  • Chiropractic adjustment on a dog.
    Dr. Adam gives an example of a typical dog chiropractic adjustment on his dog Bo.
    Bo is an active German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP), and doesn't have any active issues or symptoms.
    This video is to demonstrate a normal check and correction by a dog chiropractor on a healthy returning dog patient.

    We recently started taking our 2 old girls to an animal chiropractor. We see our human chiropractor weekly and decided to get the dogs checked and treated too.

    Many people don't know that the pinched nerve, or some other spinal issue, may cause severe problems with poor dogs, like nervousness, lack of focus, hostility, even organ failure, etc. People try to "fix" those side-effects through extra training, or medications, and still don't see the root causes! Misdiagnoses are so common in such cases. Dog owners, get your dogs examined by an animal chiropractor from time to time, especially after weeks of leash pulling.

      Yes some love to prescribe pills just like human doctors do as a quick pay day. Beautiful GSP. We have a Doberman and want a GSP for a friend. Taking my dobe tomorrow for first time. He has a bit of lameness once and a while in his back leg. Hope this helps him.

    My 12 year old Brindled Mountain Cur came out of the woods a bit lame. Vet said it was his lumbar area and prescribed meds, rest and a heating pad. I have also been running down my hands down his spine. I can feel the inflamed area, but no way will I make any kind of adjustment. Just soft message for now. I may take him to a Doc like you. Time will tell. Even though he's 12 he's still fit and active. Will be hard to keep him calm.

    Beautiful boy! GSP’s are the best dogs. I had to say goodbye to mine almost 2yrs ago now but I really hope to have another one. They’re such characters.

    I have a 6 year old toy poodle and he is having trouble with his back limbs. He jumps a lot and when this started, he jumped and when he came down he started yelping and could not walk. He has a hard time standing and has a hump back. I took him to the vet and he said that he needs surgery on his back because there is something wrong with his spine. My daughter in law recommended an animal chiropractor and we started taking him to a chiropractor after the doctor told me he needed surgery. He was improving until he chased a cat that was on our driveway and it’s back again with hardly walking. The chiropractor is doing the treatments again with laser therapy. I’m afraid that he may need surgery. What do you suggest?

    My 16 year old male Chihuahua seems a bit stiff in his hind quarters. Could he possibly benefit from hip adjustment? Or is it just old age and arthritis?

    Is there any simple yet definitive way to test at home to determine exactly what leg is affected? My 10 year old Staffordshire terrier has a problem with one of his front legs. But I don’t know how to diagnose which one it is. One of them comes forward much faster than the other one. Should I assume that’s the healthy leg? Or does he bring it forward quicker because it’s sore and hurts to step on it? It’s very confusing for me.

    How often should a dog see a chiropractor?

    • @k9activehealth
      @k9activehealth  2 місяці тому

      Great question. It depends on a few factors around the dog's health, age etc. and obviously as the owner, what your goals are for the dog.

    Our pomeranian has tenderness on his front right shoulder, seems to be more tender under neath, above the armpit. When he tries to put weight he sprays it out sideways. He's not whimpering or anything. He just won't put weight on it and makes him unstable. It's a higher muscle/tendon issue, tender to the touch

      there was a chiropractor in Kelowna beside Pawsitive Veterinary, bu the vet has since moved. You could call them and ask because Dr. Moira had often suggested going there for our dogs. We drove a couple plus hours to see this particular vet. sorry for not remembering the name of the chiro.

    1:11 Hi Adam went for a long hunt the other day with my GSP and 2 days later he started to limp randomly (rear left paw). he limps and 10 secs later he runs like everything was normal. I took him to the vet today and nothing was wrong. usualy after a hunt he's sore for 2 days max but he never limped before. any clue or advice? TIA

    • @k9activehealth
      @k9activehealth  Рік тому

      It's difficult to say without assessing a dog hands on. However, if it was two days after a hunt it may be something else entirely. If your Vet assessed him and everything was fine, continue to watch him closely for a 5-7 days and monitor the symptoms. If it progresses I would take him back. Hope he returns to normal for you.

    Beau chien je trouve ! Mais en lui passant la main comme ça sous les hanches, ça lui attrape et ça lui coince aussi son petit zizi, et en plus en le soulevant comme ça, ça peut lui chatouiller à fond le ventre et le zizi s'il est très sensible à ces endroits-là, qui en général sont des endroits plutôt très sensibles... 🙂 Et en tout cas ça doit lui serrer son petit zizi non ?! 🙂
