8d I just talked to him. He said the action is fine for TR but is a little heavier so making weight may be a little tougher. He has a TR version coming out by the end of the year.

You should see the original machinery side of things where they do truck and road grader stuff... Massive machinery and lots of it OLD... BUT still producing good and accurate work! Case in point is the Pratt & Whitney rifler... Still turning out great products with a rebuild and having the ways scraped back to true. Not sure that modern equipment will go that sort of distance...😉
