I built a hive lifter off your previous video , I did make some modifications to the arms and carriage . It would be interesting to here what changes and why on your next video. Thank you for these videos my hive lifter saved my back this season .

Thanks for your comments. I know my back thanks me when the harvest is over. Now if I could design a lift for inside the honey house to move the boxes up to the uncapping tank I would be set. I think the new design on the arms will lead to less uncaught handles when lifting. I guess I'll see. I'd love to see your hive lift.

In comparing to version 3, it looks like you are making the hive lifter wider and using some beefier materials for the frame and the hive lift arms. Were you getting some flexing with the previous model when doing maximum lifts?

I was getting some flex with the heavier lifts but it still had a good stability feeling. I changed the hinges in an attempt that they would catch more on there own but will wait and see. I also may add a motor drive on the lift but that is still up in the air.

How are you mounting your bearings for the carrier to the 1/2" shaft? The bearings are running inside the unistrut track of the 70" frame, there can't be much room behind the bearing inside the track. It appears you intend to weld the other end of the shaft on the outside of the 3 1/4" bearing support straps once the carrier is running freely.

Thanks for asking. I'm leaving the bearings inside the unistrut unwelded as the 1/2 shaft has only an 1/8" clearance of the unistrut. I will be testing it out once I finish the build and if need be I can either weld them in place if they bind up of possibly go to the design of the hive build 3.0.
