    I've used this press for years and at age 60 can say it's the best I've ever had. The pieces are all uniform so they cook at the same rate (and they are the perfect size.) BUT I never load the hopper to capacity and I don't know why you'd even suggest it. I have severe arthritis and I can press a clove, or two, with no effort and no spillage over the edge. (perhaps you were trying to prove something, but not sure what) The price should not be an issue as you'll never need to buy another one.

      Interestingly, I do only put one or two when I really do use it. I didn't really think about why I put three in, just maybe I wasn't thinking or perhaps trying to load it to full capacity to demonstrate it does close? Your guess is as good as mine. It is a great garlic press tho.

      I use one clove at a time and I don't even bother to peel it. Goes through easily and is perfect. Saves so much time and effort.

      It does hurt a bit to get this but I think this will last forever not to mention saving you money because you can use less garlic than other presses since this one releases more flavor.

    I stopped cooking for almost a year due to some personal reasons. I've now realized how many things I've willingly not purchased for one reason or the next.
    Now, I'm determined to break that habit. And I've bought a few different cheap garlic presses over the years that have not been worth the packaging they came in.
    I'm determined now to stock my kitchen with the very best tools that will last a lifetime!

    I appreciate overloading it haha, no pictures had the inside. I want one that can take abuse without imploding, also probably means it can do ginger.

      I've read about people purchasing knock offs. I played it safe and purchased at Sur La Table to save myself the potential aggravation.

    The current price on Amazon is $45.00. Quite a bit of money for a garlic press.

    • @BeatTheBush

      I might have increased the demand on this by making a video on it because the price went up same day I posted this video. Might be a coincidence though but same day? Anyway, price fluctuates on this so watch it for a while and you might be able to snatch it for half price.

  • @busywl69
    @busywl69 7 років тому +1

    why so expensive?

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  7 років тому +1

      Ridiculous, I know. I think it's because there is high demand on this. If you watch the price for a while it does come down on sales.

    It looks like a great press but I think it must take q lot of strength to press it. I am 70 years old and don't have a lot of strength in my hands so I guess it wouldn't work for me.

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  2 роки тому

      Yes it does. If you have grip problems then you don't want this.

    • @brucewayne9699
      @brucewayne9699 2 роки тому

      It really doesn't take a lot of strength. I'm not sure why he overloaded the thing with so many cloves, he overfilled it so made it look difficult to press. If you put just 1 or 2 cloves at a time, it's extremely easy to press thanks to the compound lever, which basically multiples the force you apply. You can even put through unpeeled cloves and it does it very easy. But yeah, just don't overfill it like this guy did.
