For those looking to make this deck even more budget than it already is, you can remove the Snarl lands in exchange for more snow covered lands (I run 8 islands 10 mountains). I personally think the red mana is slightly more important in this deck. I could even see doing 7 islands and 11 mountains, but 8/10 seems more appropriate for more consistently hitting those key blue/red spells. A slight edit to the deck I made was removing 1 Shock and adding in 1 Draconic Intervention (or other sweeper of choice). It does set you back 1 instant/sorcery for your wombo combo, but it blows out mono red and especially blows out mono-white. I personally run into a ton of mono red/white so that was a tech change I made for what I see on the ladder... all the time. And if you exile a Sieze the Spoils or Kazuul's Fury (that you discarded earlier to your engine), chances are you wipe their entire board and they scoop. You can also swap out the Shocks for other Counter magic if you enter a control-heavy meta to protect your combo and go for the big late-game blowout. Slight change: I had a single copy of the red/blue Pathway land, so I put that in the deck in took out 1 mountain. The rest is all snow land so I basically always hit that Frost Bite requirement when I need to. I could see this going up to 4 (and matching the land ratio in this video) and matching what Snarl setup, for those who already own the Pathways but not the Snarls. The Snarls are only marginally better as this deck has itself pretty much rolling safely by turn 3-4 and the dual lands are far lower impact. Overall a great deck. Played it for a few games on ladder and won every time even without the rare lands. Edit: A funny change I considered for the deck was adding in 3 Ominous Seas and taking out the 3 remaining Shocks. If you Dual Strike a Cathartic Reunion you're basically well on your way. It also can be brought in at instant speed, much like the shark off of Shark Typhoon. So you can totally just surprise your opponents with those. The downside is that discarding them sucks and you typically want to play them every time, rather than let your deck sort itself out over time with all the instant/sorceries. But regardless, it provides a "Plan B" to victory with another underused card.
Solid work buddy. I'm having a lot of fun with this too. Running crush the weak for a sweeper instead of draconic intervention just because I have one and not the other. Have you considered sliding a brash taunter in there? Dual strike into blitz of the thunder raptor makes for a cheaper plan b combo. Especially if someone uses test of talents on your experimental overload.
@@tangentialorca93 Totally doable. Another thing I did today was change out the furies for actual Fling spells (making the deck even MORE budget). I found myself in a situation where if I was playing the tap land side of Fury, I was basically already in a terrible position. So I just had this moment of realization that I was paying 1 extra mana for a "do nothing". I took out the 4 copies, and put in 4 Flings. I also really gun for the aggressive "Dual Strike Cathartic Reunion" combo. Getting that on turn 3 (foretell Dual Strike) tends to be pretty game-swinging. Brash Taunter could be interesting. I'll drop a copy of Ominous Seas and try it out (I only have 1 copy). The only problem I foresee is that it's a 5 drop. But I don't think that'll hurt much. Indestructible is also very nice as exile isn't super common.
@@Kaiyuni Funny that, I was just musing to myself if there was another card like Fury. To me, Fling instead of Fury reduces the cost threshold for your combo, but it does increase the risk of you getting mana strapped, thus increasing your loss rate. Running two of each, on the other hand, does give you a lot more flexibility and resilience against having test of talents played against one of your Flings/Furies. I'm gonna try that. I would only ever run 1 Brash Taunter (had to spend a wild for it) but at the rate you draw through your deck, you're bound to find it more often than not. Plus its just funny how quickly it stops the enemy creatures from attacking. On its own, its a death sentence, and otherwise, it still draws attention away from your combo setup.

Cool deck. I've been running a very similar one for a while now, but with more counters and a couple of Brash Taunters. Second, I could see cutting 2 Shocks for 2 Royal Scions (even if mod'd to be a bo3 deck, TRS is a great sb option). Fire Prophecy/Dragonfire are both solid replacements, it allows you to play Pathways and Temples. I'm about 10 games deep with the deck (Prismari over Seize and Silundi Visions over 2 SC Islands) and I'm at 8-2, losing to Elspeth's Nightmare both times. Thoughts?
I love trying your decks, but there is a definite variance in results (that variance being me), however this is genuinely under the radar good AND fun, even for MTG simpletons like me!

