I just think it's so amazing that Towa made a cover of Brilliant and Error, both of which are niki songs, whom she admires. Fun fact: This was her first cover in Hololive. And she killed it. I don't know how true this is, but I heard that this song was made to not be sung by actual humans. But here we are. You have heard Error and Brilliant now, originally composed as vocaloid song by niki, as well as Palette, which was also composed by niki, but directly for Towa. Now there's still her cover of Hearts by the same niki to check out.
Speaking of vocaloid songs that shouldn't work on humans, there's "non-breath oblige" covered by KAF (or Botan, but I personally prefer KAF's version). There are moments in that song that I honestly don't know how they do it so to not to run out of air
By the way, at around the same time Towa released her cover of Hearts, vsinger Hachi (not from HL, but has the same mama as Mio, coincidentally) released her cover of the same song and omfg, great voice too.

Can you believe Towa had never taken singing lessons before this cover? Brilliant, Kuroi Hitsuji (translated from Japanese as Black Sheep), ERROR and Hyakkisai (Festival of One Hundred Demons, is something from Japanese lore, don't worry), all those songs were at the point where Towa was finally coming into her own, since then she has put her whole effort into dancing and singing lessons, writing music, becoming a legit e-sports player, vocal couching and so much more. She has gained the confidence she needed to finally whatever she wants and it shows, I mean, she had the tools, she just needed to trust herself.

Brilliant is by far my favorite Towa Cover. There's just something about how it hits. But every song that Towa sings that has Niki involved is a banger Azki definitely needs to be on First Take, she has the skill and voice, and needs the spotlight, she's so underrated. And no we're never not surprised by these talents. They are always improving and trying out new things. Ever evolving and never gets stagnant.
No sunlight here, only the void. I still get songs that hit me in the feels and make me fall in love all over again, so no you don't really get used to it, but that is what makes them special, if you went back now and listened to Suisei's ghost, or Towa's Error, you may still get that even though you know what to expect, and speaking of Suisei, you still need to do Stellar Stellar.
after being in the rabbit hole for i believe 4,5 years it deffinetly wears off after some time but there is still for me this sense of wow they really did 1-up themself again since after every new song i mostly think "how can they ever do this one, one better" and then they do somehow. happened for suisei examples from stellar stellar to template to syakunetsu nite junjou to michizure and probably more to come. calli has also done this since day one to me just like iRys. i think it's time we end the niki saga of towa by reacting to hearts

Since you narrowed it down to just Hololive, I would have to agree with you that I would love to see any one of them in the next First Take. However, to narrow it down a bit, I really want either: Towa, Watame, Kanata, Risu, or Moona. I would love to hear Towa sing either Brilliant or Error, but would also be super happy with Palette. I would adore to hear Watame sing her song "My song" And I would really like to see Kanata try her 3d anniversary live version of Unravel. Risu's ALICE&u would be amazing too, it was fantastic in the 3rd Fes, but in the intimate setting of the First take, I think it would send chills down my spine. Moona, as much as I like High Tide, I think Chiisana Uta would fit the First take format better, and she definitely sings it very well live. Of the above, you couldn't force me to pick one over the other, they would all be amazing
No, in Japan they use the word "movie" to refer to "videos". Just one of those things you pick up early in life if you ever checked out official websites for Japanese video games, all the promotional videos (youtube embeds, etc) would be under the MOVIE section. They are motion pictures after all. So "Movie: REO" means that this REO person is credited for having put the video together, right under the person responsible for mixing the audio.
I'm very biased in that I'd want Watame to be the one to get that First Take spot singing My Song. That said, I think Towa would be the most likely. I imagine members with music labels would probably be more likely. Calli falls under that too. I would love Calli singing an acoustic version of Scuffed Up Age.
The only gripe i have is calling it "talent" because most of the Artist you react to have years of training/experience and then i would call it skill but besides that your reactions are always amazing. AZKi, IRyS, Risu, Moona. i think are the strongest contenders for the first take. For the next Holo members to appear on The First Take, I think AZki or IRYs could kill a one take song no problem. But Towa or Watame could very well be the next one.
Luke, one thing to bear in mind is that Hololive hires its talents primarily based on their ability as stage performers, while the other Vtuber agencies just hired them for their abilities as... well... vtubers. This explains why Hololive talents tend to be more skilled as singers.
I don't know how true that is. Hololive definitely has plenty of talents that had zero stage experience before joining Hololive, and had to go through extensive training and practice to be at a competent level for concerts. Some do have that experience though, and it often shows when they do get on stage. First and foremost I think they do hire for the ability as vtubers, with stage or singing experience being more valued than other companies.

On the subject of who should be the next Hololive member to sing on TFT, unfortunately at this moment I do not believe anyone else can do so. I am both a Hololive fan and TFT fan for the longest time, from what all the songs and covers from Hololivers so far IMO hasn't really reach the quality and ability of all the invited singers in TFT. Suisei at best is in the middle of the pack in TFT, and that's a stretch from me, a year 3 Suisei simp. Aside from Calli, which also not quite there yet as far as singing ability goes.
You do a great job of covering the bottomless pit of talent that is Hololive, but you still have more to do. Of the heavy hitters you've touched on most of them, however you missed one that needs your attention. Shion!

Since you narrowed it down to just Hololive, I would have to agree with you that I would love to see any one of them in the next First Take. However, to narrow it down a bit, I really want either: Towa, Watame, Kanata, Risu, or Moona.
I would love to hear Towa sing either Brilliant or Error, but would also be super happy with Palette.

And I would really like to see Kanata try her 3d anniversary live version of Unravel.

No, in Japan they use the word "movie" to refer to "videos". Just one of those things you pick up early in life if you ever checked out official websites for Japanese video games, all the promotional videos (youtube embeds, etc) would be under the MOVIE section. They are motion pictures after all. So "Movie: REO" means that this REO person is credited for having put the video together, right under the person responsible for mixing the audio.
I'm very biased in that I'd want Watame to be the one to get that First Take spot singing My Song. That said, I think Towa would be the most likely. I imagine members with music labels would probably be more likely. Calli falls under that too. I would love Calli singing an acoustic version of Scuffed Up Age.

For the next Holo members to appear on The First Take, I think AZki or IRYs could kill a one take song no problem. But Towa or Watame could very well be the next one.
Luke, one thing to bear in mind is that Hololive hires its talents primarily based on their ability as stage performers, while the other Vtuber agencies just hired them for their abilities as... well... vtubers. This explains why Hololive talents tend to be more skilled as singers.
I don't know how true that is. Hololive definitely has plenty of talents that had zero stage experience before joining Hololive, and had to go through extensive training and practice to be at a competent level for concerts.
Some do have that experience though, and it often shows when they do get on stage.
First and foremost I think they do hire for the ability as vtubers, with stage or singing experience being more valued than other companies.

On the subject of who should be the next Hololive member to sing on TFT, unfortunately at this moment I do not believe anyone else can do so. I am both a Hololive fan and TFT fan for the longest time, from what all the songs and covers from Hololivers so far IMO hasn't really reach the quality and ability of all the invited singers in TFT. Suisei at best is in the middle of the pack in TFT, and that's a stretch from me, a year 3 Suisei simp. Aside from Calli, which also not quite there yet as far as singing ability goes.
