Miller steals it in the final seconds. This made headlines all week that year and would become one of NBA's legendary moments for years to come, forever remembered. Reggie always found ways to stick it to the Knicks, but this part here really bumps it up and watching him scream "Yea, fuck all of you," to the Garden crowd cemented him as the Knicks nemesis.
Reggie was a killer. Shame he never got a ring because he was definitely good enough and for sure clutch enough. 1 of the greats that was wrong place wrong time because of jordan.
Ewing should have banked it. Better yet, Starks should have made at least one free throw. Actually, Mason should not have tried to pass the ball to a teammate who was on the floor. Only the Knicks bro. I swear.
This was the first of three seasons the NBA used a shortened three-point arc. You can see the faded sketch of the current (and former) arc behind the one used for this game.
It's because rule changes are made very late in the off-season. Teams didn't have time to design new courts before the season, which forced them to hastily scrub out the original line. Only Chicago and Cleveland were able to make the transition seamlessly since they had new arenas and new courts to go along with them. Whoever built those courts held back from painting their three-point line until the rule change was announced.
Well, we knew we had to get a three. We were down by six, and we got a quick three on that. We knew they had no timeouts, and we needed to pressure the ball. We overplayed Anthony, Mason choked and threw it to me, and I hit a three. We almost lost this game when Sam made that foul, but John Starks choked. We came up big.
Greatest ever comeback with the time left in NBA history; it was great the points he scored and how he did it; but more importantly he did in Madison Square Garden in front of Spike Lee; who Reggie called at the end of the game quote and quote "" LOL HIS BITCH"; BUT DEFINITELY ONE OF REGGIE MILLER LITARELY GREATEST GENUINE DRAFT MOMENTS; IT WAS MILLER TIME INDEED.
Loved Indiana and new York Miller bugged out when he said he felt they could sweep the Knicks that so wasn't the case but hard battle and wonderful rivalry the 90's era Of basketball was way better than basketball of any decades after
Nah, it's a tie game, Ewing has a point blank look on a putback. He is their guy. He has to come after the rebound with that killer instinct like I'm going to get it and score it and give us the lead back. Just didn't work out that way. Ewing was not going to defer a chance to take the big shot unless he was double teamed and saw somebody open. For better or (sadly all too often) for worse.
Go over Reggies career Mj obviously above him Perhaps if pacers bulls with Jordan happened as much as Knicks pacers Reggie coulda got right up on his heels rather than a step or two lower. I'll put reg on kobes level Reg type cast as the king of the 3 He had game all around He wasn't shit in any skill His weakest is his D Which is underrated And you can make the argument based only on post season The things he did man Most just don't know Top 50 ez Maaaybe top 25 If I had time I'd put it all together
Ewing came through lots of times in the playoffs to win crucial games, yet without getting to win a championship, it's easy to recall the games he lost for a Knick Choke.
Series wouldn't have gone to 7 without his game winner in game 5. Knicks had no "supporting cast" so it all fell on Ewing's shoulders for better or worse, against teams that usually had a second star or a better star or both. That they were even competing against better teams with better rosters actually says a lot about Ewing and the team's toughness, even with their mental breakdowns at inopportune times.
Miller clearly pushed off when he stole the ball. I don't think the Knicks choked. In any game situation when you're down 6, if you hit a 3, and push off (and the refs don't call it) then you have a chance to tie it.
Miller had hands on Anthony, but Anthony clearly tripped on his own. Mason missed key free throws and made a terrible inbounds pass. Starks missed two free throws and they only needed one to win. Ewing missed a five-footer in the lane. Sorry, but they choked.
Anthony was already falling when Miller touched him. Good no-call. And WTF? Mason was blind and threw it right to Miller. Choke. Starks misses two FTs. Choke. Ewing shoots too quickly, missing a gimme shot. Choke. Mason fouls Miller with the game tied. CHOKE. Anthony trips again, no chance to tie. Choke. This is the mother of all chokejobs.
The Knicks didn’t choke ? What do ya call Starks bricking 2 FTs , then inexplicably fouling Miller after the Starks’s misses , then Greg Anthony trips over his own feet , & finally Ewing bricks a bunny @ the buzzer ... all that After allowing Miller the only guy on the Pacers who could shoot / the only guy ya need to D up , to get a great 👀 at a 3 , after Miller hits the 1st 3 the Knicks panic on the inbound pass / throw the ball right to Reggie & allow him to run behind the 3PT line & drill another wide open 3 !!! All of this in under 9 seconds !!! Biggest choke job I’ve ever seen !!
Riley lost this fkn gm w/ NO T.O.'s left while leading entire 4th Q.!! Worst loss in franchise history imo! Knicks/Hou. rematch was the inevitable outcome w/ us havin home court this time
True definition of "Miller Time"!
I remember this game well. Always enjoyed the Indiana- NY series throughout the 1990s.
Unbelievable moment in one of the Knicks many playoff failures.
I love the Knicks bench reaction when Reggie tied the game lol
Reggie post game interview was savage.
I watched this live
Darius i attended the game
So did I
That was some of the most exciting basketball ever witnessed
Bill Walton at 2:05 “They’re gonna have to play a lot better than they did today”
Little did we all know what was about to happen 🤣
I still have yet to see anything this amazingly impossible happen in the 25 years since! This is once in a lifetime magic .
Not even Kawhi's 4 bounce series winning shot?
Until last nights Mavs game

