Hi Gary, Scan are located 10 mins down the M61 from me in Horwich, very close to Bolton football stadium. I've bought a few PC bits from them, but no guitars as yet. Those Ibanez Mikro guitars are great, I own one of the bass versions, which is physically the same size as a normal guitar and is really easy to play for a guitarist. It was only £180 brand new and is flawless. It's so much fun.
Hi Garry, always great to hear from you :-) My granddaughter is thrilled to bits with this - loves the colours. Yes, Scan promise they set up every guitar before it leaves their premises and their prices are the best. I bought some Gibson Monitors from them a couple of years ago and their service is exemplar - this is how all operations should function IMO. Didn't know that Mikro made a bass. I have a lovely old Ricky 4003 that I'm utterly in love with so my bass requirements are satisfied but if the Mikro bass is in the same league as this little guitar than I know it'll be superb. Cheers, Gary :-)
guitar wiring expert here - on the 5 way position 2 its the opposite coils of both pickups in parallel so its hum cancelling but not humbucking, position 4 is both coils of the neck pickup in parallel which is also hum cancelling - you need a special cortek 5 way switch to do this - a normal swtch cant do it. never heard about the reverse head to help with the thin strings - makes better sense than what i heard before that it was to help the fat strings! i finally got round to sorting my (full size) pgm i bought on new years day- always thought these looked cool but they arent cheap- id rather have a full size not pgm ibanez rg for that price.oh and it was mister big you were trying to remember
Ahhhh - hi Malko and thanks buddy :-) Yes - Mr Big! Ah, Gilbert's an awesome musician, thanks :-) This one's for my granddaughter and she's asking for distortion before learning scales hahahahaha. She's 10 years old and absolutely bang into it. Hope it continues. Thanks for the hum cancelling info Malko, you're a gent. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi Gary the guitar sounds awesome. It almost looks like a toy guitar on you. Does it feel a bit weird to play? for the first few minutes anyway? With 24 frets they must be a bit closer together. I didn't give a thought to the bending thing until you mentioned it. Maybe it helps the tuning stability not having to push them so far up so far.
Hi Reeldin :-) You've made some intelligent observations, here. I'm 1.83m (or 6ft in Church of England) just to give you the perspective and yes, it felt weird indeed. Certainly, if you're regularly playing a 4/4 guitar this will feel alien but vaguely familiar at the same time! You're spot on about the fret spacing and my fingers are realistically a bit too big once we've got past fret 12. Also, you're right about the effort required to bend a note. With everything being a bit shorter, there's less movement required to achieve the same pitch shift. I got this for my granddaughter and can you guess what she likes best about it? Yup, the colour. Like I always say, if the look of the guitar is appealing to you, it'll make you want to pick it up. Cheers, Gary :-)
@@FoxysGuitarShow Hi Gary, what a top man you are!!! It's been a while since the word "Intelligent" got used in a sentence refiring to me. Back in the day I bought a mandolin and learned a couple of tunes "Parrot Fashion" just to put a different sound in the set half way through. I had a Telecaster at the time and after spending a few weeks getting to grips with a couple of mandolin tunes my tele felt like like a monster.
Ah, the first one of a post retirement world. Always fascinated by these bonsai ones. I'm still counting 24 frets, so presumably the overall fret width is smaller from one to the next than on a standard size. Imagine a ham fisted podgy fingered sod like me on one. I could hit anything. And it must be a long time since you've done an ibanez? If indeed you've ever done one before ( without checking the back catalogue)
Hi Steve, I'd like to say I'm missing my Governmental Department already but until you just turfed up right now I'd not even given it a second thought! You're spot on with your assertions here. Titchy scale = titchy fret spacing. There's at least a couple of Ibanez guitars in the archives but I intend to tidy up some of the older offerings now I have the time. Cheers mate :-)
Blimey, hi Tom :-) I hope you bought them from me! This one's for my granddaughter - she loves the colours. So do I, to be fair. More wallet-emptying stuff on the way :-) Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi Nick :-) Weirdly, old Felix (the fat Tuxedo) comes in the room when I start playing....just as Fred leaves! You can only please some of the cats some of the time, it seems! Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi Si :-) Don't recall mentioning maple for the fretboard largely because it's laurel as said in the video. Maple neck , Indian laurel fretboard as per the Ibanez stats. Moreover, these are brilliant for teenagers or even grown ups as a back-up. Just the right size to move up from a mini strat etc. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi there your Laudship :-) The looks may not be universally popular but it doesn't half play well (now). I'll concede that if it's the first thing that meets your hangover eyes this can induce some unpleasant queasiness but for a nipper it's the dog's danglies. Cheers, Gary :-)

@@FoxysGuitarShow oh a rock chick for sure then!
Thanks for explaining the 4 way switch first clear explanation ive seen. So are thr stock strings 11s?
Hi Blackmoofou and thanks :-) The stock strings are 10's but as I recall this one currently has 9's. Cheers, Gary :-)
@@FoxysGuitarShow Cheers Gary, Thanks for the clarification. 🙂

Ah, hello Audio Monster, I'm pleased to hear it :-) It's a backing track from one of the older Elevated Jam Tracks, I think. Cheers, Gary :-)
