- The Chicago music scene is hurting right now, in the last four months, we've lost two of the city's biggest rappers, #FBGDuck and #KingVon.
Where do we go from here? The mother of the late rapper FBG Duck, Lasheena Weekly says "it's time to bring the mothers together" that's why she decided to officially establish a new organization called M.O.P (#MothersofPeace) with the help of Victory Over Odds founder Develle Gates.
"What I'm trying to establish now is a roundtable to bring all the moms together who lost their children to the violence" says Lasheena.
#DreaO sat down with the mothers of your favorite #drillrappers to talk about a plan to stop the violence and restore order in the streets of #Chicago in the first ever M.O.P (Mothers of Peace) roundtable interview.

Something about Tooka's mom from the first time I saw her, is real and very sad! I'm a single mother of 2 boys from the Westside of Chicago (Austin) and it's an everyday job and fight to keep your son's out the streets and grave! My oldest is now 30 and a successful Electrical Technician. My youngest son is 18 in College and working! I am not their friend and from birth, I instilled the fear and love of God and me in them! My son's are 6'2 and 6'7 and to this day, they listen, respect and don't pull the dumb shyt with me!! You have to start parenting before they are born! You have to be consistent, tenacious and have righteous indignation to nuture healthy, productive and powerful black males in the hood!

This is a wonderful thing because this something that’s therapeutic for these mothers who can truly relate to their life stories. All of the mothers should get together if they are in a place to do so to discuss the pain that cannot be erased so to help ease that pain it’s something special that they can always have and if possible I hope other mothers can come together and have the conversation because I’m sure they all have the same to similar story.
