i agree with your thoughts. I was fine with waiting for 6-8 month, even a year if necessary. waiting for their comeback. But after 5/6 months without further information + the comback without those two, anxiety was rising. i really hoped and prayed that it won't end like how it does with other groups (members on hiatus are leaving) because i love them so much and really wanted to see them live once. But unfortunately, it happend and i am at a loss of words. I think i need a year to recover from that. I still can't believe i won't see them in any Treasure video from now on - just thinking about it makes me sad.
however i wish them all the best, i still love all 12 and i will support them forever . fighting Teume & Treasure (Mashidam included)
We will still support Yedam and Mashiho individually in their future activities just like we support their 10 brothers 🙂💙

my theory is they were already discussing contracts way back when they announced the hiatus and they used that time to figure out their decisions while using the ot10 comeback to have us get used to ot10 before we get the news bcs even back then they would photoshop them out of pictures and got rid of their truz plushies and the members even saying theres only “10 members” all signs were pointing to their contracts already ended back in the summer honestly if they never announced the hiatus and just randomly dropped the news it would be so much more shocking bcs were were all at least prepared to an extent with a taste of ot10 so ygs strategy for handling it was understandable for me

I don't know, watching Treasure is like watching YG tried to be better in management their artist...
This makes sense, and we don’t know for sure if the other members already knew they were leaving way before us. BUT - if they did - again, why drop this news now, in the middle of a new era? Why not start fresh from the beginning? So odd.
Maybe the two just made their decision final. If u notice yg statement before it was purely hiatus and hopeful for a cb. But since it was announce now, maybe the finality is sealed.
Im sad and it really breaks my heart hearing the news about yedam and mashi ,, i wish for them to overcome whatever situation they have rn,, wishing for them all the best ,, and thank you for the reaction,, TREASURE and fellow TEUMES fighting, support our boys as always

I really agree with you as to why YG have to announce this with all the schedule coming. Volkno release and seoul concert. Its just so fxckd up.. it really gave us the grief with everything that just happened. Its so hard to pretend that everything ok and just go on.. 😭

Here are my takes :
I’m not very fond of YG as a company but after a lot of thought, I realized they actually have a lot to lose if they were the ones that decided or pushed the termination of contracts. It won't make sense because these are the members trained the longest and YG had invested a lot in these two. Imagine the loss revenue considering YG is a company that does not require their trainees to pay back their training + living costs. These two have been with them for 7-8 years. and have only been active for 2 years. In fact, they might’ve tried to prevent it, which explains why in the initial statement, they said MashiDam were only going to be on hiatus until the end of the year. These two might actually have been given time to decide and eventually decided what they thought was best.
I feel like Yedam, despite being in YG for basically most of his life, had just realized later on that he needed to do something that would make HIM happier as an individual. People can change dreams, you can spend 8 years studying law and decide you wanna just be a baker. In addition, being in a group might not allow him to express himself freely, or his music and vision might not be in line with what the company has for Treasure. They can't really release self-produced songs without consulting with higher ups and I assume Yedam has actually been submitting his work to YG, considering he has been making music since trainee days/years. Mashiho, however, I don't know what to say. It's devastating. There wasn't any clear explanation about his health and it’s very worrisome to think of even now.
Regarding the announcement being dropped right before VolKno MV release, it actually would’ve been days AFTER had they pushed the actual schedule of VolKno’s MV date release, which was on 4th. It was due to Itaewon incident that they couldn't. Also, Treasure is having a concert in 2 days. They probably tried to follow the schedules that have already been implemented. Maybe they couldn't say it before TSS CH.2 (current era) happened because MashiDam has not decided yet.

I agree with all this, and I actually think Yedam and Mashiho were still mulling it over until literally now - as in, YG let the public know as soon as they knew themselves. But of course, we'll never really know because things are swept under the rug. But then this also means the boys are still just as new to this information as we are, which is painful to think about 😩
But then, they would have been rehearsing for their concert for a while now...under what impression? That Yedam and Mashiho weren't coming back? Or.....? I just don't know lol.
I wonder who will replace Yedam and Mashiho's vocals in their performances?
@@marcogennuso I feel like the ones having the hardest time over this are MashiDam and the remaining active Treasure members themselves. ) : I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision, and I’m sure Treasure themselves also had hopes that they would return- considering that members, Doyoung mostly, have been subtly reassuring fans on their weverse account that ot12 will remain as is.. It’s frustrating that we probably will never know how or why it ended the way it did unless MashiDam themselves speak up. It’s just that I don’t think they were forced to leave like a lot of people are implying.
Treasure has been rehearsing because YG had stated that MashiDam weren't going to be participating until the end of the year. So technically, they were rehearsing with the knowledge that it’s only the 10 of them performing until the end of they year. It hurts to think, and I don't wanna think about it, but what if they actually believed they would be complete next year. 💔
I don't know who will take their parts. I know any member won’t fail to deliver nonetheless.. but it definitely won't feel the same. We all (including Treasure members) deserve a big hug.
Yesss. With all the festivals, anniversary, comeback TSS ch 2, promotion, attending awards, concert, Japan Tours. There will NEVER be a 'good' timing to announce such a heartbreaking news. Hiatus was just a time given to Mashidam to really think about their future. And now they already decided. I wish both all the best with their life.

