I believe the real God above who sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins had the final say & by his loving grace he brought justice to all these beautiful souls and innocent people by his plan. As a Rexburg resident most of my life, and very familiar with LDS theology, it's pretty obvious that Chad Daybell wove his own bullshit into LDS theology to create something different than what LDS teaches. Chad was essentially building his own personal cult within the mostly oblivious LDS organization. I would suggest that the LDS organization tries to be more vigilant in spotting members with rogue belief structures that are not in line with official LDS doctrine, and work to correct them in the nicest way possible, if possible. Chad Daybell types are the primary risk that could bring it all crashing down. You can't afford to forget Joseph Smith Jr. was himself a literal cult of personality. The entire structure stands on precarious foundations. It doesn't take all that much to create Chad, over and over again.

No, it is a cover to get others to help them. It really brings up trust issues. Both those kids believed they could trust their mother and their uncle.
