I haven't cried this hard in a long time. Watching Hasan talk to his mother, and listening as she expressed her genuine emotion about her son hit closer to home than I expected. I lost my mother 22 years ago when I was 19 years old. She was the person I strove the hardest to be like. She was always 100% open and honest with me. She died suddenly 2 weeks before my first child was born, and losing her so soon and at a life changing moment left me broken for years. Hello Something I have been in search for quite sometime is a connection with somebody that goes beyond vanity. It's very hard to do in this day and age. People can be, somewhat very superficial. On my quest to achieve this I have learnt a lot about human nature. It seems to me that those who are not given traits such as beauty or being wealthy are some of the nicest, kindest and generous people. While the "gorgeous" and well off seem to be the most arrogant and greedy people out there. Of course that's not to say there aren't beautiful kind people out there. I've been in the process of change for a while now and I have made some decent changes but don't you just hate it when people can't let go of your past mistakes. I saw your profile and it intrigued me. I wanted to learn more about who you are and what type of path you would like on in life. Can we talk?
This was the most wholesome thing I've seen in a while...you can talk about Indian / Asian family stereotypes (I'm an east European guy, and many similar stereotypes exist here as well) - and this family is one that definitely falls into many of them :) - but this thing here that we saw is also the purest example of what a family should be, and is more and more rare in today's world - dedicated, loving, and always worrying parents, true to the role they chose, sacrificing and putting in the effort to raise children who are good people, and honest, hard-working children who pursue their dreams, and recognize and have love for how their parents enabled them to do so...I have huge respect for Hasan after this - he might be a bad-ass and successful comedian, a sharp and unapologetic critic, but even more because he is, together with all that, still simply a good child to his parents. Much love for the Minhaj family, very happy for the deserved success, you guys are awesome! Everyone else - be good people and make your parents proud in your own way!
Hassan's Dad is the Typical Indian Dad with loads a cuteness nd honestly ...He is the Typical Brown Dad u would ever see...strict yet soft, kind yet low key dissapointed..

They're more rough and tough and adept at handling the mean world cz they've been through so much. But Asian parents, that's how they are. It's the fabric out of which Asian families are made. They never push the kids out of the nest and complain when kids rely too much on them. Too many Conflicting emotions in the Asian community. I think they're basically indecisive by nature.

Thank you for an insightful comment, I agree. This was so wholesome to watch.
Great insight, it took me by surprise hearing his dad's dreams
This is so true; also when my parents passed I discovered a renewed interest in old Bollywood music and cinema, parties and charity work. All their great loves.

- Najme Minhaj, 2019
remember when someone said he should be President of the United States. That is the honesty we wish our politicians had. lol

Hasan is a mumma's boy who is forever trying to impress his dad..!
Like a typical Indian guy. Not afraid to say I'm one too
manasa ukku true... I felt the same
I also thought so too. haha
haha..yeah! My brother is very much like that.
I think it's same with African parents too
So cute how Hasan lean on his father in the end... Love
That was my favorite part.
“What’s your secret to raising a successful child?....She’s talking about Aisha.” 😂😂😂
i have seen this a lot in families, son is mama's favorite and daugthers are dad's fav. most of the time
Abhik Mondal most of the times it’s like that but in my family it’s the girls are mom’s favorite and the boys are dad’s favorite, maybe because he’s lowkey sexist
😂😂😂
Its actually ayesha
hadiatou 😂
saying hi-fi in 2019 is a subtle Asian trait.
Exactly what I was thinking 😂
Yas
such a brown thing lmaoo

He's a sweet momma's boy. She loves her baby boy. That much is obvious.
Hello
Something I have been in search for quite sometime is a connection with somebody that goes beyond vanity.
WHEN HE LEANED OVER TO HIS DAD AT THE END HOW CUTE😭😭😭
pineapple piizzzaaa 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
🥰🥰🥰
hasan speaks so softly to his parents. he tones down his hyperactivity lol
Thats the desi American way lol hahaha
This comment should have kk likes
All my thoughts and feelings put perfectly in words. Thanks
I'll never be brave enough to let my parents answer random personal questions about me. Brave, brave lad.

"Not too much but more than you should" - Najme Minhaj, 2019
Hasan's mother has such a nice voice. It made so much sense that she wanted to sing growing up.
"You do it not too much but more than you should." Your father is a born politician.
Yes
I lost it when Kaho na pyaar hai started playing and Hritik wasn't even in Najme's top 5 😂
This was really fun to watch, I wish Ayesha was there too.
Ikr, I remember back when I was young I absolutely loved that songs
Hassan's Dad is the Typical Indian Dad with loads a cuteness nd honestly ...He is the Typical Brown Dad u would ever see...strict yet soft, kind yet low key dissapointed..
I can relate to all of them no joke.
When your parents see you are stable and out there in world succeeding they finally get to relax. I saw it in my parents.
TruthFLA I saw that too 😭😭😭😭
Wow I can’t wait to get a job so that my parents can relax.
What a sweet Desi family. You’ll be alright Hasan, you have such good parents, MashAllah!

