I was wondering about that seeing white gears in some boxes. I emailed Brose about any old part inventory or the injection mold. No response. Will call next week. I think the breaks are a combination of that thrust bearing on the worm shaft and the spider gear brace causing misalignments.
@@Ryengoth I remember hearing that the failures were mostly in the southern US. Here in the EU not so much. So possibly temp related with hot US summers to contend with. Generally enough to kill most plastics.
@@dj_paultuk7052 yeah, the nylon (6 or 66?) from the 90s was not happy with lots of extended heat exposure. I wish I could cast these because everything else would last another 30 years easily.
Im sure the 97 & 98 motors were revised due to the broken gear issue. There was a Saab tech note on this.