I can't believe this was 25 years ago.
Announcer, can the pacers beat the nicks
Walton they will have to play better than today
Reggie, watch this
Reggie was a killer. Shame he never got a ring because he was definitely good enough and for sure clutch enough. 1 of the greats that was wrong place wrong time because of jordan.
reggie miller the beast he is the man without fear
Ewing should have banked it. Better yet, Starks should have made at least one free throw. Actually, Mason should not have tried to pass the ball to a teammate who was on the floor. Only the Knicks bro. I swear.
They have a tendency, even today, to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
I remember that day in May 1995 when I was in 7th grade middle school and then Reggie Miller scores 3 pointers vs New York Knicks
"Did this dude just did this"
lmao
Starks
I was so pissed, then I couldn't believe what happen GO PACERS
When a team's stupidity is 10 times its arrogance. Thats what this Knick team is all about. Loving every second of this game from the openning tip 👍
Very arrogant from the Knicks
Easy cowgirl....we got New Yorkers here.

I seriously wanted to choke John Starks for missing those free throws
Everyone talks about starks choking but its mason who choked. Terrible pass and terrible foul
Greg Anthony too with about a million screwups in the final moments.
Well, we knew we had to get a three. We were down by six, and we got a quick three on that. We knew they had no timeouts, and we needed to pressure the ball. Greg Anthony forgot how to run!
The pressure got to him
i would have went more crazy as an announcer than they did for Miller’s 2 threes….
8 points in 8.9 seconds.... Reggie tied the game; CLUTCH!!
Spike Lee loves the memory of this. 😂
I love Bill Walton’s hard nosed commentary.
I think Bill Walton is better not talking about the game than he is here. But I love Tom Hammond's call. Simple, but effective.
Loved Indiana and new York Miller bugged out when he said he felt they could sweep the Knicks that so wasn't the case but hard battle and wonderful rivalry the 90's era Of basketball was way better than basketball of any decades after
To this day I don't understand why Ewing took that shot instead of either waiting to get fouled or kicking it out
demoncleaner45 the game was tied, they didn’t have the lead so the pacers wasn’t going to foul
@@jaleelmuhammad9659 I think he should have tried to kick it out and reset the play.
Starks man... no Olajuwon this time. Still missed.
IDK guys, what do u think? I thought after the rebound off the 2nd FT, Ewing should have reset and gave the ball to one of the guards maybe?
Nah, it's a tie game, Ewing has a point blank look on a putback. He is their guy. Go over Reggies career
Mj obviously above him

I'll put reg on kobes level
Reg type cast as the king of the 3
He had game all around
He wasn't shit in any skill
His weakest is his D
Which is underrated
And you can make the argument based only on post season
The things he did man
Most just don't know
Top 50 ez
Maaaybe top 25
If I had time I'd put it all together
Lol...reggies not even on steve francis' level! R u serious? Coming from a guy who avged 18.2 for a career!😂
The Knicks Killer
Miller: John Starks choke
When you lose your bball iq on both sides, and one man takes advantage.
4:50
🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
love Ewing but never was a Clutch Player
Ewing came through lots of times in the playoffs to win crucial games, yet without getting to win a championship, it's easy to recall the games he lost for a Knick Choke.
Agreed. He also botched the potential series winning lay up in the final seconds of game 7. Guy was wide open and still clanked it.
@@zap_sigma1 yes indeed i believe it was the infamous finger roll... a Dunstable situation.. turn to a missed finger roll

Muy descarado el foul de reggie Miller
Trash announcers no excitement at all smh
