  • French soldiers built a large stone fort called Fort Saint-Frederic, now in Crown Point, NY. As the British Army approached from the south in 1759, the French blew up their own fort before retreating to Canada.

    A stone castle in the American wilderness in the eighteenth century. Pretty amazing.
