  • Yesterday I made a video on the Weihrauch HW 100 KT Laminate - and some comments were made regarding the group size. Being the lad I am I wanted to explore this a little further. So, you are about to see me run six different pellets through the gun at 40 meters.
    Have fun!

    Thanks for the vid 👍
My two favourite .22 pellets are 14.2gr Bisley LRG and JSB Exact Jumbo 15.89gr 👍
One or other works well in pretty much everything.
The LRG have a longer skirt than a lot of similar weight pellets such as FTT and from my guns at 600fps show great stability over distance.
Worth noting, Bisley pellets are made by H&N who make Weihrauch pellets too so H&N do an cart ton of testing with HW100 barrels.
JSB pellets are quite a soft alloy so they lightly lube the pellets in the machining process to help prevent galling.
H&N use a higher antimony content so the pellets are harder and deform less. They can be fast in the barrel without lube, but correct head size selection is more critical and they take longer to settle down (in my guns) than JSB, especially when switching between the two brands.
When pellet testing I will shoot 20 of that type before shooting my group on paper as I find the first several shots tend to impact low before gradually settling up.
My .177 HW100KT is solid with 10.34gr JSB Exact Heavy but excellent with 10.65gr Bisley Magnum / H&N Baracuda Match.
It shotguns with Hades but is very good with Baracuda Hunter Extreme.
If you haven't seen it already, worth a look: H&N Sport Pellet Factory Tour by Airgun Exploration.
He has a JSB Factory Tour video too.
    Cheers 👍

Hw95k vs your redwolf would be interesting see how a good springer would compare vs the benchmark redwolf??

      Just for fun.......Why not?
But my money is on the RedWolf. 😎

Obviously the money is on the redwolf but interesting to see the actual difference. Definitely test different pellets for each gun in future reviews too btw as they say each barrel can be different

Those groups are average at best.i thought the acid test was a 5p,on those results I would not buy that gun.that rifle is an out and out hunting rifle you would have missed loads of shots, and worse you would have wounded a lot of quarry.trycleaning the barrel and try again,

    • @southwestshooters
      @southwestshooters  2 роки тому +2

Then the solution would be simple - go closer and the group will tighten. It might be considered irresponsible to shoot an animal longer distances. I don't hunt, and have no interest in doing so. I am trying to demo the gun in an honest fashion. I totally respect your views!

Wood Pigeon ... Feel free to post your videos of you consistently shooting 5ps @ 40 mtrs .. 5p is very possible at 25 meters but at 40 meters 50p is more realistic

Is the rifle brand new if so lead the barrel first if it is used clean it first as a wierauch fan and user i can say these groups are not where they should be from the hw 100 at 45 yrds you shoud be able t place a magazine under a 10p coin maybe 1 or 2 flyers as the barrel is not pellet fussy im very aweare with diffrent pellets you will get diffrent result s but not like that

I've never had bad results with any pellets with my hwkt 100 and am quite easily getting a 50p group at 50 yards with rws superdome although diablo works really well too

Nice shooting. My 110 loves crosman pellets at the moment (although for about a month they went right off them) will try and upload something when I can access a 40m range. Thanks for the vid.

Excellent shooting Chris you have absolutely no reason or need to redeem yourself,as I posted yesterday both yourself and your colleague are very very good shots, the gun is gorgeous,it looks to me,simply as an observation that the Weihrauch is like my Walther Rotex a little pellet fussy with it liking JSB and Bisleys both heavier pellets, really nice groupings, fair play...as I said mine in .177 likes 10.34 Hades only,I do hope I didn't offend you with my comment as regards accuracy as it was just an opinion, with no offence intended at all...I look forward to your next graet video, kind regards,Phil.

Philip, no offence taken! I love it when people offer constructive criticism, and I have to be honest, I totally agree with you. I am demoing the gun, and I need to be able to show off what it can do... Which I think I did in this second video. Thank you for taking the time to comment! It really means a lot to me.

Excellent vid , good groupings at 40yrds .. ive always used .22 pellets up to a maximum of 16grn in both of my .22 rifles ( R10 & FX Typhoon ) but it didn't surprise me that the 22grn ( Bisley LRG ? ) delivered an excellent result , mainly due to the weight if it were breezy ... what I would like to know , is how much adjustment of elevation was needed to keep the shot string on the target card .. OR indeed how much holdover was involved ? At 22grn , we're getting into .25 calibre territory .. and as we all know , things start getting " loopy " ..

Mark I have to come clean the "22" you are reffing to is actually me writing "??" as I didn't know the gr of the pellet! I am sorry! My bad..... But I was very pleased with the way they group! No hold over in this video.

My HW100 FAC Airguns are shooting way better than that at 50 M.I honestly polish and clean the barrels now and then .They can do better at speed of 880-890 fps .However ,the groups and video are really great .Thank you for your efforts.

I consider myself lucky that i have just got a s/h one of these in .177. What a fantastic gun. Came with a scope and 3ltr dive bottle, hard and soft case loads of pellets and few other odds and ends for £950

I shoot the H&N And JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13gr in My HW100T FAC. And its tighter groups than this. Why did you not try the 18gr Heavies. For Ratting I use the Hades. Ive taken several Bush Doves at just over 100m.

Could you get yourself a decent table to shoot from so your more comfortable. Loving the reviews you just look so uncomfortable crouched over. But all in all loving the reviews literally ticking all the comparison reviews I'm after. Really would love a hw100 kt laminate so tempted. But I do feel there are slight more accurate and more shot count rifles for similar money.

    • @heithwatkins
      @heithwatkins 2 роки тому +1

Anyone can shoot with a good table.
Only the best can shoot under adverse conditions.

Yeah but he isn't testing his or a person's ability at shooting he is testing the guns. So a solid comfortable platform would be best.

I will 100 percent look into this. I actually feel very comfortable with the "rest on a work bench" rig, but I am sure things could be improved. I think I am not the best person when it comes to spring guns.... But if I can organise it I will!
