  • Here we have an Eastbound(Compass North) at the base of the steep climb up the Sacramento River canyon. The railroad has followed this canyon to this point and this is where the grade nearly doubles and gets a lot twistier.
    There is some sort of communication between a helper set for another train and this trains head end. The second shot is on the train from the trail for Dunsmuir Falls. The third shot is the best for the light at MOTT as the train comes out of Sawmill Curve the second of two 180 degree curves the railroad builders had to employ to lift the grade up and out of the Sacramento River Canyon.
    I had a couple of these clips already uploaded but they don t make sense all broken up so I rerecorded them to make sense to the viewer.
