Classic. I remember when this album first dropped. It was a bunch of dudes from Iowa who just couldn't get to that next level. Then they put on the masks and the rest was history. 2 amazing guitarists, an amazing singer and one of the best drummers we've ever seen.

First, I freaking love you guys! Jai, girl you are so real! ❤️ I've been to slipknot shows, right up front in the pit and it has been an amazing experience every single time! They are one of the best bands to see live. Look up the lyrics and see how you feel then Half, cuz this song is really one that is open to the listeners interpretation, but too me it's about holding back due to fear and anxiety and in that holding back you wait and bleed. Anyway, I love you guys! ❤️

Saw them for the first time in 1998 in Des Moines. Only about 50 people in a tiny club. Last time was a major festival they were headlineing don't remember what one. Close to 50 in between. Best live show ever.

I LOVE Slipknot!!! They are an awesome group & Corey Taylor is just beyond amazingly talented!! Also, saw them a few years back at the Carolina Rebellion. They put on an AMAZING show!! If you get the chance to see them live, I highly recommend it!! 🤘💯

For his first few concerts, Corey Taylor (singer of slipknot) used to pull his dreads through the mask. He got a scalp infection doing this so he shaved off his head and glued the dreads to the mask instead. The specific mask seen is this video has his real hair glued to it.
Corey (lead singer) in fact did use his real hair in his mask, during the early slipknot days in ‘99 he had dreads and would pull them through the top of the mask but it was too painful so he just cut his dreads and glued them to the mask instead.
Haha since you asked the singer actually did pull his real dreads through that mask for a while when he started in the band but he eventually cut them off and glued them to the mask cause it was too hard to do that every time

My cousin leads a band called Gizmachi. They did ozzfest with Slipknot. They are like family now. Not my type of music.all the screaming..ugh.. but the sweetest guys ever. When my cousin..lead singer toured in Australia opening for them. He almost died from appendicitis. Slipknot paid All hospital Bill's and when he recovered enuff.flew him to Vienna to continue. Corey also called his parents. He refers to them as mom and dad.Dont judge a book...jada pinkett Smith loves my cousins band and got them to play on one of the late night shows. Still friends with the Smith's. Cool!

You'd be surprised at the amount of influence Slipknot has had on hip hop/rap; and vice versa.
so the original mask that corey wore just had holes in it and he would pull his dreads through the holes. he did a interview years ago where he said wearing the mask was very painful and he would channel that pain into the music. i wasnt at that show but i did get to see Slipknot live back then and i thought it was gonna turn into a full on riot. i have seen tons of band in concert and Slipknot stands alone when it comes to energy in concert. i was 19 when i first heard Slipknot and i am 41 now and they are still my all time favorite Metal band!

I was at that Ozzfest '99 tour where Slipknot was playing mid-day on a small second stage... They only played for 20 minutes, but the 9 members of Slipknot tore it up!!! And crazy part is, the crowd went nuts... and they didn't even have a record out by that point! A few weeks later, the first Slipknot album was released and it made the charts just on the hype they created on that tour.
By 2001, Slipknot were co-headlining the Ozzfest '01 tour w/ Black Sabbath🤘🤘🤡
Same here, a buddy was like we gotta hit the 2nd stage at 2pm or whatever instead of tailgating longer in the parking lot. Ok, walk over the hill & see the stage as they start their set, I was like WTF. 1st thought a rock WuTang wit some many ppl in the band 😂😂. By the end of the set I was right up front. I think Staind was the “big” 2nd stage act that year I wanted to see. The Home album b4 they got big also. Mudvayne, System Ozzfest had a nice lil 2nd stage b4 they were big thing for a year or 2. Think 98-04 I went to every ozzfest