i had the EXACT same thoughts as you so many teumes on twt were mad at us for questioning the news and telling us to move on but yge basically baited us. They said it was a temporary hiatus and made us wait several months in the dark just for this its absolutely ridiculous. i am a predebut teume (since ygtb) and knowing that mashidam were the longest trainees of treasure and yedam even spent more than half of his childhood at yg training to be a singer just to for him to become a producer? its confusing really. i support them no matter what but like you said WE DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENS BEHIND CLOSE DOORS.

My thoughts, after Jikjin they had their holidays I remember a live channel that goes at the aeroport received a notice that Mashi would comeback and was waiting for him.
So based on that Mashi was already having a bad time and talked with the company that he don't feel like keep going, but the company wanted him to stay and try again with Jikjin but even after Jikjin his mental state kept deteriorating so they gave all the boys a holiday and Mashi went sooner in Japan to stay with his family. But he wasn't get well so they gave him more time to recover, before deciding if they stay or not for the tours.
For Yedam, I believe it was the same and the company did the same thing, gave him 2 songs to produce, a bigger studio but he still wasn't feeling it. So they gave him time to study be with other producers ( vacation with Akmu, partying with the YG producers) to then come back last week and have a last discussion.
On the video of Mashi going to Japan he had a black envelope, I believe that was the termination contract, maybe he signed it before hello came out and they kept it to wait for Yedam and announce it at once or vice-versa.
Otherwise why would YG give a statement that their break will be prolonged to 2023.
In the YG side: maybe they wanted to give them more time till next years, but the fandom was starting to break apart, the members were getting attacked, especially Hyunsuk, Doyoung and Junkyu so they decided " let's just close it now"
For the timing I believe it was : VolKno >> announcement >>> concert, but Halloween happened so it became announcement >> VolKno >> concert

This makes a lot of sense as well; there's so many variables that we aren't aware of. The timing and scheduling of everything makes the story more believable. I just wish we could have at least gotten a final goodbye with all the members together, that would have been so sweet 🧡😔
I also had no idea about the black envelope or Yedam hanging out with producers and even given a larger space to work. When you factor in these details, it does seem like YG tried giving the guys time and space to do their thing.

I feel like Mashiho and Yedam are already giving hints before their hiatus. Yedam was very emotional during their trace concert. I remember all the members gave messages for their parents during the concert except for Mashiho which I find very odd. Mashiho also said something like "I think this will be the first and last time I will do this" while doing something with the banner on Junkyu's bday live (correct me if I'm wrong). Yedam also posted having a fun time in the beach with Akmu's chanhyuk before the hiatus. With this information, I think they've decided to try and work it out with Jikjin. This might also have something to do with the cancellation of darari promotions since YG initially gave a statement that they will promote Darari in April and the fandom later found out it was cancelled. I agree with you tho YG should have let us see their proper goodbyes. And if ever they're really not allowed to, I'm sure they've done it privately considering their brotherhood.

They left. What do you expect? This happen in every company. Other company even boycott their ex artist and filing lawsuit or openly kick them out. At least Mashidam left in a good terms. Yedam had a chance to become soloist/producer after Kpopstar, but he chose to join YGTB and debut with Treasure. If idol life is not what he wants, he could leave earlier like Yoonbin or decided to be full producer like Raesung before YGTB.
It's easier to blame the company, but in this case, no. I think YG give all YGTB trainees a fair chance. Just like they give Jihoon, Yoshi, Asahi, Jaehyuk second chance.
For Mashiho, health comes first. I hope he's getting better. I wish them both all the best. No matter how much you hate the company, Treasure members chose to be there. It's their home.

Treasure knew from the beginning that they won't comeback anymore. Yg didn't even bothered to give a proper explanation, and they announced the news before volkno mv, they could just start fresh since the beginning of this hello era instead of giving us hope. Yg sucks at managing idol.

