OTT's interpretation of 4 dharma seals: 1) All composite phenomena are impermanent 2) All contaminated things and events are unsatisfactory 3) All phenomena are empty and selfless 4) Nirvana is true peace
This album changed my life. Under Ott’s influence, I began to take composition more seriously, and all of his works have been inspiring ever since. Blumenkraft is an entry into an immersive world, as is Skylon, Mir, Fairchildren, Heads, or the next album. He is one of the best producers who is still active today.
One thing I really like about Ott is - the minute you hear his music , you know it's him . He is 100 % his own sounds and I think that is the greatest compliment you can give to any artist.
Can't agree less. This is good music and Ott handles it well! However it's psydub at his best! Soulacybin is making totally unique set with hands and calls it hyper chill.
I remember the first time I broke time barriers. It was a bit hot, and our neighborhood gang were smoking in a friend's room. The curtains were down and a small fracture of light came to the curtain's edge, and in the time, an easy wind started blowing the curtain. The fracture of light started making patterns and shades through the curtain in a perfect combo with the wind. It was a symbiotic relationship with nature and OTT, a true blumenkraft
This is literally one of the best albums ever produced... It defies time itself, it is purely sonic matter, ever expanding, ever contracting, along this electric universe. Thank you Universe, for allowing us to experience such vibrations. Namaste, shanti baba boom 🕉️
The beauty of being here, the beauty of life and the fact that because there is so much matter in the universe that we through pure probability can exist. To think this all started because of many distant stars exploding. Because of a star long gone, from light years away, because of static electricity in the earths atmosphere all those years ago, we are here collectively to listen to these sounds that tickle our ear drums in such a way.
Man, I remember within my first couple of acid trips finding this album after jamming to Fluke - Risotto one night. And ho-lee-shit, that opening track transcended me into absolute euphoria. It's now my acid tradition to jam to it every time I trip. It evokes such a deep bliss, like just for a few minutes the world comes to a complete stop and I can just disconnect, to sink into the intensity of the beat. Just losing myself in the music and seeing how far it goes.
1st heard at Glasto some years ago now - tracked down the seller who had a copy which I bought and snook away into my bag. Later that week when I got back home slipped in the disc - Feck, was I blown sideways, forwards, backwards and into next frickin week! And, am still listening years later never get tired of this one.
Yeah man, I've had that experience too. I also love cannabis in nature, with the trees and the birds speaking to me. And the Sun! Oh booy the Sun!! ahahhah : )
Same, and I got the CD. My guess is you need to rewind to before the start of the first track (I'm sure due to some weird quirk of the Redbook format allowing for this). Will check tonight when I get home, 'coz I'm curious as hell now.
@@verloreneseele8898 Oh, hey, thanks for reminding me. Yes, I did, just now. You can rewind to before the start of the first track on this album. It's pretty hard to rewind to the very start of the "bonus intro" though, at least on my CD player, since it resets to the regular start position of the first track once you hit the beginning. Tested on a Kenwood DP-5050, in case it should matter to anyone. But I'm sure it works on most, if not all CD players.
I mentioned that bassline on Otts AMA years ago and he said he had remembered it from an old dub track. I wonder where it originates? If his memory of it was even accurate?
Well, for what it's worth, you can rewind past the start of the first track into this bonus intro. Just tested it on my CD player. Pretty hard to hit the exact start of this hidden intro though, at least on my CD player, as it resets to the "normal" album start once you rewind past the start of the hidden intro.
First one is Aileinn Duinn, it's a gaelic folk song, the second one I don't know. But if you listen to enough of Putumayo's World Music CDs you might actually find it.

@@thaDjMauz :D Yes it was me. I will never forget that concert. Nice to meet you. :)

Yeah, his newest one "Heads" is also amazing. The dude is close to 60, these days! I honestly hope he keeps on going. I can never tired of his sound.
smoked glass and chrome is a masterpiece, one of my favorite tracks.

Flower power sucks.

yes! Jack's Cheese And Bread Snack is such an AMAZING intro to an album, like wow so next level and out of this world!

Heard that first years ago on RadioIO Ambient - excellent
Opening track is literally a cure for depression.

Since "we are in Germany"...The car engine starting in the begining makes me think about Autobahn from Kraftwerk.
Me too. That's why it is there. :)
In one interview Ott told He like Kraftwerk :)

Frigging beautiful, OTT is dope and I'm older than him ;)
I knew skylon and mir were great, loved hallucinogen in dub, but missed this. All these years later and I finally listen... and WOW !
It is his best album IMHO. I mean I may be biased because its the first of his I heard but its certainly still my favourite.
And why not listen to this great album again!!! Classic!!! I love the atmosphere and funkyness, thanks for the upload!!!!!!!!
I'm so glad I got to see Ott live this weekend!
Eternal Flower Power fnord Trumpland!! Can't wait for the Eye in boulder, OM!!
Sheer brilliance.
What an assembly of tracks! This album is one of my all time favorites!
first acid experience in the nature with this on while playing the drum.. Amaaazing trip
How did you have a trip in "the nature" while something electronic was playing, exactly?
What you mean? I was in nature and I had phone and headphones, not a pc of course :D
I'm sure it was amazing but you should try nature without music as well.

Take away the reggae rhythm and effects, and Ott's track "Somersettler" bears a strong resemblance to the melody in Goldfrapp's "Lovely Head"(2000)
