- UP 3985 went to Tennessee to masquerade as Clinchfield 676 for the 50th Anniversary of the annual Santa Train. This music video was produced as part of a show for Summerail. Music provided by Cowboy Nation and their song "Big Train".

It's coming back now. The Railroading Heritage of Midwest America announced plans to restore 3985, 5511, and 6936.

It will! Yesterday Union Pacific announced they will be donating 3985, along with 2-10-2 5511 and Centennial 6936 to the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America group in Illinois for operational restoration.
@@wordenentertainment1997 yeah I saw that! Coincidentally some of my family is from the Silvis area and we’ve visited that location for years now not knowing that the complex was right behind the pizza place we always eat at.

Some of these scenes were from the production UP’s Clinchfield Challenge by Pentrex.
That was in November 1992
So why not the big boy running into the CSX line?
There was a tremendous amount of trouble with the 3985 fitting around curves and backing around a wye in Kingsport, TN. Based on that experience I doubt the Big Boy would be able to run on that line. It was a different time back when the 3985 came East. Today's railroads just aren't interested in doing this type of thing.

Big Boy was not operational back in the 1990's. The 3985 was the big boy in that era.