They wanted to leave long time before and probably already terminate their contract right after TRACE. I remember on every Treasure Map episodes. Fans were begging for Yedam and Mashiho more screentime. Both didn't talk & do alot, unless the episodes were about sport and music. I felt that both didn't really enjoy filming variety idol content or idol life in general.

From what I've heard and read. YG announced of not renewing their contracts and not termination per se.
As for announcement. It may have been because of postponed released of Volkno M/V. And days just before Treasure's upcoming concert. That they pushed through with the announcement as soon as possible. Rather than being bombarded yet again of another news outlet before them announcing it first.
As for YGE handling their talents. They are never forced to do what they don't enjoy. Though they are strict to lead you, but they always say that you have to have conviction and joy in what you are in. .

Elon Musk had so many good things he wants to do on twitter when he was only one of the users... he bought twitter and its all going to shambles. What do I mean? It's so easy for us to have all these opinions on YG, Yedam and Mashiho but truth is what do we know? To me, I'll take what is being said about it as it is... it is sad but what can we do. There's 10 more talented artists that are still in Treasure and they're still doing their best, that is where I'm putting my focus.
UNLESS, Yedam and/or Mashiho comes out and says something different from what YG has put out then to me, it was a decision that they agreed with... whatever both parties want to keep private I will let it be. Looking at all previous artists from YG, I am at ease knowing that YG would never be a hindrance if ever Yedam or Mashiho decides to do something again in the future.
Of course people blame YG no matter what. Since when did people see any good in YG?
My opinion is maybe yg tried to give them time to change their minds. As u know Yedam is YGs protegee and both spent the longest time in the agency. Despite among agencies, yg never ask for compensation with their trainees and artists who left, still yg is the bad guy. Thats y yg never show effort to explain. Since it all boils down to condemning the agency.

The timing was unfair it’s pretty much overshadowed VolKno. I believe at first they intended to come back and they were discussing with YG for a while because at first even the other members seemed hopeful just going by little things they would do. I just wonder when they knew for sure the contacts were terminated v when the announcements were made.
To be fair, staying under YG would probably still limit Yedam as far as the music he wants to make. He’s an R&B guy and seems like a free spirit. Now he can do what he wants. I’m hoping he just stays independent like Hanbin and gets to do what he wants.
As far as Mashi’s health. I thought he made the best decision for himself. Now he can focus 100% on healing instead of worrying about YG and 11 other people. The full truth will come out in a few years 🤷🏽♀️

Well that’s awful and makes no sense, especially when they want us all to bond with these guys like a family. It's like the artists get punished by the company in situations like this instead of the company making the transition more hopeful and positive. So weirrrrrrd.

Haruto posted this on May 26, the day before YG announced MashiDam's temporary hiatus from the group on May 27. He literally said we never know what's going on behind. Just like us, the members are also hurting and hoping, but are already in the process of accepting the reality since May 😭
They clearly have shown signs of hope because Doyoung is reassuring us that they'll remain as 12 and them giving Mashiho and Yedam spaces during their intro in Kpop Masterz in Manila last July for fans who shouted their names even before the start of the show 😭
We waited long enough, so were the members and the company. YG obviously tried to give them time to think things first and decide after. Sadly, they chose not to come back. But, everyone there might have already seen this coming, and so they decided to continue with their lives and careers.
Almost six months of unsure decision from Mashiho and Yedam is long enough that the group and the company have to do what they have to.
Mashiho, whatever you are going through, might it be physical or emotional, please be well. We pray for your healing. We miss you so much 😭
Yedam, I still can't understand everything right now, but please, be well too. We miss you so bad, but if that's what your heart really desire, we will respect it. Please continue to shine.

Really the timing is really off! YG should have announced the news later or more earlier. It’s confusing to us Treasure Makers, and yes, even though they have the every right to leave if they want to (if they really wanted to..) a simple explanation or public goodbye isn’t that hard especially to the fans who supported them for years for them to have clearance in their minds about whether if they really wanted to do this. We might not really know what’s stopping them.. maybe YG or maybe not. Still.. it is confusing. Something definitely isn’t right. But with all these, i hope atleast they didn’t put the other members from the truth because if not they probably be more hurt than the fans. I still hope the best for them of course if these is really what they wanted to do or needed to do.
A lot of people spend a lot of money on Treasure merch, and even on specific things like Yedam and Mashiho photo cards, etc....the least they could do is have a proper send off with everybody. It's like..."Thanks for spending all this money and collecting all this stuff! Btw they’re leaving now and it means nothing so whatever bye!!" 😂🤷🏻♂️