@@nehasingh7599 most typical Indian Dad moment was when najmi said he was disappointed because hasan couldn't score a goal.. I felt that 😂
oh yes😂 just noticed😂
@@nehasingh7599 every Indian kid can relate to that 😂😂
"Free samples" honest indian heart. bless him.
The fact that his dad doesn’t have any idea about Marvel but still said good Luck! 😂😂
Hasan's mom ,"I was scared how he'll get over the depression and sadness"...every Indian mom.
Yeah! And in the movie 'Hindi medium', the little girl's mom also says the exact same thing, she is always worried if they don't send their daughter to a reputed school, she would eventually fall into depression and do drugs😂😂😂
Every good mom.
@@DocSkincare kids turn out fine, inspite of everything. Infact the ones which are less shielded and go through negligence from parents turn out to be far better than ones who are protected.
“I like aaaa free samples”
“Haha”
“I like the different types of cheese there. Cheese samples”
😂😂😂
Hasan: Dad, Which episode did i talk about cruise ships??
Najme: yes.
LMAO
Hasan’s parents are great! When Hasan leaned into his father at the end and his dad hugged him, it was a beautiful moment.
I lost my Dad 3 months ago. Tears streaming as I watch this. Oh how I long to sit on a sofa with BOTH my parents and talk to them.
Be strong, sister.
Hasan got the hand gestures from Seema, he got the camera stare from Najme 😂😂
"I like free samples"
That's the typical middle class Indian father everyone. India is unified in terms of these common quirks must say.
"Not too much, but more than you should."
That's literally the definition of "too much."
Your parents are so adorable , especially your mom she’s so warmhearted. Listening to her is so calming . Love them
Man I am a desi in Sweden and listening to your cute mom reminded me of mine and now I am crying. Inshallah you will all have a great family life.
I'm here for you @CrabJuice
Lovely to see the parents that made this possible. You both are truly blessed to have nurtured this talented human. God Bless
Hasan falling into his dad while laughing and Najme hugging him was everything...just saying. Strong family vibes.
He's so calm around his parents
I feel that's why he barely moved his hands on this one...
Really down to earth....humble folks....salaams from South Africa
Brilliant. His mum is soooooo cute I love her so much. She has the most homely loving vibe. 🥰
You knew he got in trouble at the end lol when his dad was like “Hassan..”
You should see Hassan's dad reaction to "who is your biggest supporter?" and Hassan said 'my mom'.🤣🤣😂😂Dads are legends. 6:36
Love it when Seema says about the White House Correspondents Dinner - "I was scared.. All Hi-Fi people siting there.."
Hi fi is a typical Indian expression for people who are movers and shakers 😁
From coffee-hyped Hasan to I'm-shy-around-my-parents Hasan, oof transition!
Haha perfectly noted...true for all of us..
That's something 'Every indian has this in their genes' kinda thing.. we respect a lot man
@@Shaaan I know, I know. I'm an Indian too :P
Honestly Hassan, I wish my mother supported me the way your mom supported you! She is so intelligent and the way she's sorted raising kids and life is so inspirational! She's so calm , Zen and Happy!

We want a T-Shirt that reads “This is real , You have to believe!” - Najme Minhaj
You can totally tell he gets his humor from his dad.
I got a little sad when she was talking about the LA apartment. Aaawww
Your parents are so sweet. ❤❤❤❤
I want to see Hasan's sister Ayesha on the show!!
Yeah, I wonder how life with a celebrity brother is like??
That would be cool if we saw Hasan Minhaj sister. Hasan speaks about her so much she seems like a celebrity already. Can we SEE YOUR SISTER ON AN EPISODE OF ANYTHING?
Husan, that was the most real thing I’ve ever seen from a celebrity. You break the mold and your family is gold.
I love how he used "Kaho na Pyaar hai" music in the end-card... LOL
Thanks! I was wondering why they had changed it.
Thanks i wanted to know what music they played at the end
Seema on her singing and sacrifices of immigrant parents had me crying 😢
Same!!
'' Kids will always be your kids '' That's like the beautiful thing I have heard. Lots of love.
He has his father's face, & his mother's smile. Hasan, the man.
These guys are so Indians, even when their son is successful, they want others to pursue dreams with caution. lol
Haha
That’s any parent I think not just Indian 😊
Lovely, simple and desi parents they are just love, alot of love and affections
This is one of the most adorable interactions I have ever seen with a constant smile on my face. You guys are so cute :)
Is is just me or who else think that would Seema be a great narrator.. (she has a narrator's voice)
when Seema says she wanted to sing .. so not surprised!! Her speaking voice itself is so soothing!! Would love to hear her sing ♥️♥️
We need more episodes with Hasan’s parents
