My wife used to play netball, I am a basketball player and coach. I always mocked my wife for some of the netball rules, like scoring restricted to a designated player, etc. But looking at the game I would love to have my teams playing according to netball rules occassionally. There is a lot to learn from it for basketball players. I love how the players protect a ball possession, very few turnovers. Advancing the ball through passing. Not being allowed to dribble forces a player to immediately scan the field for the next open player. Scoring only from a good scoring possession. When I look at the turnovers, ill-advised scoring attempts, dribble heavy plays.... I would love to send my team to a netball camp.

@@lakerboy16 Each player in a netball team has diferent role: Goal Shooter, Goal Attack, Wing Attack, Center, Wing Defence, etc. Depending on their positions, they are allowed in certain zones or areas. Also the Goal Shooter and Goal Attack are the only ones allowed to shoot. You can't run with the ball, and when you get the ball you have 3 seconds to release possession of it - so when you get the ball you want to make quick and good decisions of who to pass it to.
Netball is a lot harder than people think

yes and defense is subjective. When someone catches the ball. The defender has to back up a few feet. Seems like basketball for the unathletic.
Yea I’m basketball no matter what your position is you can go everywhere and it’s not basketball for the unathletic😂 it just involves less running because you can’t dribble, there are completely different rules ( I play netball and played basketball for 2years)

Actually people move in this a lot. They should just add 3 point shooter option so you have shooting inside circle and also out of it but opposing player can block you when you are out of circle.

Question if there’s anyone who can answer: at 9:09 England teà requests hold time for player change, is there a certain rule for this (how many times, when they can change players per quarter)??? There isn’t any explanation in the official rule book.

I remember in primary school for PE there was netball but the boys weren’t allowed to play. Usually PE was integrated boys and girls in primary, but when it was netball only the girls were allowed to play and the boys had to do athletics instead lol

Watching this match makes you think how far behind the ferns are. The ferms attack is just unbearable to watch these days and I have supported nz netball throughout the years.
Just remember that Noeline Tauruas idea was to build and test combinations for the upcoming commonwealth games, not necessarily to win this quad series
@@jacobwhitley8712 you dont build combinations 5 mnths out from the comm games including waiting for senior players to come back into the team amd thinkimg they will be match fitness for the comm games. . Even worse she selected pretty much the same team from last year. They shouldnt be losing to Eng, Oz amd nearly beaten by SA.
