Hi there great job I use to use a lot of the oil base paints for trim old school but now all I use is water base enamels they have got better over the years using them long time in Nz only problem is during the hot summers don’t have much working time so you must add in additive to give more working time .I find them great to use .
Good job gerard .im 40 yrars at the game still geting used to the water based finish psint . Keep it coming mate love watching your stuff . Thank you kind .
Hello 👋Could you suggest a Top quality, durable & scrubbable, water-based paint, I can use for my bathroom, which can withstand moisture exposure 💦 ? it's to paint over old yellowed gloss on wood surfaces which I have already sanded ? Thanks 👍
Hi Gérard, I've just found your channel today and subbed, great content, love your relaxed nature and the way you explain what your doing, could I ask you what would be your preferred paint to paint a hardwood floor with water based, I would need to get a colour tinted, I'm in carrickfergus and have a johnstones and crown near me, bandq and dulux close by also, any feedback would be much appreciated 👍
Hi Russ I would go for ronseal diamond coat they have a waterbased one which also has colours in it you would have to order it on line are as far as I no b&q would do it.
@@gerardoneillhandpaintedkit9714 cheers Gerard for the prompt reply, I looked at the ronseal but they didn't have the correct grey (wife) gonna need to colour match , thanks again 👍, keep the videos coming
No problem Russ I’m just noticing you are looking to paint a hard wood floor not varnish it google bespoke decor in Ballymena they supply Benjamin Moore paint ask for Don explain what your doing he ll get you sorted get you correct primer & finish paint.
hopefully they will bring out a aqua guard gloss that can be used externally for a more convenient option to the hybrids but still wouldn't rate them as good as oil especially johnstones oil paints they have got better flow than crown and better coverage than dulux
The camera is too far away. We need to see the product going on and how it levels out. All i see is a pinter brushing up and down:) Please get the cam in close.
@@gerardoneillhandpaintedkit9714 Hi i am yes. Not easy now though as lockdown is here . Its perfect how you reflect upon different products but it would also be great if you can get that camera closer so we can see how the product is laying off:) Thanks for replying.
Been having trouble sleeping lately and this has been perfect for me. Thank You

Hiya, the way you paint this door. Is that the way you would paint it if it was a Oak door being painted with water based clear satin?
Hi yes same procedure
I love the finish of this paint but somehow I always get drip marks! Any tips on how to avoid this?
Roll it on with a 4" short pile as much as possible.
Dont you take the handles off.
