Currently there are only 5 teens in the top 100 and they are all 19 years old. The best ranked is Russia's Daria Kasatkina at 25. The best ranked 17-year-old is USA's Catherine Bellis, ranked 120. Sharapova's precocity should not to be expected from anyone. Given that, one should always be cautious with these "future stars". Many great junior players were not great adult players and many great adult players were not great junior players.

She didn't quit. She's been playing college tennis and has been doing pretty well in ITAs. Who knows if she will try the pros again once her college career is over.

Looking at how she lives it makes me look at my life and be thankful. I have at river to swim in, the side of the house to play against, and crazy family meals everynight.