Somehow - despite not seeing decks with these cards until I switched to this deck, every single game I play seems to be against indesructible seasoned hallow blade BS or graveyard hate. Why use Seize the Spoils over Prismari Command? Command gives you 4 options, you can draw 2 then discard 2 plus create a treasure token (or destroy artifact or two damage any target).
Discard one vs discard two. The command isn't card draw as such, you discard as much as you draw. Although the burn for two could be useful often enough that Command is better anyway now that I think of it
Seize is discard one and draw two so it’s the same (discard two and draw one). Plus the treasure token. Command lets you draw two cards then discard two so it puts a total of three cards in the graveyard which is good, create a treasure, or deal 2 or destroy artifact. All in all a better choice here IMO. Can deal with a hard hitting early threat

@CGB, imagine throwing 2 Brash Taunters in the deck and self hit them with Blitz of the Thunder-Raptor when it has ridiculous value (can even be combo'd with Dual Strike). Or even Frost Bite would get some value against decks running low on creatures :)
Thank you for this, I just made a new account and didn't have any good decks to play because I didn't have the wildcards but this one is super cheap! 👍
It is cathartic to watch you fling Weird tokens at the opponents face following an Ultimatum for the win. I’ll be very excited once it finally rotates out.
@@sazger well in the case of double vision it's always the first spell you cast each turn with lithoform engine you can choose when to activate it not to mention activate any triggered or activated abilities ( which are not in this Deck tech ) dual strike is probably the best option because it also fills your graveyard with an instant but if we were to replace dual strike with a non-instant or sorcery I would say lithoform is potentially an interesting addition but of course that would mean this would have to be a whole different Deck tech so I guess my original comment is kind of a bad suggestion lol

Brawler with Blitz is also a great combo. Get out brawler with 10 inst/sorc in graveyard, dual strike the blitz targeting the brawler, hit for 20
Why use Seize the Spoils over Prismari Command?
CKC! Looks like you are having a lot of fun right now in B01!

test of talent is such a hoser to this deck it is so fun , i wish people play thi deck more againts my jeskai spirits
I made the zirda boast deck. Turned into a maskwood nexus dwarf tribal with madga and the dragon making boaster.
I feel like a 1-off Rielle would be nice in this deck, both for the extra draw and high power for Fury.
52:22 "rectum"
@CGB, imagine throwing 2 Brash Taunters in the deck and self hit them with Blitz of the Thunder-Raptor when it has ridiculous value (can even be combo'd with Dual Strike).
Or even Frost Bite would get some value against decks running low on creatures :)
Good idea mate. Dual strike a x10 Blitz to a Brash Taunter
I would like to see your take on a deck with any copy spell + Irencrag Feat + Crackling with Power its fun :D
He recently did a Big Red video with the deck you're describing.
Thank you for this, I just made a new account and didn't have any good decks to play because I didn't have the wildcards but this one is super cheap! 👍
This is a phenomenal artisan deck for the FNM artisan events. You have to remove the snarls and replace them with the common version.
Disappointed he didn’t copied that shock top deck shock against monored 🤣🤣🤣. Great deck well done on this one!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Been playing a variant of this for months.
I didnt have all the cards so I put in a few unleash furys... Nothing like chuckin a 40/20 weird thing at them!
Oh look its Sonio's deck.
I use tundras fumarole in this deck, its amazing. Also draconic fury
Great deck! i love it!
Why no teach by example? Isn't it strictly better?
I guess it doesn't have foretell but i think it's easier to cast
Monored never blocks. Today I had an opponent who tapped his faceless haven to turn it into a creature...
It is cathartic to watch you fling Weird tokens at the opponents face following an Ultimatum for the win. I’ll be very excited once it finally rotates out.
Thanks for sharing a cheap deck (no rare outside the lands)! I'll try it.
as a person who was shopping for headbands this week, for this very reason, this intro hit home.
How does he know the card his opponent plays before hand thats insane tf 🤯 bro 🤝
no lithoform engine?
Why play that over Double Vision? Engine requires mana activation every time?
@@sazger well in the case of double vision it's always the first spell you cast each turn with lithoform engine you can choose when to activate it not to mention activate any triggered or activated abilities ( which are not in this Deck tech ) dual strike is probably the best option because it also fills your graveyard with an instant but if we were to replace dual strike with a non-instant or sorcery I would say lithoform is potentially an interesting addition but of course that would mean this would have to be a whole different Deck tech so I guess my original comment is kind of a bad suggestion lol
@@MassVlogTv I gotcha. There’s also the new planeswalker whose ultimate allows you to copy a sorc/ins for an additional 2
YES! This is my pet standard deck and I’ve been thinking about how to tune it.
Using dual strike to protect your counters is genius.
What do you call a control deck that has a lot of discourse around it?
Controlversal
CGB what about a Deck build around experimental overload and big strixheven cards like magma, creative outbust etc... annnddd with double vision!!! _mind blow_ hahahahah
With a friend we call shock the death shock !
this deck is a banger
To be fair I love the headband
Is this the most budget deck of 2021 so far?
I love this deck
Am I crazy cgb or did you already dedicate a card to drunken Master on another day?
AND THE ONLY RARES ARE LANDS AND ZIRDA! SUPER BUDGET COMBO
12:56 don’t flatter them, everyone knows mono red players are illiterate. They probably don’t even know why you’d grab that card.
How many turns you want to take just add epiphany
