I remember watching this as a 9 year old at my grandparents. My first time seeing Liverpool lift a trophy. The 90’s were hard if you supported Liverpool.
Credit to Bolton for making Liverpool work hard for their victory, but for Liverpool, the 94/95 season marked a significant step forward towards respectability after several years of underperformance, even though they were never serious contenders for the title.
I dont care what anyone says but when the League Cup was on free to air tv along with the FA Cup (as it will for that competition next season) you watched it regardless of who was in the final. Especially the FA cup with both channels competing against each other and starting their coverage as around 12 ish
Whoever said that is an Idiot. The FA Cup is a 🏆 EVERYONE Wants. And I Think though it has been Devalued in some sense, it's getting it's Swagger Back what Little Swagger it lost
The League Cup was never live from its inception in mid 60s until Sky got hold of it. It's was, before Sky, always the highlights on the Big Match on Sunday. It was played on a Saturday amongst the usual fixtures & thus couldn't be live & affect the gates. The FA & the Football League were separate organisations & the 2 Cups had different agendas & politics.
I Remember back in 89 watching the All Merseyside Darby for the FA Cup here in the states with my two brothers, mom and pop. That was a back-n-forth nail biter of a match. I swear the neighbors thought we were committing murders in our house. One of the best matches I ever watched! YNWA!
Football was better in the 90s. The commercialization was there but did not dominate the game like today where most EPL teams are 'Global Brands' now. Passionate crowd & players who actually have links with their local club like Fowler & McManaman. I was 4 years old & lived in Wembley (just behind the stadium) when this game was played.
The Roy Evans team from 94 to 98 was great to watch. When they were on it they played some wonderful football. Unfortunately, they just didn’t have the backbone or discipline to compete for the title. They crumbled when the pressure was really on. Great entertaining side though
Quite often cup finals fall flat and fail to deliver but this was genuinely good to watch, and Bolton certainly made Liverpool work hard for it
13:16 Brian Moore & Kevin Keegan were on the Gantry at Wembley
The late Brian Moore, best football commentator ever.
I was at this match 27 years ago how time flies.
Me and my dad had a great day out we went to the semi-final against Palace as well
Thanks for downloading the 1995 League Cup final. Been looking for this for ages.
Great game. Thank you Liverpool Pride of England ❤YNWA and very Good Bolton Wanderers. I'm so glad Liverpool won.
Attendance for the 1995 Football League Cup Final was 75,595 fans.

Was just saying the same I was 13 and loved that day. Quality
I loved that old Euro '92 theme tune ITV used back then.
Thanks for sharing Dave. Please upload season reviews from 1996-1999. Thanks in advance. YNWA

Back when both cup finals actually meant something and we're a tradition. Now the FA Cup has sadly been devalued to being a Micky Mouse competition.

Really felt sorry for Jason McAteer. Lost this final and the FA Cup final the following year with Liverpool.
But at least he got to lift the trophy at the end of this game
Nice one Davey boy 🥳 keep them coming
