This is one of my favorite supposedly fast food dishes out there I'm a big seafood fan and beside coconut shrimp this is one of the best. Can't wait to try it.
I used to live close to Bridgewater Commons Mall but now live in northern NJ. Didn't know there was a Panda Express there years back but now I wouldn't be surprised. We just got one that opened in Succasunna and you know darn well I'll be ordering this dish often as I love it along with the Beijing Beef
So I'm grew up in Hong Kong, and we definitely have walnut shrimp here. I think it even originated here. With that said, it is a regional dish, so yes if you ask people from other regions you might get a confused look XD. Also it doesn't typically look as dark as the PE version.
That looks amazing! 😍I just helped my ten year old made his very own honey walnut shrimp for lunch because he loves Panda's. We followed an old recipe I found about a decade ago but the result was not as delicious as Panda's. He rate it a 7/10. We were trying to figure out what was missing. So I decided to research a more current recipe and I found yours. I can't wait to give it a try soon. Thank you. Btw, the videography of this video is superb 🙌
I didn't have walnuts and heavy cream lying around so I substituted crushed almonds for the nuts and almond milk for the heavy cream. I also substituted agave for honey. And wow! It was insanely delicious 🤤. Thanks for this great video! It was very easy to follow.
I believe I saw somewhere that get the authentic Chinese restaurant texture shrimp you soak them in lye water or baking soda water. It keeps the shrimp a plump and crisp texture.
Hey yeah, that's great and all, but can you remake their crispy shrimp? I wanna know how to make it before they discontinue it completely or something.
May I offer some friendly constructive criticism? I feel like Justin's videos would do better (engage more viewers) if the presentation was changed up a bit. I've noticed that his videos don't get the same reactions that June's and Julia's do. And that's puzzling, because the content itself is great - and other UA-cam content creators have success making videos with the same theme as Copycat Kitchen, so we know people want to watch this kind of content. And Justin is cool! I'd actually really like to see more of Justin's personality in his videos - though, of course, for many professionals, there has to be a line between their professional persona and their personal privacy (which is completely understandable). I feel like nowadays, the most popular and well-liked food content showcases not only food & cooking in some exceptional way (whether it's bougie, extra relatable & easy, professional caliber made accessible, hipstery & edgey, food sciencey, diversity friendly, or whatever else), but also the people doing the cooking. Look at Bon Appetit pre-meltdown - it was practically a sitcom! And people loved that. And look at personalities like June, Chef John, Babish, and Adam Ragusea. I feel like a ton of their viewers care more about *them* than about the content. In terms of how the actual video is shot, I've noticed that it's gotten very popular to have (mostly) fixed shots where the camera is *not* moving around, and personally I really prefer that, at least for UA-cam videos. When the camera's moving, it almost feels like I'm watching a dated & overdone Food Network show. But when it's fixed, Idk, it feels a bit more realistic; maybe it makes me feel like I'm actually there in the kitchen, and that draws me in more. Also, this is vague and perhaps not super helpful, but... the video thumbnails and lighting leave something to be desired, too. Just some thoughts. :) Happy Monday!
I did not realize how easy it is to make it! I cant wait to make it!
Made it today for my wife and she was blown away. Very good recipe!

Keep researching. There are better recipes. Soak the shrimp in lye water or baking soda water. It keeps the texture crisp.
for how long and at what temp do we bake walnuts at? excited to give this a try.
Try Kewpie mayo in the sauce 🤌
This is my go to order! Yours looks incredible! 🤤
Oh hell yeah. This is what I always get with rice
If you hate mayo as much as I do, you can always use cream cheese as a substitute! I've made these before and they were perfection! 🤏🏾🤏🏾🤏🏾
Thanks, mayo was EXACTLY a no go.

At that point it's not even honey walnut shrimp it's something else
Yes Sir they look delicious I have to try it 😀😀😀
Im goinh to try this today ❤ wish me luck😊
How was it?
What size shrimp did you use. I used a 16/20 size and that was too big
I believe I saw somewhere that get the authentic Chinese restaurant texture shrimp you soak them in lye water or baking soda water. It keeps the shrimp a plump and crisp texture.
Baking soda makes any meat softer
Looks sooo good, can’t wait to make it !
I trust you with my life Bc the Alfredo recreation from Olive Garden was bangin! This is one of my faves at Panda Express. So excited to try!

So.…DID U TRY IT?! If so how was it?!!
Lol good ole bridgewater 😭😭 miss going there
I'm going to have to try this but I need to get heavy creme. This looks insanely easy.
yessssssneededthis
Mayo! I’ve wondered for years what the secret was.
It's not mayo, for sure
Thank you,
Never tried it - sounds too sweet, but I'm intrigued after watching this video.
It’s so good! Not super sweet at all, it’s definitely less sweet than orange chicken
🤤 best Panda Express food
Recipe?
This is one of their only decent dishes and even saying that, sometimes it's hit or miss with the shrimp quality.
I want to try these but I detest mayo and refuse to eat anything with it. Guess I’ll never know.
I heard u can swap it with cream cheese
Hey yeah, that's great and all, but can you remake their crispy shrimp? I wanna know how to make it before they discontinue it completely or something.
yumyumyumyum
Very nice
You’re missing “honey” in the video title for Honey Walnut Shrimp !
Fast forward to 5:19 in the video
Did you even watch the video
He definitely used honey in the video/cooking part and also the title. Did you not watch the video or read the caption..?
Did you make the candied walnuts or get them already candied?
He literally explained and showed himself making the candied walnuts...
@@smokefan1443 😂
did u watch
good performance 💝😋
Sorry Sir, that's not the Panda Express Honey Walnut Shrimp
Well of course it’s not.
It homemade duh. We just watched him cook it.
Delish can you do videos of eating at Saddle Ranch Chop House and Space Aliens Bar and Grill.
Sweetened condensed milk is missing from the sauce recipe
So unhealthy but it’s so good.
😋
Honestly anything is probably better than Panda Express' version of honey walnut shrimp lol.
😂
P.F. Changs makes a wonderful version, but I actually love Panda's too.
👍🤤👍
Panda does not use mayo in their honey walnut shrimp. Desperately searching for an accurate copycat
Okay but can this guy 👅👊🏽🍑💨📦?!
The camera zooming in and out is kinda annoying.
I agree! I thought it was only me thinking that.
Where does their shrimp come from? 🍤 🗑 🦠
Please, take the tail shell off when you are serving shrimp
I’m eating a panda Rn
