    As a kid I remember being so upset that it was so hard to find just a simple quality T-Rex toy like the red one, it looked so good. My cousin had it so my only option was to borrow it from him.

    This is such a great upload. Thank you for posting this. Your Rex is beautiful, and worth every penny of whatever you paid. I was at the Jurassic Party webcast Stan Winston school recorded a few years ago. I got to meet almost everyone that worked on dinosaurs for all four films (at that time). It was a dream come true. They helped create our childhood and this Rex is a major part of that.

    Beautiful model. I used to make display models for museums and theme parks including some full size and animatronic dinosaurs. I really miss it. The artists did an amazing job on Jurassic park. It really made dinosaurs popular again. A great video by the way. You have another subscriber. Good look with your channel.

    Fantastic piece Trevor! Thank you for sharing. So are you saying that the Horizon JP T-Rex models from the same master Maquette as your casting? I’ve always been a bit confused as to which Jurassic Park castings would be the best/most accurate ones that match the original Stan Winston models!

    • @trevorc4380
      @trevorc4380  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for your feedback! Always good to get positive critiques.
      Yep! The horizon model came from the same molds as the 1/16 maquette. One thing I noticed about the horizon model is that it’s slightly repositioned, the neck slightly bends to one side and the tail slightly curves to the other side. The lower legs also seem a tad bit different, almost like they’ve been stretched a tiny bit, but other than that, pretty much the same !

    • @trevorc4380
      @trevorc4380  6 років тому

      Hey Emanuele, it was Shane Foulkes (www.cretaceouscreationsofamerica.com) that did the leg re-positioning. I don't believe he warmed it up, but rather just cut it, glued it back together and filled it in with epoxy. I hope that helps and good luck on your Horizon kit!

  • @DownThePlotHole
    @DownThePlotHole 6 років тому

    Wait, so you had an item from the film and you built and painted it? Didn't you make a mould and cast a copy of it so you didn't have to assemble and paint the original? Maybe I missed something. :p

    • @trevorc4380
      @trevorc4380  6 років тому

      Great question! Originally I wanted to cast a copy so one casting could be left as is and one could be assembled, but the original artist/owner gave me specific instructions to not recast this item. He’s had to deal with forged items and recasts of his work for a few years and wanted to stay away from that, which I can totally understand and honoured that agreement with him. I hope that answers your question!

    • @diplo9027
      @diplo9027 6 років тому +1

      Recasting is a problem, I can see why Mike wanted it to stay a one off. You are incredibly lucky to own this. Steve did a fantastic job of painting it.

    • @trevorc4380

      Hi Chico D.
      Nope! This one is a solid resin model, so there's no articulation on this one. I always thought it would be cool to have a stop motion maquette, but they sadly start deteriorating after a few years.

    I always wanted that model
    To play with as a kid.
    there was another I thought that
    Could move like a stop motion puppet.
    Damn I prolly had every toy
    From the first 2 films .
    Jurassic was a dream come true
    As a kid.
    The 3rd movies toys were crap
    And I honestly expected far mor
    From hasbro when Jurassic world
    Was released.
    Guess they didn't expect any kind
    Of profit. Surly they will make
    More for fallen kingdom now they
    Are aware it may have serious profit.
    Lol but really tho video games
    Are like the toys of today
    Considering how real and involved
    They are now a days.
    Fuggin don't even need an imagination.
